Paid to Play - Post Relaunch

Been seeing a ton of positive feedback and loads of complaints on Paid to Play. I realize a lot of the complaints come from demands that we should raise the cap. In short we won't be raising the cap on P2P though we may add new ways of earning Razer Silver. With that in mind, i doubt we will stop hearing the complaints - what do you guys think? Should we shut down all the free ways of earning Razer Silver and just go back to the standard - buy stuff and get loyalty points (like every other company) or should we continue to find free ways to give loyalty points (and get a ton of complaints?) What do you guys think?

Would love to see RazerPay rewarding zSilver for every $x spent.
We might do that in the future.

Of course not! Many of us were happy that you brought P2P back! It would be a shame to shut it down because of vocal minority. I believe that most of the community still appreciates the program, and shutting it down would be a punish for us, too. :frown_:
Honestly, the "vocal minority" in this case creates a bad environment for everyone else. So we would also like to avoid such a situation.

better shut down all the free ways.... no matter you want there is always complaint unsatisfied and ungreatful people.... I like free ways but if this method makes more negative then positive, yes it's better to shut it down.... I try softminer with my laptop and it's not working, so I uninstall it and that's it no complain....
Yes we are considering it and going back to the standard way of just rewarding our customers when they purchase products (like every other company out there). I realize that when there are free ways, it creates a lot of complaints.

honestly for 100 points a day it's not even worth it. They'll expire before you can use them anyway so it's basically just free data collection for razer. Also, closing Cortex is such a pain.. you try to close it from system tray and there are still 4 different razer services running in task manager. you close one and it opens back up. you close two and they pop back up. you have to close all of them in 5 seconds in order for cortex to stay closed.. ridiculous. it's basically spyware-like behavior. why can't the software just close when the user exits the software? Also when cortex is running it appears to set lower priority to all my other software and makes My high end computer crawl. How can I disable cortex messing with all my software?
As for the data collection by Razer, you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”) when you register to Razer software/services. Refer to https://www.razer.com/legal/terms-of-service for more details. In order to disable the Razer Cortex that messed up with all your software, you may click on Game Booster > Boost. At this part, you can either disable the auto boost if you feel that cortex set low priority to all your software OR you may untick certain processes you may not want Cortex to disable when it's in Auto Boost mode.

Do you guys think to do, with or without zSilver I keep buying your goods anyway. P2P is great service, freebies is always good. It’ll be better to make thighter policy, poeple who complain about it should banned from earning zSilver, or maybe even their Razer ID and there will be no more complain here. Maybe on Reddit, but it’s what Reddit made for;)

I agree, just shut it down, razer. It seems clear to me that you don't want us to be able to redeem anything from the p2p program with such negligible amount of zsilver. From my perspective, you just change the daily sign in bonus into a "10 minutes of playing the game of our choice" to earn that very same silver. Just admit it, and shut it down. It's fine if you don't want to give us anything, just stop pretending.
I don't understand the people like you: you don't like it, so let's shut it down for everyone else. To be clear; I don't use P2P, but I definitely don't want to be shut down anyone because I know that there are lots of people who still use this program. If you don't like it, just don't use it. Nobody forces you to do so.

Of course earning zsilver for free takes longer. There is no reason to be greedy. Otherwise it would be unfair to those who use gold. Don't stop it please.

Honestly, I don't think there is anything that can really be done to stop the complaints. I'm actually not even sure where the complaints are coming from since all I've been seeing are praises regarding Paid to Play but what I do notice is that there are a lot of people lurking around Insider and Reddit that just hates on whatever Razer does without bringing anything constructive (not sure myself why they go out of their way to post in Razer threads and forums). Rather than focusing on people that complain about promotions (they aren't likely your audience), the focus should be about the current audience who actually appreciates what Razer does. From what I gather spending a lot of time in Insider and Reddit, I believe most of the people hating are those who are unhappy with the products. My recommendation to actually help bring positive feedback to the brand name is to:
  • Improve quality control (even if you say it's top notch, it doesn't hurt to improve).
  • Increase the quality of software.
  • Give better warranty.
  • Be aggressive with competition, especially on the price of products.
  • Continue to create promotions such as Paid to Play to keep true audience happy.
  • Interact with your audience more, people like it when you post 😆.
These are my observations in my time reading through Insider and Reddit. If there is another constructive feedback I would like to give regarding the current Paid to Play is that the previous version of Paid to Play where we were able to vote for games and receive more Silver was superior so people tend to draw comparisons while forgetting that the promotion is a giveaway that doesn't really benefit the company aside from positive PR.

