Hi

I have downloaded and been trying out Synapse Beta. It is a lot faster, but I have found some bugs with the macro’s which can sometimes render that part of Synapse unable to be used.

MAKECODE BUG

It started with me installed the new Synapse, and importing some macros I had exported from Synapse 3, to the Beta. The <Makecode> XML tags are not correct when importing to Beta, unless this has been changed on purpose.

Here is an example:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/18tF-npqIRRT8GXm-5fHK9B2A14GzJJWE/view

That is an exported macro from Synapse 3. With these Makecodes:

29 - CTRL

80 - Down Arrow

72 - Up Arrow

77 - Right Arrow

When this macro is imported to Synapse Beta, the keybinds have changed to Numpad. The exported macro has these Makecodes:

17 - CTRL

98 - Numpad 2

104 - Numpad 8

102 - Numpad 6

I am not sure if this is intentional, but this effectively renders all macros from Synapse 3 useless. Left click even becomes right click.

DUPLICATION BUG

See this video (ignore the music, didn’t realise it was capturing it at the time):

When you duplicate a macro, and change the duplicated macro, it changes the original one you duplicated it from, but not copying the new duplicated one. For example:

For example, if I have a macro that:

keydown - up arrow

keyup - up arrow

keydown - left arrow

keyup - left arrow

And I duplicate this macro and change the duplicated one, when going back to the original one it may look like:

keydown - up arrow

keydown - right arrow

keyup - down arrow

keydown - down arrow

KEYUPS CHANGING TO KEYDOWNS

See this image:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1pCHoH8QPU1LV4iIWIgBQuXZfJGP1_HGr/view?usp=sharing

The red circled events were key down and key up, but having going back to it after some time these have changed to key down, key down, key down, key down, etc.

Here is what I have tried:

  • Reinstalling Synapse Beta
  • Uninstalling it and going back to Synapse 3
  • Installing Synapse Beta again with a Razer test account
  • Restarting computer countless times
  • Problem happens regardless of account, install location, etc.

Also, the BlackShark V2 Pro is a hit or miss when appearing in there, and when it does it looks like this: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1JnpS26LgNb-BtCtKBedvG9fqKLjV43F5/view?usp=sharing

Welcome to the life of a beta tester.

I would suggest you click on the second icon on the left of your profile pic on Synapse Beta. It is actually a 9-dot squared icon. Then click on the "Feedback" green icon and send all of your bad experiences to them so they can improve the new Synapse as soon as possible.

I have a bunch of macros, almost 240 ones. Imagine the headache I would have importing it all, one by one. I'll import only the really needed ones, change what goes wrong, and report the bug with the feedback feature.

And my Tartarus Pro is not supported yet.

Good luck to all of us and for the team that is supporting this new Synapse Beta. At least macro is finally managed as smoothly as all I wanted. And hey, we can sort it by alphabetical order! Wow!

Are you saying that macros are finally working on the beta? Last time I had it installed the macros weren’t working at all. Razer Naga Pro V2, just for the record

They work if you create them as a New Macro, but even then they can mess up as sometimes also, even when a keyup event is there it does not register. Do not duplicate any macros, do not import any macros.

Yeah, that doesn’t work. I filled a report about DAV3 now working and three different support persons asked the same question three times. After that I gave up. The fact that DAV3 is broken in Synapse 4 since first public beta in January speaks for itself.

Well, it imports macro but I think it has some bugs you need to adjust manually. I have not tested the macros yet cause I was reading the exclusive Beta Forum: The New Razer Synapse | Razer Chroma App Open Beta | Razer Insider to understanding how it is going on, and I found this interesting post: Known Issues | Razer Insider

I'm planning to import some macros as I need, and then adjust them one by one. But, yeah, I mean, no, according to the last link in this post of mine, importing a macro is not working yet as it would mean to.
