Saw your post and i found that what you have mentioned is true and almost similar to me.

After much thoughts and comparisons I finally placed my order on Razer Store for my Blade 15 (Base), RTX 3070, QHD to replace my battle-worn blade 15 970m (Since 2015). My old blade has served me well..

Yes true that i am going to miss out on intel 11 gen. or the new AMD series. truth is, i do not see razer allowing a ryzen cpu on the blade due to the thunderbolt certification any time soon.

3070 should do the trick for the foreseeable future.. Can't wait!

Tomorrow I will be getting my new Blade 15 the RTX 3070, with 144Hz QHD display. I am at the point where time feels like it’s slowing down as It gets closer.
I thought a lot about waiting to get one of the Advanced Blades but I have already got a full size Chroma Keyboard, Naga Trinity Mouse, & Tartarus Pro from Razer so it wasn’t as big of a loss. I also decided to price out maxing the RAM to 64GB & getting two 1TB SSD, which I had the expectation of being a lot more expensive than it turned out.

All in All, the only thing I was considering as a possible missed element was the Intel Gen 11 CPU’s that where recently announced. I want to see one in action more than had to have it now though. Now I just want to get the concept super chair with roll out display! 1st time I saw it, a lifetime of dreaming as a gamer became a reality, along with the reality I wouldn’t ever be able to afford it!
So, NVidia has stated, that every Seller of RTX30XX Laptops has to give us explicit Info about the performance. Usually producers tell the TDP.

I can't find anything on Razers Homepage yet. When do you plan to inform us?

Still a beast. Still the best. The all-new Razer Blade 15 now sports the latest Nvidia GeForce RTX 30 Series graphics to take on the most demanding games. Our flagship gaming laptop boasts a buttery-smooth 360Hz FHD display (with 240Hz QHD G-SYNC option available) in the smallest 15" RTX gaming laptop body out there. Available for pre-order at Razer.com and RazerStores near you: https://www.razer.com/gaming-laptops/razer-blade

where do i start like this pc has the most (looking at it cause i dont have it) clean and slieek design it look like i can run the best game of valorant on this pc

Received my blade 15 RTX 3070 165Hz.

Received the following benchmark results.

Strangely there seems to be a problem with the internal display not detecting the high refresh rate. Reaching out to support team seperately

Thanks for posting! The GPU score looks good for a lower TDP RTX 3070 (maybe 13% better than the Blade 15 with RTX super 2070 max-q?). What settings did you have before running the benchmark or was this out of the box as-is? The Aero with the RTX 3080 hit 9646 graphics (105W TDP) as another data point.

Out of the box with all the newest drivers that is available. System on performance mode via razer synapse. Also I ran this on native 1440p if that matters

IGN posted a review of the MSI GS66 Stealth (https://www.ign.com/articles/msi-gs66-stealth-review). Their unit had the QHD 240hz screen wth G-Sync and Advanced Optimus. The same one the new Razer Blade 15 Advanced is using. They mentioned some issues which concern me:

“It’s a good system for enhancing battery life, but it’s not without its hiccups. With integrated graphics, you’re limited to a 60Hz refresh rate, which is a noticeable drop in fluidity even when moving the mouse. I often opted to use the RTX 3080 when running on battery, but this had its own issue: if I left it on “Nvidia GPU Only” the laptop’s display would often not turn on following a reboot, forcing me to restart it a second time.”

Can anyone confirm if this is true? With Advanced Optimus you only get 60hz running on iGPU? And if you change to dGPU only the display intermittently doesn’t come on? This would be a show stopper for me and I was considering the new Blade

The drop to 60Hz when switched to the integrated GPU would not surprise me. From what I have seen, it is questionable if that iGPU is even capable of 240Hz @ QHD. Even if it was, that would require more power which is not what we want when in that mode of power saving. The hiccup on reboot sounds like an issue that is possibly firmware/software related and might be specific (and also likely addressable) in the MSI laptop.

I would assume (?) that if you go to the Windows Graphics setting and select say Edge and specify to use the dGPU that you would get that while using Edge. The great thing about Advanced Optimus is suppose to be that it can dynamically switch to dGPU when needed and little to no cost.