As somebody who has made every attempt to be a part of every single part of the razer ecosystem I have opted out of participating in the miner software. This is the first time I've not been excited, and frankly been a little disappointed, by something razer has made. To only be disappointed by a company once in a lifetime is pretty lucky imo so I'm not burning my razer collection or anything yet but I do think it is bizarre that I can't buy Razer stuff with zGold and I dont earn any of Razer's currency by participating in the most important part of the Razer ecosystem (buying razer hardware). Plus I'm absolutely sick of all the complaining from plebs that are mad that they cant have free stuff shipped to them and all that nonsense that I'm sure you hear way more about.

No offense, but I genuinely think that people couldn't make use of such negligible amount of zsilver. 50 from playing games of their choice, while we previously get similar amount (40 silver) just by clicking daily reward button while having another program which was P2P, so we had two programs. Now they shut down the login reward, and made it into P2P program. If anything they only make it harder to earn the same thing, which was the daily reward. My problem is that razer is doing this by the pretense of "We want to reward our fans with this program", but at the same time not allowing the program to give anything of significance. I just don't like that idea of false pretense and goodwill, while in fact all I get is an empty hand. I'm sure most people don't use the program as well for the very same reason, they just couldn't get anything out of it. So a question could be raised, "what's the point"?
the point is that p2p is not the only method to gain silvers! lol it was reiterated many times by minltan that what they are doing is creating an ecosystem of many free methods for fans to gain silvers. it was never meant to just gain silvers from p2p.

I love P2P keep it coming mltan. I don't know why people compline about getting free stuff ! Yes we have to pay delivery but its still gives us pore people like me and so many other millions of people like me around the world a chance to get something even if just a game or a cool hat ! Mltan please find it in your hart to listen to all the people that are saying good things about P2P ! I love that much I have already got the next P2P game downloaded and ready to go ! Bring on the 100 Zsilvers a day YES I will be saving for that cool razer hat I would love to ware on my live stream ! The majority of people that are complaining already have money or are just spoiled and greedy and want more n more in life and are never happy ! They wreck every thing for the rest of every one ! There is always going to be people in life that will complain everything in life ! Some would complain if they won a million dollars ! and had to walk a block to pick it up ! (If you let them get there way with getting rid of P2P again then the complainers have one again !).

yes i do. you think razer is your friend? they're a corporation that cares about profits. they want you to waste your electricity to mine fake coins for fake proprietary points so you can buy plastic crap. the synapse software is bloated and poorly coded, the cortex software is a complete mess (i already explained the problem above), the miner software is a total scam. they're expecting children to waste their electricity/hardware, run up their parent's power bill for some fake points. if you can't do something right, just don't do it at all. if you want to see some good rewards programs, take a look at dell/alienware or microsoft points. those are done right. think about this.. why did they cancel P2P in the first place? you really think it's because of negative feedback? every company in the world gets criticism, most can handle it. then they bring it back? at only 100 points (really 50 after this week) that'll expire in a year anyway? it's all lies
and I'm wondering why are you still in here, your hatred toward razer is beyond reason... you have the right to choose, if it's not good for you then don't bother using any razer software or their product... it's simple like that... and just like p2p, for you this is just for earning zsilver and miss the point of the program... but yeah do whatever you want mate....

