If you don't mind me asking: what grip tape did you buy -- did you get it through Razer?

I should have pointed out you actually get enough tape to do the mouse twice so it was actually a better deal than I was expecting it to be. Really accurate cutout, as I said.

I did, it’s silly expensive for what you get but it’s very precisely cut and since I was shelling out for the mouse anyway it didn’t seem the right moment to save a couple bucks

I've had this for a couple days, I like it. No issues really, I occasionally accidentally right click. It's the small side of large. I use grip tape on the clickers, I didn't try it without it

I'm excited to see if this mouse is a good fit for me. Arrives in the mail tomorrow!

OK, so there is an issue: as others have experienced the Viper 8kHz is not recognized on reboot and I have to re-plug it to get it to start. I'll report that through Synapse as well

I NEED THIS

not really... games are unplayable at 4000hz and 8000hz setting so the mouse isn't really usable to its full potential until the bugs are patched

I NEED THIS
few things..

1. league of legends above 2000hz laggy/stuttering unplayable
2. other games have varying levels (I think valorant goes up to 4000hz)

questions...

1. Does the 0.125ms left click latency work at 2000hz for example or does it need to be in 8000hz polling for that?
2. When will this mouse show up/ get validated for Nvidia reflex low latency analyzer (other razer mice are already in there... why not the fastest and best one?)
3. Are there plans for new firmwares/ beta firmwares / ideas on when game devs will patch their games for the 8khz?
4. Lastly, do USB controllers have limits with low latency devices (ie. 4k hz keyboard + 8k hz mouse on same bus causing jitter/lag)

Thx-
will there be a basilisk version of this tech? I much prefer the ergo there and would like to know

Makes sense.
What about the device not connecting when Windows start? I need to unplug and plug the usb cable every time Windows is booted or waken.
This seems to be a common issue also, found more users in the internet with the same behavior.

I had once similar issue with mouse not working at windows start (but all lights, and sensor was ON).
I've updated motherboard drivers it fixed the issue for me.

8kHz surely will be more CPU intensive.
It reminds me old times, when I've got Razer Copperhead on old Pentium 4 CPU - I had massive drops on 1000Hz.

Same issue with fps drops when using 8000hz, it's unplayable with this setting. I have to go all way back to 1000hz to play decently.
Any word from Razer about this matter?

I'm having this problem as well.

Same thing in Apex Legends, but it's playable at 4000khz o_O

I've been able to get so much done with all this extra time I've been saving thanks to this mouse. :cool_:

AWESOME MOUSE I WANNA ADD THIS TO MY SET UP SOON
satingh0strider
Seriously doubt this would be the fix as it seems to be at a hardware level. The cold boot does not even power up the device and that is the problem.

The fastest way to replicate this is to shutdown your system. Turn off the main power and press the PC power button 2 or 3 times. Then turn back the power on and boot up. You can't even enter the bios as the device is unable to be powered up.

I do think this can be fixed only via a firmware update but question is how long? Razer has been dragging their legs for a fix as simple as this.

Disregard my last statement. Replacing the old driver did not fix the issue. Cold booting the PC as you've described makes this issue appear consistently.

Please Razer Fix this issue!!!! If I plug in my old Glorious Model O- into the same port as the Razer, it works perfectly everytime. 100% a firmware issue.
