Just a scam. It's the old razer surround software (which was free and was broke by razer just before the "new" THX release) with a new user interface. Pitiful...


How is the 7.1 surround sound broken? I guess I bought my headset just days before the THX release, so I never saw the "old" user interface. I've been using the "default" 7.1 surround sound software wtih no issues since I installed it.

If you have a THX enabled headset that unlocks the feature in Synapse 3, then you don't need to buy this standalone software. This software bring the THX thing to ANY audio device (usb, onboard jack, etc...) and any headset then.
It's an upgrade of the 7.1 Surround software we were given free with a 2019 Kraken, which was already an upgrade of the Razer Surround (synapse2 era). Buy it if you want to have THX (it would mean that you are happy with it) on any system that doesn't have a Synapse3/THX enabled device (like the Kraken TE or the Nari).


I can also "wrap" my 7.1 Surround software around any audio devide (usb, onboard jack) so I really don't see how what you describe there is much different (well, I guess the sound quality, but I haven't actually tried out the THX demo yet). And, are you saying THX is free with Kraken headphones? Coz with my Kraken X Lite headphones (which do have 7.1 support; I got a free key for 7.1 Surround software with them), it is still asking me to pay for the upgrade to THX.

I don't know the quality difference between 7.1 and THX software in terms of quality nor if it is worth upgrading. I haven't tried the THX software demo either. My point was that the standalone software for THX is running like the 7.1 separate software, so yes, you can use it with any audio device. And yes, the Kraken TE (through the USB dongle) and the Nari headsets (I have the Essential) unlocks the THX but WITHIN Synapse 3. They do not give a free key for the THX software. So my other point is that if you want THX with any audio outputs, then you need to purchase the standalone software. If you don't, then in Synapse 3, the THX tab will be unlocked when a THX certified headset is detected by Synapse (the kraken TE usb DAC and the Nari usb transmitter - the wireless headset has to be on and paired). See picture attached.
And yes, the 7.1 software is not broken, I got a free key - by registering a Kraken 2019 headset - and activated it the very last week.

sounds amazing on my Blackshark V2, but I want to disable it automatically when using chrome for example (watching YT videos)
Music sounds worse with it enabled.

Hi, I recently bought the Razer Kraken TE that comes with the THX Spatial audio. I have a mac and want to run the software in order to use the THX Spatial audio, but the software is only supported for windows. I have tried downloading the 7.1 Surround Sound and both Razer Synapse 2 and 3 using wine, but being unable to run either of them. I was wondering what other way is there to run these softwares while still having a Mac OSX.

Can't wait to try with my Kraken once i'll be back home.

I've got the Kraken 7.1 (V1) since many years and my wife has the V2, they're durable and with great sound, you should try it.

I've had the V2s for 2 years at this point and I can only recommend them soundwise! The Chroma implementation still works with Synapse 2 tho, so if you're looking for a full Synapse 3 Chroma Setup maybe check something else.

Unless it is proven to actually support games and movies that have Spatial Sound already, it is atually WORSE than Dolby. I will try making some tests later today to confirm that, because I LOVE it when audio pages explain absolutely nothing about what they're selling.

EDIT: Just checked, it does NOT support true Spatial audio in games that support it. A pity, but I'm sadly not surprised either.


Its been updated and supports the API to include a so far small list of games that I cant find lol I launch Metro Exodus and the built in Dolby worked.

Not sure why they don't list the games and why not all of them work I tried to launch borderlands 3 to find out spatial audio API wouldn't work. So it seems they are slowly but surely adding it, which makes it better than Dolby app I have this Dolby app and the DTS app. The only thing I wish this app had that DTS has is non razr headphone hrtf's for my m50x.

I have a razer kraken and want to claim my razer 7.1 surround code, but I lost my box for it, is there anything I can do still?

I bought a razer blackshark v2 X today, and it came with the license activation code for surround sound 7.1, however when i tried to key in the activation code, it says license code invalid.

Anyone faced similar issues?

Anyone experience high CPU usage for Windows Audio Device Graph Isolation when using THX in Synapse 3? If I end the process it goes back down to around 0.5% - 2% but as days goes by, the CPU usage slowly climbs till it reaches 50% (of the 9700K). This has been happening since August of 2019 and I tried everything; reinstall drivers and clean install Synapse 3 multiple times, multiple versions, gone from Win 10 version 1901 to 2004 . So far the only solution is to disable and not use THX (using the Nari - Game Audio as the default device). Will this bug ever be fixed?

I was wondering what do I do if I accidentally threw away the box with the code for 7.1 in it?? I kinda was an idiot and I don't wanna pay 19.99 extra for another code..... HELP

You could try to register your headset in your account with the Serial number. The serial number is hidden under your left ear pard if i remember well. Product registration web url is https://www.razer.com/product-registration
You'll be sent a 7.1 licence activation code