I have the Blade Advanced 15 with RTX 3080 and QHD on order and the Stealth review doesn't change my mind. The big selling points to me are the hope for a better productivity laptop (i.e. using on my lap, coding or browsing, on battery with good PPI for a 15.6" display, usable for 4 to 5 hours) while also being a better gaming laptop (i.e. using on desk, playing high FPS with crisp graphics, DLSS, low response time, high refresh rate, plugged into wall power).

BTW - Since the Blade 15 supports 20V USB-C chargers with PD 3.0 I am planning to be able to take a very light-weight USB-C cable with me to plug in to convenient USB-C charging (much more convenient that having to drag power-brick with me everywhere). Doing so requires access to such chargers of course.

BTW - What is surprising to me most in that review of the Stealth is the battery test. The reviewer is saying the Stealth with Advanced Optimus RTX 3080 and 99WH battery had *worse* battery life (5:44) as compared to the Blade with RTX 2080 Super (6:14) with 80WH battery. That is a really puzzling result.

The reply I got from razer support:

"
To set your expectations, when the GPU Mode is in NVIDIA Optimus, the screen refresh rate cannot be adjusted. In order to change the screen refresh rate, you need to change the GPU Mode to “Dedicated GPU only”.
Try to change the GPU Mode from the Synapse program to “Dedicated GPU Only” and reboot the laptop after."

However. I am experiencing the issue of the laptop screen not powering on after switching optimus off. And with it On, in game settings still only show 60hz lock on the screen. I certainly think this is a bug. Still waiting for a better reply from the higher support team.

I suspect is the panel issue rather than optimus fault. In Windows settings it doesn't even show that my panel is capable of anything other than 60hz
Would be a shame if we are limited to 60 with optimus (igpu active).

Hope they can fix this, since I believe the igpu should be able to handle at least 120@1440. With 120 on igpu, battery should be not be that bad compared to 60, but the screen/mouse should be smooth while not gaming (browsing web etc).

Will do some testing myself when my blade 15 advanced (3070) arrives. If this can’t be fixed I may be returning, since 60 restriction on a 240 display/laptop (when not using dgpu) is a joke.

If I am get this correct, with dgpu you get 240, in the very moment you exit the game/app using dgpu and switching back to igpu the display sets it self to 60 and there is no way to change this (even not through windows display settings etc itself)? So if you want your display to refresh higher then 60 while browsing web for example you have to use dgpu only? But when you do dgpu only sometimes the display will not turn on?!

Not that advanced this optimus if this is true...
Hola gente soy nuevo :v

:wink_: Pre-Order Right Now Insiders!

I wish I could as much as I love both of my Razer Laptops, but with this release I do wish I wouldn't have bought one of them so I could pre-order the 30 series version. Oh, and it's kind of funny too, because I have bought both laptops within the last four months, so I love the laptops I bought for sure but because they are brand new pretty much, it sucks a little because the 30 series is such a huge jump from the 20 series.

I can't confirm as apparently the one I receive was a faulty panel o.o. Waiting for a exchange.

Thanks for the responses. These are definitely show stopper issues for me with the new Blade. So disappointing 😞

Previously I wrote that there were some issues with my panel. Turns out its due to the newest nvidia geforce driver causing issues.

I rolled back the driver and disable optimus. Now the desktop is running at 165hz on my blade 15 3070.

Really? That’s great to hear. What about if you set to dGPU on that driver? Does the screen consistently come on after reboot?

As of now everything seems working like it should.

Great thank you. Which driver version is working correctly?

Driver 457.63
very disappointed. no AMD 5000 series and only 8GB of video memory on the highest end models .. sorry Razer but that is too little to justify this pricing.

The only issues for now is thunderbolt port certification. Once this is more mainstream then maybe they will consider.
Major NVIDIA driver issues with the new 2021 Blade 15 Base 3070. Black screen with the new drivers. Lots of people are having the same issue. Razer needs to get it fixed!
