minor solution to Tartarus diagonal movement problem

If you are running into issues where you are unable to move diagonally with the Tartarus d-pad-stick thing, the problem happens when you change the usage from the 4-way to 8 in Synapse. Not sure why it does this, and maybe Razer can get it figured out, but if your diagonal option doesn’t work, like trying to press W and A, or S and D, save your settings in the 4-way option and restart your computer. When your computer comes back on, it should be working normally. You can still change the buttons, like from WASD to the arrows, or whatever you want, but AS SOON AS YOU CHANGE IT FROM 4 TO 8 DIRECTION, even if you change it back, it will cease to work and you have to restart your computer.

Hope this helps!

Thank you! Razer should send you $120 for this; I was about to return my Tartarus.

Poking around a little bit in the program,

It looks like that when you toggle the two different states, the 4 direction state doesn’t get properly reloaded. The 8 direction state stays active in 4 direction for the intercardinals and BUT the cardinal directions are replaced with the arrow keys.

SO, the reason why diaginal movement doesnt work after switching states is because the device is sending an joystick input (X, Y) instead of multi-keyboard (W, A) for example.

So best to have this set to 4 way (NOT) 8 way.  to use as in-game joystick in lieu of WASD ?

Thank you. I thought something was wrong with the interface to Space Marine 2 which I just bought. Would have taken me a long time to figure this out!

Battlefield 6 Beta seems to have broken the Tartarus Pro for me. It refuses to see the d pad as anything but a joystick (not even the correct joystick for movement, only what would be the right joystick on a controller). Now, not even other games recognize the WASD inputs AT ALL!

No joke same issue. A full uninstall of all drivers and synapse and reinstall did not fix the issue. The dpad is only registered as a joystick now rendering it useless.

У меня все снова заработало на версии RazerSynapseInstaller_V1.22.0.737  .

I was having the same problem, raised a ticket, went back and forth with Razer Support a few times, sent logs, etc., and went back to Synapse 3 in the meantime.

I got an email today saying they’ve pushed a fix for it, and OH MY GOD IT WORKS NOW!!!

I’ve tested it, and I can now switch back and forth between 4-way and 8-way and it works exactly as it should. The version mentioned in the email was  4.0.86.2508120943, and the one I just installed shows 4.0.86.2508190742. So, yeah, hopefully the ‘restart your PC when you switch the d-pad mode’ is a thing of the past!

That's great news! I actually just ended up ordering the Azeron Keyzen since my Tartarus is 4 years old and it's about time for an upgrade anyway.
