I've noticed the same discharging when plugged in and gaming. I may look into an aftermarket charger.

Also, when I was playing Civ 6 the system seems to run fairly well for the first half hour or so, but then begins to noticeably start bogging down and becoming choppy after that. I'll have to start looking at thermals and power to see what is going on with this. I'll be pretty disappointed if this system isn't capable of running CIV 6...

Its not right that people have to buy after market chargers to be able to use it! Their CEO in the video advertised it as a gaming laptop!

I will also be returning mine

Discharging under load may also be be addressed by software, maybe some bugs make it draw more power than it should, if it can keep 15 Watt cpu and 25Watt gpu it should be enough for 65 Watt ac Adapter to not to wearing the battery inside the stealth, when I’m not wrong Fans rpm is even higher than Blade 15 (Blade 15 max 5000rpm), when it’s higher, it maybe also the culprit from that issue.

Yeah, I was thinkg about this too. Or maybe a BIOS update could solve it. I have heard about this before, which was a setting in the BIOS that would let the bettery discharge in order to protect the battery while plugged in. Maybe they are using a more aggressive strategy here. 65W should be enough to supply the laptop and if not, I hope they are working on a more powerful charger that can actually supply the thing they're selling. Like I said in a previous post, it's really sad that the charger is setting the limits of performance of the laptop.
Would folks be willing to share their model and battery life?
Seriously battery life increased to 13 hours? It seems impossible to large extent.

I Think it is managable without the MX150 and with screen to minimum brightness and backlighting off, but who would ever rock it like that..? On paper I Think it’s doable, but not in Real life imo.
Droglez
-battery discharge, when plugged in and gamin-GPU struggling to get above 80% usage when plugged in (too low voltage - GPU-Z says ‘Vrel’, which means means that it is capping out based on unrealiable voltage)
- I want the keyboard to turn off backlight after 1 min, which happens, but it then comes back on after 25-30 seconds, and then turns off after 1 min, and the cycling through. This might be fixed by a synapse update.
- CPU thermal throttles @ 50C when not plugged in (I don’t know if this is on purpose to save battery life, but it seems like a very strange Way to do it)
- crackling noise coming from both speakers (I confirmed this by muting speakers, and the noise then stopped). It could maybe be fixed by BIOS Update.
-Small amount of coil whine. It’s not a problem for me at all, but it might be for some people, so I thought I’d put it out there.

I have exactly the same problems as Droglez for the EU (France) unit

I am waiting for a driver quicky otherwise I will return the product too

Hi @TK-1987 and other owners as well, do you guys have any issues mentioned here?

I own then last iteration of the Blade Stealth (i7-8550U cpu) and sadly, i have to report i also have the connection issues on my usb-c port. So far (about a year of usage now) it has not gotten worse, so i hope the connectivity will not degrade because of some mechanical issue inside the plug on the notebook. The behavior it exhibits is that when I connect my core v2 (and i tried different TB cables), i need to wiggle around with the cable until i end up in a position where the corev2 is recognized. It always charges my notebook, however. I also never had these issues with the included power adapter, so it seems not to be about the power connectors but the data connectors that have the issue.

Too bad they did not fix it with the new iteration..

Mine doesnt always charge when I plug it in. I have to wiggle it around sometimes. Dear God it’s awfull, now that I think about it..
Does anyone know if the TB port will send video to a external usb-c monitor?
So I have correct the speaker crackle issue, I changed the driver to R2.73, it seems to be an issue with the most upto date driver.

R2.73 is an old driver but seems to work.

In regards to the battery drain, I updated the battery management driver and this seemed to help a bit
Nice, the HDMI that I never use on my Blade Stealth is finally replaced with something useful > w<

Thanks for the replies! My stealth will be here Saturday :)

To update this, mine is up and running! Right off I noticed two issues. First is that while playing games the laptop is discharging while plugged in. Actually right beside the battery percentage it will say "Plugged in, discharging". Other issue is that even though I'm hitting 60 fps and beyond, it's just not smooth at all. First thought was to check the refresh rate but in synapse it's set to 60hz. Although in windows display setting it shows 59hz. Regardless it's probably going back because the discharging issue makes it unusable.

Feel bad man. It sounds like ac adapter couldn’t provide power that system demands, hmm weird...since it’s low power gpu, it was known on Blade Pro with full gtx 1080 with small 250 Watt AC adapter considering other 1080 gaming laptops use around 300 watt power brick. About gaming experience is it framedrop that made not smooth or screen tearing?
It’s actually 59,xxHz so it’s similar refresh rate with 60 Hz value.
Is it online games btw? Internet connection may also become the culprit when you play on decent fps but still feel not smooth, if frame timings are inconsistent in the game you play, you can get micro stutter.

It's microstutter I think. Even though I'm pegged at 60fps it look like 40.

Hmm interesting, do you monitor the cpu and gpu temperature clock like earlier video i shared here, cpu usage almost all the time is hitting 100%, meaning cpu bottleneck the gpu, it may be the culprit. GPU usage may hitting 99 or 100, because gpu is prepared for that especially in nowadays titles, it shows the gpu efficiency and max performance, but not 100% cpu usage all the time even though the temperature is great, maybe the fans react more aggressive due to that and asked more wattage than the ac adapter could supply. The result is your issues discharging and stuttering imo.
Really sad to hear there are so many uses cropping up. I'm still waiting for the refund on my unit. I do plan on getting another eventually. Besides the coil whine mine was pretty good. It kept very cool when doing auto cad work and light gaming. Surprisingly so. But, that's what you get with low powered U class cpu's and a MX150 with two fans.

