Can you tell me if connection like 50cm to 30cm to 50 to 30 is possible ? This give me the lenth i need to cover main tabletop 😛
Can this be extended with APA104 (etc) strips from alibaba et al and extra power? Or is it something proprietary?

Not that there's anything wrong with AP104 strips but the synapse integration would be neat...

Buy More Kit´s and use the extension cable to get to the HDK xD
I Put it in my Case, had no problems with the length :)

If you want to lay the strips around your table, I would put the HDK in the middle of the table (below) and with a slightly longer Micro USB to the desktop PC.
The power supply for the HDK is a bit more complicated ...

Or you can expect a continuous fairy lights with app function and steer them thus :D

Not possible because you cannot extend the damn lightstrip by connecting lightstrip to lightstrip.
Only works this way tho but the power supply for 3rd options maybe will make the light goes dim and dimmer....

1. Lightstrip > HDK > Lightstrip
2. Lightstrip > Extender Cable > HDK > Extender Cable > Lightstrip
3. Lightstrip > Extender Cable > HDK > Extender Cable > HDK > Extender Cable> Lightstrip
Nice. I do have several questions:

1) What's the deal with the oversized 20-pin plugs? I can't imagine all of those pins are needed/active.
2) I see that the strips show dotted lines on them, is that where the strips can be cut?
3) Are the strips standard or are they proprietary? Could we wire other strips, like Neopixels to work with it?
4) Is the maximum limit of leds per channel purely a hardware limit, or is there also a software limit? What I mean is it possible to power the strips from another source and use the box to control them? Can we set the number of leds in the software or is that done through hardware (like an extra wire on the strip).

The lightstrip only have 1 side can be connected to anything.

So if i want expand one strip to 3x strip with one connection on module i cant do it ? I must use one strip on every connection on module it's little confusing 😜 On hue strip on the end i have little hole connections to expand the strip to another i assume here i cant ?

Edit:
So i contact razer us support and ask about this. In short they sad i can connect strip to strip and extend it without extended cable and there is no limit of lengh but strip can go dimmer. Can someone confirm that ? I cant find any photo of end of strip to confirm that on the end is connector hole 😛

Yeah. In hue they have little connection in both end of the strip but in Razer Lighstrip as you can see on the left side one only 1 side connection not both side.

  • The 20-pin plugs are all active - each LED is controlled in parallel, as opposed to regular LED strips that are controlled in a series. This allows a change in any LED along the strip on demand - otherwise we would have gone for regular LED strips.
  • Yes, the dotted lines indicate the recommended cutting areas.
  • They are proprietary due to the 20-pin connector.
  • The LED per channel is because of the above, 20-pins to control each LED individually.

Ahh, thanks for the explanation.

Order Support (5.05.2019, 16:46:04): Here's the link for the LED strip that you need to purchase in order to complete the 150cm https://www.razer.com/gaming-accessories/razer-chroma-hdk-light-pack
Me (5.05.2019, 16:46:59): yes this i know but i must connect one strip to one port or i can connect strip to strip and expand it :P
Order Support (5.05.2019, 16:48:15): It can be connected, xxx.
Me (5.05.2019, 16:49:16): so i can in this case to connect strip to strip i need to use expand cable or it can be connect just strip to strip ?
Order Support (5.05.2019, 16:49:44): It can be connected just strip to strip, xxx.

This is small portion of talk i have before with support. @xCryptik can you cheack the end of strip it have or dont have the connection hole this becose i dont get it. Yeah on photo i saw this before the end is cover by plastic cover araoud the strip on tech support they say it can be connected becose it have connection. I want to be 100% sure becose if there is no waay to expand one strip to leangh i need there is no point changing the hue strip but if strip have this small connector hole and i can expand it this will give better overwall feel of chroma in setup.

Yeah. That end cover is covered by plastic cover doesn't have connector only a dead end plastic cut but I feels weird tech support said it can be connected lightstrip to lightstrip...

CHROMATASTIC !
yes!!! now I can make my toaster chroma xD
Any info on how many LEDs per meter there is?
Also, what's the color depth in bits?

I'm asking this because I want a really smooth color transition.
Hi guys, can anyone verify if HDK is working with the Chroma Visualizer app built in synapse 3, every peripheral works on my end when using Chroma Visualizer aside from the HDK which would just stay static into whatever color it was before running Chroma Visualizer.

I have reinstalled synapse 3 and 2 already and everything but the issue persist.

Also another thing to note: HDK works when I use the old third party audio visualizer app but my problem when using it is that my Tartarus V2 wont work on audio visualizer as It would just display static light.
And so it begins. 😃 I wonder what is next!
