Happened to me a few days earlier too. Mine is only 11 months but it’s already broke.
I’ll try to claim warranty but if it doesn’t work, I’ll try GuppieGreenzoneaero241’s solution.

I couldn’t claim and get it replaced. They said they’re out of stock.
So, I took it back and try this and it works!

I am having the same issue so glad to hear I am not alone. On the plus side, I have been looking for an excuse to move all my hardware to Logitech. Thanks Razer 👌

Agree with this whole thread. Very disappointed. Exact same issue 6 months after warranty expired. Went back and forth with them for over a week (including spending an hour on the phone with them), only for them to tell me it was out of warranty (which I already knew and stated as much when I first called) and offer me 10$ off my next purchase if I subscribed to their newsletter. Absurd. Have been a loyal customer for several years and have multiple Razer products.

So my Razor Kyro Camera which I have had for over a year and really like started doing the same thing...Flicking, buzzing, etc. Did updates nothing. So, I followed the instructions from GuppieGreenzoneaero241’ however I don't have a soldering gun, so I simply firmly pushed the F1 transistor on both sides and the middle. Pretty skeptical that it would not work, I put it back together and what, so you know, it lit up like a charm and is working normally.

I do agree that a web camera should last more than a year and I was 2 steps in going to a Logitech, but I like the light ring on this camera and have overall been pleased.  So we see how long it last from here. Hope this helps someone.

I'm having the same problem and it is absolutely frustrating. Went into a client meeting only to find the camera stopped working but the ring around it remained on. Felt like an idiot. I tried uninstalling the driver and razer synapse but nothing helped.

And this one is just over a year old...

Just updating this thread, bought the camera in 2021, after almost daily use when working at home, now almost daily it just stopped working. Flashing and my is switching to different camera’s. I’ve been only using Mac OS and it worked perfectly until today.

Luckily found this post and the description to bridge the F1, the camera lives again!

For all of the people coming from google, don’t be afraid to open the camera and get out you solder iron, the camera is broken but can be fixed!

Same thing happened to me a day ago. I was in a video conference when it just stop working. The light that signals the camera is on started flickering and the buzzing sound start coming from the camera.

I’ve tried many times to make it work again but it just comes to that flickering and buzzing state.

I tried registering the Product in RazerID but the Product No is not even valid with their expected length missing a whole section of the Product No required.

It’s has been so frustrated to get a hold of any Support or Warranty claim.

It’s crazy to think that Razer is selling this hardware defective devices and not making good for them when people claim remuneration.

No wonder why they have heavily discounted their WebCams right now: https://www.razer.com/store/content-creation

I was about to purchase another one given the price, but I was lucky to stumble upon this thread before buying a defective device that Razer won’t even stand by nor support.

This just started happening to me, I owned it for less than year for streaming, probably used 20 times maybe. This will sadly be my last razer product, we tried the solution to short the circuit but it didn't work. It is sadly a hardware issue and appears to be a very common issue. BUYER BEWARE.

This is bonkers, Razer.
So many people reporting the exact same issue?

This is a manufacturing fault surely?

Flashing ring-light, electric hissing sound!
Fix seems to be to remove the ring light and short an element in the device!

This is insane.
Can someone from RAZER comment on the Kiyo issues please.

This just happened to me in the middle of an interview :(

The link to fixing the hardware issue doesn’t work anymore either

radiocastPaleViolet988

Same issu here, and as @geocarGreenLizard137 say the link in the tread about F1circuit on thingiverse is dead :(

I check on google, and found some information and this image of the F1 circuit : https://cdn.thingiverse.com/assets/93/81/4d/49/e9/featured_preview_371341cd-fe12-46f8-bee0-fa0bd9460e24.jpeg

But the case in thingiverse to repar if not available anymore :’(

After a bit of search I found this solution and it does work. My camera is now fully working again.

Solution @ Thingverse

  1. Carefully remove the diffuser (white ring).
  2. Remove all the screws.
  3. Carefully detach the housing.
  4. Remove the screws on the cover plate and remove it.
  5. This is the tricky part: You have to short the F1 circuit (as shown in the image).
  6. Re-assemble the parts.
  7. Enjoy!

Hi there, where can I find the step 5 image?

streetGingerbest376

Hi razer support! I have the same issue as this user described. Is it problem solved? Can you help me pls

I found the F1 image here:

However, if this link goes bad eventually, note that all the circuits are labeled on the camera’s board. It says “F1” and its… if you put the wiring harness at the bottom, the F1 is on the bottom right.

i went out to hobby lobby got a wood burning solder gun and with no flux i fixed the f1 circuit with a glob of solder. Thanks  SOOO much to this thread i only spend 5 bucks and 5 mins of my life fixing it.

OK, just happened to my Kiyo in the middle of a meeting…

Will try the disassemble and poke, though the thingyverse instructions appear to have been taken down. :(

Found an alternative video of the fix:
