Just saw they have the 2060 144hz 9th gen available.. think this is the best choice for running WoW? I could get the higher 2070 or 2080 with the 240hz but will that be a bit overkill? I currently have a msi raider with a 1060.. and it runs awesome but i really want a run with Razer. Any input would be appreciated.

They have made my unit picked up by star track and acknowledged its receipt but niw, they don't know the whereabouts of my unit. They kept on asking for time to look for my laptop, and now, it has been a month. Can someone please help me on this? Thank you!
jMOCNYYes for The game I think it won’t reach 200fps even with 2080maxq, 144Hz would be sweet spot. But since your GE63 Raider? is a great laptop, with Razer maybe I would go with advanced model, 9th gen cpu Blade 15 2060 is updated base model 2018 with smaller battery capacity and normal heat sink, so advanced model (2070/2080 maxq) will give you new experience with better battery life and vapor chamber heat sink, beside better performance update over your Gtx 1060. But if you play rarely other titles and battery life isn’t matter maybe 2060 Blade mid 2019 also isn’t bad choice and you’ll get extra port ethernet and a free 2.5 storage slot.

What is everyone's opinion on if its worth buying a gaming laptop like this or me building my own desktop? Just curious as ill be coming into some money and would really like a nice gaming rig.

KidsGoldenThis really depends on how and where you will be spending your time. Based on your question, the how is gaming, so if you want the flexibility of doing that anywhere, then get a gaming laptop. An added benefit over a custom built desktop rig is that you'll have a warranty for the first year, and with Razer, you can extend for up to three years. Just remember that with Max-Q RTX, a comparable desktop equivalent is one designation down, i.e., a Max-Q RTX 2080 is roughly equivalent to a desktop RTX 2070 in performance. Personally, nothing beats a custom built rig, you'll know every part of it and it is upgradable. Your laptop will be dated the second you buy it and you'll only be able to upgrade the memory and storage. Your custom built rig on the other hand can be torn down to the case, and even that can be changed out if you want. I also think for a longer gaming session, a desktop setup is more comfortable, however if you go with a laptop, chances are that you'll wind up using an external keyboard, mouse, and monitor for most of your gaming anyway. Hope this perspective helps!

I got the Advanced OLED yesterday and I have to say, of any laptop I have, including my MacBook Pro, it is hands down and far away the best screen I have ever seen on a laptop. OLED on a Razer is a match made in heaven! I originally thought the HD Advanced would be enough, but my applications (not games) require 4K, so this is perfect. Colors are crisp, vibrant and not overly saturated. I'll post some benchmarks from both the Advanced 15 HD Max-Q 2080 and the Advanced 15 OLED Max-Q2080 since the CPU and chipsets are different. Good job Razer!!

Try go to nvidia controll Panel by right clicking, 3D setting and on program apps change MH world exe file from global/balanced to maximum performance nvidia graphic. Once I changed it, the program runs always on nvidia.

TrickyGizmoSo I got the same laptop as you yesterday and I agree the screen is amazing. I’m running into a problem and was wondering if you’re seeing the same thing. Games that support HDR aren’t see omg the OLED panel as HDR capable and wont allow me to turn HDR on in their menus. I’ve tested Sekiro and Resident Evil 2 so far and both don’t work. The HDR setting in the menu for both games is greeted out. I have tried with both the toggle on and off for “HDR games and apps” in the Windows 10 settings. I know both games work properly when they can detect a HDR display because I have my desktop connected to a LG OLED and HDR in those games work perfectly on it.

Has anyone posted their pc mark 8 or pc mark 10 benchmarks of this laptop? I'm curious. I'm in the very low 4000's and I'm a bit surprised. This is the 9th gen advanced model with a 2080.
SlaymetenderFor gaming laptops maybe users post more 3Dmark, PC Mark 10 is for office pc benchmarks. However apparently your score is quite low for the hardware, did it run on ac adapter or battery? Try also run on Synapse costum max performance both gpu and cpu. I think you should get over 5K overall score.

Yes, this was on ac adapter. I didn’t see any difference when setting synapse to performance. I was thinking, maybe that feature is disabled. I’ll take another look in the morning. I compared to an older Alienware laptop I had, and that score was 150 pats less, but using a sixth gen cpu and 1070. I’m happy this is higher, but marginally. I bet I’m missing a checkbox or something.
SlaymetenderMaybe it’ll be better run 3Dmark than PCMark, i think that’s more suitable for high end PC, and when I’m not wrong even Blade stealth with ulv cpu scored almost close to Blade 15 with dgpu which made me thinking that PCMark 10 isn’t suitable for benching Blade performance. 3Dmark isn’t as long as PCMark 10. This’s my Blade 15 with rtx 2080 Razer Core setting score, but the improvement only very minimum over dgpu, which is unusual on my usage gaming, even on worst case, egpu biggest bottleneck area @1080p it should be minimum 5% performance gain. Thanks for sharing. This did allow me to figure out just what was and what wasn't working. The first thing I did when I got this machine was swap out the SSD for a larger one, then installed windows and all the software to control the machine. Eventually I optimized all the settings to achieve non throttling results, and yes, our scores are very similar now. Whew! Now I get to enjoy the machine!
