Lighting of Razer Huntsman Elite Shift Modified Keys

So, just bought this keyboard. It is amazing in every single way. But is it me or should someone get fired over the shift key modified buttons (i.e. ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( <>?:{}) ect ect ect are not lit? Why? How does that make any sense? And not only that; they are dark in color and not like white so that one can easily see them.

They number keypad has multiple things lit besides the numbers? What gives?

Seriously, not sure who decided on this. I love this keyboard and right now I am actually considering returning it for this huge oversight.

Am I missing something or is there a setting in the software that lights these up?

Thanks,
Tamer

If this is truly by design; do you like this feature/bug?

For me every single key have light 😛 the only key where you cant see the icon is 3 multimedia keys on right upper side and top of multi dial key. Can you give a picture with your issue it will be simple to help you or answear your question.
Did I mention how beautiful this keyboard is. Please refer to the images attached to this comment. Please look very closely at the number keys row on top right underneath the F Keys.

From ` to =

All are primary.

However, if you hit shift; instead of 1 you get ! (bang).

Instead of = when you hit shift + = key you get +

Same for all the others. 2 @ 3 # 4 $ and on and on.

So, those keys. When lit the only part of the key that lights is the primary key and not the shift version.

So, in the dark, real quick, where is the "underscore" or _ or the "asterisks" or * key?

I am amazed that these items are not lit in some or anyway. You cannot see them in the dark at all.

This has to be a huge oversight. Or I am extremely ill equipped technically to handle the software that powers this keyboard (have worked successfully in the IT field since the early 90s)

It's their design direction probably, for not lighting up all the symbols. guess from a gamer's point of view, it's not that critical (unless you're having a spam rage in game... *&@#^$!!!!!!!!). Anyway I'm using huntsman elite too, it's a great keyboard.

However I do agree that from daily usage wise it would have been better if the symbols on keycaps are illuminated. You may try searching compatible keycaps to swap out. Due to razer's keyboard layout, you won't be able to swap all the keys but the numeric and alphabets should be fine. Someone actually did swap out the keycaps; /huntsman-elite-key-question.42673/#post-458458
Thanks for the response. Yes, it is an amazing keyboard and I love it. And it would be the most amazing keyboard ever if it had just that one thing. I will look into switching the keys out. The thing is; I know the focus is on gamers. And I game a lot. But I also use my computer for other functions outside of gaming as I am sure many other people do. We are not all professional gamers that are buying this keyboard. LOL 😛 Again, thank you for your response. I will look into switching out the keys to make it more usable during normal use. Again, even if they were more white; would have been way better than the 75% gray. I know I maybe old and going blind. But come on! LOL 😛

Haha.. no worries, i definitely understand where you're coming from. I do have to write reports from time to time, and I had to open up my curtain to have a brighter room in order to see my keys clearer, but resulted in glares on my monitor. o_O I just find it a waste to give up a good keyboard due to that part, so switching out the keycaps might be the best options, i guess? Cheers! :smile_:

well, I just purchased some keys from WASD...Will see how they fit. They are completely lighted properly!
