Peripherals (Mouse/Keyboard) disconnect many times | Razer Insider
Skip to main content
I'm really getting tired of this. Throughout the day both my Razer mouse and Razer keyboard disconnect and reconnect. I can be typing or hovering over something when it happens. I made sure that all USB power settings are set correctly. This doesn't happen if the Synapse software isn't installed. When using Synapse 3.0 it happens 3 times more than Synapse 2.0.

Wanted to update the post and include USB Connections, plus I forgot one device as well.

Just so some of you can have a little peace of mind, if you can separate your devices off a USB hub and connect direct to the right ports, you can stabilize it. Not a sollution, it still crashes, but I've been able to reduce from every 5 seconds, to maybe once every 20 minutes.

My original post with the added device.

So after absorbing this entire thread, here's what I fathom. I'm lead to believe this really is a power problem. If you can separate the big draw items and get them directly onto a USB port from the MB, do that. put the low power items on USB2

I originally had all these devices on USB3. With and without a USB3 Powered hub. With some devices on USB3 powered hub and some direct to ports on the MB. Made no difference, any combination I tried kept crashing when Synpase was running. So I split the devices out on the MB, according to what I think were large power draw, vs low power draw;

Razer Cynosa Chroma Pro Keyboard: USB3

Razer Mamba Elite Mouse: USB2

Razer Firefly 2 Mouse Mat: USB3

Razer BaseStation Chroma Headset/Hub: USB3

Razer Kiyo WebCam: USB2

This has greatly stabilized the my system and reduced crashes. I'm monitoring the USB ports and logging with USB LogView available here: https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/usb_log_view.html

Good Luck!

Still no love. Device disconnects frequently still. Turned off Synapse and all is well. What a clueless bunch of clowns over at Razer Engineering. Sad.
Razer Support sent me a feedback survey for the support call they haven't responded to. :confused_:

They didn't score very high...
Seems to work when I plug it in directly into my laptop, but I don't have enough USB slots in my laptop.😟
I haven't suffered from the disconnection issue since the Synapse update which was released just before Christmas. I can't be sure it is fixed though because there are is no change log and I still haven't had any response to the support case I opened in November. :frown_:
I had a disconnect/reconnect flapping episode the other day whilst in a game.

So it's still not fixed and I've still had no response to my support case.
Hey Insiders

I recently helped out an Insider, my understanding of why many high tech computer peripherals does not go well with USB Multi Hub

Check out the following thread~~

Razer Insider | Forum - Keyboards and switch usb

Whether this is the reason why RAZER peripheral keeps on getting disconnected~~~

It is just a matter of finding a right USB Multi hub that can handle multiple task and prevent from data flow bottleneck is a question.

I don't think, thats a real solution. I never heard, that other brands have such massive problemes with their drivers.

Razer should produce stable drivers, nothing else.
I do agree, but no such thing is a 100% perfect consumer products

Competition between Intel and AMD. Roll back the time 3 years ago, Intel still produced better CPU, but now AMD has staged the playing field.

Battle between RAZER, Corsair, logitech consumer products also. They all have its advantages and disadvantages.

My earlier thread is more of an understanding rather than a solution.

Who knows, maybe there is a USB Multi hub that keeps the stable connectivity for all RAZER peripherals, like my USB 2.0 Multi hub. Which has not caused any issues of dysfunction or dis-connectivity for little over 2 weeks now. Even though I bought it 15 years ago
I dont have enough USB devices to need a hub, so my issue is mostly with needing to have the app running. Based on what I am seeing this version seems like it should have been marketed as a different model. The V3 suggests it to be an improvement over the V1 and V2
RAZER is now focusing on wireless multi hub technology

The devices that I know that have this feature are~~

This might be the answer to USB multi hub issue
Many people (my self included) are experiencing this disconnection issue when connected directly into their motherboard. The problem is the software, not the hardware.
Try reinstalling your device drivers or make sure that they're updated.
Hey guys, so I am a new owner of razer products. I started out with just the DA mini for my laptop, the first time I plugged it in directly it automatically installed synapse and everything was fine. Since then I have upgraded my setup and bought myself the goliathus rgb mouse mat and the rgb mouse bungee because I moved into my other room so I now have a desk and all that. Well I bought a usb 3.0 hub put everything together not knowing these issues existed and sure as hell all the problems started to arise. Everything was constantly disconnect and reconnecting and it is VERY annoying. Everything works fine when I uninstalled synapse but its very frustrating because as tacky as it sounds I was intrigued by the chroma synch function and wanted everything to look really nice. I really wish I knew about all this before I bought this stuff because I also have a keyboard coming that my brother bought me so what was the point if the software doesnt work?

had same exact issue. i reinstalled windows version from 20H2 to earlier version. un-installed and re-installed new Synapse 3. not working. just un-install Synapse 3 will solve the issue.

Thanks zongyong, yeah I already did and immediately saw there wasn't that connectivity issue anymore so at least I knew it wasn't my new usb hub or my laptop for that matter. Obviously all the rgb will work but they are all out of sync and can't even really get the full features and customization out of the mouse or the keyboard when I get it. Razer you really need to address this issue, I saw when these posts were first up and it's MINDBLOWING how long it's been and you still have not fixed it. If this was my company I would of had it fixed IMMEDIATELY.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, same issue here. any recommendation how to fix it?
I have the same issue, for a while it went away but then a new Windows 10 updated rolled in and the issue came back. If I uninstall Razer Synapse it works OK but I lose all the features...
Is it just me or is @Razer straight up ignoring us?

Yeah exactly, you CAN use everything you bought but at the bare minimum, which is just a shame

Yeahhhhhh seems like it
Hey all, thanks for creating and contributing to this (and to the other similar threads created), because I really thought at first that it was just me having the dc issue. I almost never post on forums, but I felt like we need more people talking about this issue.

It's extremely disturbing how a disconnect issue goes for years without a fix or even an acknowledgement (as far as I know).

I personally have a Basilisk v2 mouse, Ornata chroma keyboard and a Kraken Tour Edition Green headphones and had like 5+ disconnects while writing this post.

A couple of things I have noticed on my end and am curious if it's similar with other people:

1.The disconnects almost never happen while having full screen video or a game on, but on the other hand it seemingly gets worse once you quit the full screen app.

2. I use the peripherals on my personal gaming rig and also on my work PC while working remotely. Both are using Windows 10 and I don't think I have ever noticed any issues on mu work PC (which has been used for nearly an year).

Anyways, I really hope that the engineering teams at Razer can figure their stuff out at some point and deliver a software update that addresses the issues, because as it stands I find it really hard to recommend their products to anyone.

Cheers!
Same issue here.

And this is my 3rd Razer mouse that seeing this issue. and it's also the reason why I bought the 2nd and this one.

Until I realized it's software issue after spending almost 3 days. Even exiting the Razer Synapse the mouse and other USB devices stopped disconnecting.

What a shame Razer. I guess I'll never buy a Razer product.

I don't want to jinx it but it looks like Razer Synapse 3.6.415.40812 no longer causes disconnects on my system. I had it uninstalled for a while and a week or so back decided to try out the latest version.

My Windows 10 build is 19043(I am on the beta channel).
