Android 9 Pie
With the recent release of Android 9 Pie, I was wondering if there was any official news on if the Razer Phone was going to be getting that release.

You guys won't believe it but, I checked for an update on my Razer 1 and guess what?
No Pie.

Wish Razer was just a bit more open with their phone plans....the RP1 hasn't had an update in what, 6 months? It's still on last July's security update.

I think they're trying to migrate all 1 owners to the 2 with that discount to avoid development for the 1.

How do you know it's Singtel model by looking at build number. How does THREE build number look like?
Three build numbers have "CHK" in them so that's easy to tell.
SIngtel however are the only ones with the build number ending in 1136

That build number indicates that it more than likely is a singtel model yes. You can flash the OTA file (doesnt void warranty) to go to the proper unlocked builds if you wish LINK
You know what, I took a leap of faith and got the OTA image, side loaded it via Recovery mode...
all the while praying that it will go smoothly...
And it sure did went smoothly.
My unit is now updated to Pie. #rejoice

Thanks for your quick reply. Much appreciated. But considering that its a Singtel model, I'll give it a wait for the Pie update to be push out.

I got my device last year in Nov 18 via a parallel importer. Immediately after I started the device, the update came in at 650MB.
Can you confirm if its a Singtel unit?

It looks like you're using the phone on Singtel? If so yeah the update isnt available for you yet. However you can sideload it using the OTA link and using adb if you wish.

Is the build number for my unlocked device RZ35-0259 is the correct one? Build number is O-MR0-RC009.2-RZR-181013.1136. The device is running Android 8.1.0 on October 5, 2018 security patch. Kernel version is 4.9.65-perf+ (gcc version 4.9.x 20150123 (prerelease) (GCC)).
I am expecting the Android 9 update to be pushed to my device, however I have yet to receive it.