But, CES is just around the corner so I'm going to wait and see what's on the horizon. If there is nothing I like I'll give the New Stealth another go.
same with mine the problems are still here
I was all sold out again but getting in here is holding me back...
Is that possible that there are some razer systems with no issue?
I previously got a Stealth 1st gen; I read so many drawbacks but told myself I would give it a try though. But the unit I received had dead pixels so I returned it and convince myself I would wait for better stability and if possible mate screen.

I was really hoping this could be now.

Anyone happy with his?
The other issue with the trackpad is that when you click with the side of your thumb, after clicking, if the base of your thumb leaves the trackpad last because you lift your thumb up starting with the tip, the cursor jumps a small distance because it thinks you moved your thumb. It's just amazing how apple has managed to get the trackpad perfectly and window, even after all these years, has still fumbled the trackpad

So damn beautiful

I would take this anytime over my asus chromebook flip, but I'd still rather go with the lowest end Blade 15 which is the same price.

Second gen xiaomi mi Air 13, it was nice having MX150 in an ultrabook, could gaming on go but unfortunately it was too hot to me, and lack of TB3 port is huge trade off even though the price is right, especially for someone like me that has Razer Core, even my old MacBook Pro 2012 with tb1 can be paired with it even with super limited 1/4 Blade bandwidth. It was similar price with stealth v2 refurbished, I was right sold it for stealth, better cpu 7200U vs 7500U on stealth plus TB3 feature. I could play around even with a 2080ti;)
I saw also Mate Pro has also similar issue bad cooling design and cpu throttle a lot on egpu setting.

Yeah I heard mixed things about xiaomi products. So I'm gonna stick to brands I know. Lol. Currently my travel laptop is my Hp x360. So that added boost of an mx150 would let me play light titles on the go. My Hp did hook up to my razer core just fine, but it only had one fan and it ran at 100% when connected to the core. So not ideal. That's why I made a HTPC with a small case so I can just use that when I'm at home. Once CES is over next week I'll be trying to decide if I'll try another Razer Stealth or try something else. I also might be selling my Razer Core. Whether or not I'll replace it with a Core X is up in the air.

Xiaomi can copy Apple and doing great budget phones, and some vacuum cleaner but not gaming gears they’re 10 years too early for that, thousands (only my expression) Mi Air 13 with MX150 broken due thermal, Blade only hot on heat output areas on top but not too hot to touch, Mi Air hot entire body and keyboard as well only screen that that literally touchable. Reviewers only take a look first or two weeks usage but not using it long period. Yes I can’t wait also what comes in CES 2019, i saw Aero15x teasing an update, 3Dmark Ray Tracing benchmark, and possibility Turing mobile gpu.

Noted. I'll never consider one. Lol.

If they update the Aero15x I might consider that. Out of all the current thin and light gaming laptops that one got the best battery life. And that's my whole reason for wanting a smaller 13" laptop. But, if I can get that with better hardware I'm sold. It does run hot though. But most of them do at that size.

They’re bad in Keyboard and trackpad department, it comes also with a lot bloatware, I’m not defending Blade but if that’s also important to you, should first testing it in local store. You know already well Blade keyboard, it’ll be downgrade imo, now Blade 15 is even with huge precious trackpad, almost MacBook trackpad tracking experience.
What I’m exciting about is the new gpu, because they don’t have anything to update atm (only those I mentioned above imo), hardware wise depends on intel and Nvidia. About new H cpu idk exactly but with new Turing mobile gpu there’s already some solid leaks like specs and benchmarks number as well, though it’s only rumors level.
This will make the competition on thin light categories better, that what i like. I must admitted that they brought firstly last year this 1070maxq Laptop on the market, but I like better not to be rushed and make solid update especially with new gpu. I like last year Blade 15 update, even though there was early batch issue, but overall this is a solid laptop in my opinion, it likes always, sexy laptop ala MacBook (now the dimension is pretty similar despite the thickness) that can gaming well.

That might be something to consider too. My blade 14 was a joy to type on. I had it for my final semester in college and I did all my homework assignments by typing. And I got very quick and used to it. So it is the gold standard for keyboards currently. But, right now I'm still waiting on my refund for my Blade Stealth. I emailed them early last week and they said it had arrived and I'd have my refund in 2-3 days. 5 days later I'm still waiting. Even when I ordered it I was having communication issues with them. So it's leaving a sour taste in my mouth. If I get another one I'll get it through the microsoft store. I do know that of you get a good laptop from razer that they do last. My 14 still works. Just haven't sold it or given it away yet.

I did have the new blade 15 for maybe three days back when it was first released. But I got terrible battery life. Maybe 2 hours. So I returned it quickly. Which is a shame because the build quality was very Mac like. Felt solid and the keyboard and track pad were awesome. So that's why I don't have one of those. Honestly I might be rooting for Dell to have an updated XPS 15 soon. Lol.
True true. Their mercury white one is stunning. Like I said mine didn't get good battery life though. I probably got a bad unit. But, again since I got a less than perfect Blade Stealth I just have bad luck with Razer lately. Fingers crossed my next one is a keeper. I'd rather not be returning and exchanging laptops more than I'm using them.
So a quick update on my RBS19: It's on its way to Germany to get fixed. I had terrible issues with the discharging while plugged in and gaming. I had issues with coil whine, speakers and so on.

At this point I'm not even that frustrated about the coil whine. it was barely audible, but the fact that the GPU is staying at around 70% under load and delivering low FPS in games that are not that demanding, is not good enough!
