blackshark v2 thx spatial audio issue after recently synapse 4 update

I have the same issue I also have problems reinstalling RAZER Synapse (Installer crashes)

I also had the same issue but I removed synapse 4 and all leftover files completely and downloaded synapse 3 instead and now it seems to be working normally. I also dig around the internet and forums A LOT of people seemed to have this issue for very long time which is sad that there is still not a fix :(. I would suggest using synapse 3 untill they fix it (If they will fix it who knows) :) Hope this helps

Has anyone fixed it? Should I return to Synapse 3 or wait for the update? It's terrible, it's been 2 months since switching to Synapse 4, and there are no updates at all

I discussed with some razer staff (I assume) in dm and your best bet would be to return to synapse 3. I did that and it works just normally. Apparently synapse 4 does not support thx spatial audio as of yet at least

But the team are at least aware of this issue and propably working on a fix soonish I assume :)

u all shall go windows settings and the sound and enable device default enhacment and it gonna work . 

i have much experience with thx so feel free to ask ..

Razer support arent gonna help you cause they are lost .

Exactly the same issue here with BlackShark v2 w/USB sound card

Do you have Windows 10 or 11? Doesn’t work on 10, may be I make something wrong...

This is making me go crazy. I have the same problem for months now. I uninstall Synapse 4 and delete everything related to razer. Install synapse 3 back ( works for a day ). After a reboot or just random something it breaks too and everything sounds so LOUD and bad. Sometimes reinstalling - repairing synapse 3 works. I will never ever buy a razer product again thats for sure.

I have the same problem with the Blackshark V2 with USB... please do something!


After I reinstalled synapse 3 i thought it was fixed, but I was wrong, it doesn’t work correctly and the equalizer does not work at all. I installed THX spatial app with the 15 days trial and now it works correctly.
However in a few days it will be over and I’m not going to pay about something that I already paid for.
Razer, please fix this already, it’s been months since a lot of people experience this.
The alternative is to give us an activation code for the THX app.

I have same issue, still razer couldn’t fixed it, (I have temporary solituon)

If you choose immersive or competitive in thx supported games, the sound problem is fixed, but other equalizer options do not work (for example: game, movie, music). You do not need to buy a thx membership.

Well after trying to install and unstall more than 50 times for months i just purchased IEM and bought an adaptor for my focusrite scarlett solo and i was surprised how i forgot sound should “sound” like. Btw after that i unplugged the USB sound card and used the adaptor on my Blackshark V2 (3.5mm jack) and plugged it to my sound interface also and it fixed it. So problem is USB Sound card and its driver which is  THX. I do not know how a company like razer can’t fix a basic driver for more than a year.


The same problem since i switched to synapse 4.0, i went back to 3.0 again until it was solved. Razer, understand that the problem is with your program.

Thank you immensely for this. I was so frustrated I’m happy that this bandaid works for now.

You can try unchecking this feature to resolve the reverted issue.

I’m critical about S4 just like anybody else, but I can also look at it from devs’ point of view. More often than not it’s the management’s decision that cause issues and I’m willing to bet that they decided to push S4 to public before it was ready. If my memory is correct, then S3 was the same mess at release, and they needed more months to fix it. Also, seeing how long it takes them to release new version leads me to believe that they are having tough days to fix it. Sometimes a bug cannot be fixed until the underlaying issue is fixed first. And trust me, that can lead into a rabbit hole.

While Synapse 4 being a broken mess that it currently is, we can count ourselves lucky that we still have Synapse 3. Unless of course you have a device that is supported only in version 4, in which case you’re screwed.

terrible customer service, imagine that you make or update an existing program which is synapse in this case, and those people are not even tried it before releasing it, and learning that from us there is an issue, if not and if they aware the issıe why u release it ? why u don’t fix it? if it costly to fix why you didn’t end it and kept selling us those products? if your programmers have no such skills to develop those then don’t, im so mad at razer never ever buying an headset again such a terrible experience and remember that there are many alternatives in the market we Chosed you! For what ? U guys give no sh about us!

We need to send a spam to Customer Support asking about the progress of the solution to the problem because if we don’t put pressure on them, razer won’t fix it.

I send an email almost once time a moth asking about the problem.

Hi I switched to Steel Series Sonar and it fixed the problem with my blackshark, and the software has better options in my opinion.
I saw someone recommend this in an old thread so credit to him.
Razer, please do something about your program.


Solved the reversed THX problem… By flipping my headphones xD

A literal physical work around after not finding any way to just “invert” the sound directions as a whole