thanks, i must have missed that setting.. i guess it was different in the previous version. now if they could only fix the spyware-like respawn behavior that would be great

It's a great program and a lot of hard work has gone into it, but people love to complain more than anything else. If you gave everyone a Razer Stealth there would be people that are mad it wasn't a Pro. For some reason they can't handle just not using a part of the program that they don't like. It's sad. Hopefully it doesn't get shut down again, but it's completely understandable if it does, and thanks for at least trying it unlike all the other companies. It's nicely balanced now too, all the free ways should receive smaller amounts of Silver like they are. (Mogul is nice since you can get a ton, but it's rare) Although I'd like to see the Gold spent/Silver received ratio back to where it was before or higher.:smile_:

We've got to the point where p2p silvers doesn't really make any difference, but people however still crave for more from it. Personally i think it's somehow good how it looks right now, there are other current ways of earning which most people base on. P2p is just like fun right now, for good ol'times it is, like "hmm besides voting on Mogul, and getting my achievements on Insider i have to get the 100 silvers from Cortex". The bad thing is that people actually see or want to see p2p as the main way of earning and they're upset because they can't. Anyway, those who want to farm and are loyal to the cult, will carry on with very very minor complaints if there is to be.

First of all, THANKS FOR BRINGING BACK THE PAID TO PLAY <3 This system used to be giving me some motivation to try out different game and I had found out tons of new game to play !! Also, I get a chance to win some cool prizes just for playing those games !! Ain't sure why many complaint here and there, but I have a little concern about the silver system currently... Is it possible to extend the expiry date to 2 years rather than 1 year ? Its kinda hard to utilize the point with such short expiry date, as I don't usually get much silver other than Paid to Play Just a little concern, hope it will reach to your consideration. Thanks once again XD

I think that we all should change our mindset: the past P2P was something extraordinery that was too good to be true, while we all took it for granted. I can't find any other example of a successful company that gives their products for free (ok, for playing games, but we all know that you could basically be AFK). To be honest, I think that was just a matter of time when would this program be revoked, because this was nothing but a loss for Razer (yes, there was a marketing thing, but I believe it was alltogether too expensive, specially when you take AFK farmers in consideration). Like many others said in post before this, Min said multiple times that he is changing P2P program to an auxiliary way for gathering zSilver (along with Softminer), and definitely not the main way anymore. Was I said when the initial P2P program was shut down? Yes, I was. But I accepted that, and moved on.

Maybe expanding the zgold usage.... not just for games but also for razer product, I'm not using zgold right now but if that happen I might using it a lot.... since you monitor this, I have a suggestion on razer promotion, please don't make any promotion on new product at least 2 or 3 month after the release.... it hurt so much when it happen, for example I purchase razer phone 2 two days after it release at singapore web, but then maybe 2 or 3 weeks later you bundle the phone with the accessories... I almost cry when that happen...

Sadly, wathever the choice you'll make for P2P, it'll bring complains. I too was unhappy when i learned that P2P was going to stop the first time. But i was new to Insider and it took me some time to understand what justified this decision. I miss the previous P2P system for the silver ratio. And by this time i thought that having a Razer device plugged to your PC and linked to your account was required to use it, while others had multi accounts and for a minor price of 10 bucks completely ruined what was a great community program. Like allways, it's easier to complain about something than praise it. And when you make something with a diligent heart, the tiny part (compare to the whole users/custommers) of people who shows their grief leaves some perpetual scars. But please, try to be stronger that this grumbling crowd. You must have statictic proving that P2P is still a success. It might soung greedy from me but i must admit that without the Zsilvers program, i'd never been able to have all those Razer products. But thanks to this i also promote this brand to my entourage. Thanks Razer for the devices that you make, they're durable (not so children tooth proof but nothing seems to be:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye_:) and have a good aspect. Thanks for the community that you made who allways answer (at least to me) when a problem happens. And lastly, thanks for your fidelity program that made me want to discover more of your brand. Hope that i wasn't too much of a pain to read this.
