//currently working a bit with afterburner and throttlestop to optimize.
///Afterburner often ends in BSOD and Thottlestop wont help, so far

But still great performance

Here’s the tear down and benchmark review.

This would be a nice upgrade

It looks very big, if the size of the machine can be reduced, then it will be perfect

That’s called the Core V2.

I'm interested in this core x. One question, I've a wacom mobilestudio pro 13" with 3 USB-C.
It will work with my computer? Thanks for anyone will reply.
Thank you.

No unfortunately, those usb c I believe don’t support Thunderbolt technology, so far I know for tablet only Asus transformer Pro that could run with external gpu setting through its port.

Hi!

*AwEsOmE* product!! If i had not yet gotten my Razer Stealth + CoreV2, I might have stayed on the mac side with that! :)
I really like the direction where this is going, this is exactly the kind of product that moves computer gaming in general (mac&pc) forward!!
Way to go, Razer!!

Can’t you use also v2 for your Mac? I think nvidia cards isn’t supported yet but amd is already.

+1 for the "poor man's" option.
Look at the measurements for both, then look at the GPU size. Just from reading, At least the X will do.
What are you using the Titan for? Alot of AI research?

Out of curiosity, what notebook would you be hooking up to this? If the 8th gen notebooks are in play, I dont think bottleneck will be to much of an issue.
But...But..no chroma? 😢
Mwahhhhhhhhhhh NNNNOOOOO

You can buy the razer hardware development kit for $80 and a $20 hub and you have it all while saving $100 🙂

Will it fit in a Razer Bag?

No it’s too big, get Core v1 or 2 it’ll fit Razer messengers bag with stealth...If you’re okay carrying 7Kg device on your bag though:)

Looks great. definitely making me want to switch to portable laptop with a powerful home base.
So, just in case I missed it, this can be used with any laptop?

Yes if it has thunderbolt port, i would TB3 with PCIE 3x4 lanes like on Blade laptops though.

No.

Perfect example of wrong or misleading information on the internet.

The Razer Core or Core X require a Thunderbolt 3 port, which has a 40Gbps speed. These ports utilize USB-C, but beware: not all USB-C ports are TB3 as well.

i feel like i need to make sure i have a share-worthy battlestation before i can even think of getting this beauty..
I'm still settling in with my lovely new Blade Stealth and have been drooling over the Core v2. Now this... this is a piece of kit! Firmly at the top of the wishlist.
So a Core and Core V2 but with a bigger (generic ATX) PSU, no USB/Ethernet ports, and lower price?

I get the appeal of being a pure eGPU (if you are a mac user, at least) but having a eGPU+dock+charger is really nice!

I'm sure razer will sell dozens of these things, for sure more than they sold of the old core, because mac compatibility, and every other egpu box out there looks like an undergrad project gone wrong.

Got it, thanks again. What's the 100W spec for the CoreX for then anyway?

MacBook Pro, especially 15 one? Or maybe if they refresh it with 6 cores cpu it’ll need more than current 85 Watt ac adapter.

This is nice. $299 is the sweet spot for this!

Awesome piece of hardware for desktop performance at home while using a mobile gaming rig. Although i feel the PSU could be slightly more powerful. 650W doesnt seem future proof enough...

What? This is one of biggest PSU you can found on eGPU enclosure nowadays, and it’s using normal size Fans that user can easily upgrade it them self, which GPU are you using? I bet amd Vega that power hunger. I think it could maintain Vega 64 too, btw with 500 Watt PSU on my core v2 I can run 1080ti without problems.
Can someone tell me whats the difference between this razer Core X and the Core V2? (https://www.razer.com/gaming-laptops/razer-core-v2) which one should I get and why?

Thanks 😃
So I can asume Core V2 is a better option for me if I don't have a Mac? I have a gaming laptop (not razer) so if I buy the Core V2 I will take more advantage of my laptop right?

ThirdDegreePun
Razer Core X is Mac Compatible and doesn't have USB ports or chroma lighting, but is cheaper.

Core V2 has USB ports, ethernet and chroma, but you pay for it. May not be mac compatible (varies).
Oh my god ....
