Has anyone run into an issue where it is plugged in but discharging when just sitting on the desktop? I have never seen this before but I was also messing with the new Razer miner thingy. It was stopped but it seems to still be discharging until i wiggled the usb c cable

Yep, alot of reviews and users mention this problem :-(
Seems to be a fault with the USB ports. I have my stealth on order from Amazon, but if it arrives and has that problem then its going straight back 😞

I think web reviewer only notebookcheck and one normal user who posted it on YouTube also posted on my thread in notebookreview. It’s quite passiv recently maybe the issues are already addressed, early batch especially end of the year and in holiday season may come with some issues. Usually if problems continue, they will post here and there. Please keep update about yours, fingers crossed it’ll be great one:smile_:

I have an older Stealth - the Model from Nov/Dec 2017 - and I also have the issue - the usb-c port just does not always "connect" when I plug it in - i have to wiggle around until it makes "contact"...

Hi @Asten__ , idk if this helps idk if usb c manufacturer standardization changes recently, just bought IPad Pro 11, and its port is quite tight if I connect some usb c cables, not all though, and it may be a potential issue in long run. Well time will answer that, but I’ve 3 years guarantee on that expensive overpowered tablet, so once it has issues like you had, it’ll directly go to Apple. So I’ll recommend you as well sending it for repair. Btw my stealth V2 late 2016 usb c is still same as day one, i believe it’s thousands time unplug and plugged mainly on with Razer Core, ac Adapter, powerbank and sd card Reader usb dongle ala MacBook.

I'm looking at picking one of these up in the next few days to replace my Blade 14. I hardly ever game on the go and my work is comprised mostly of word processing, so battery life is more important to me than power. My Blade 14 is decent for intense workloads on-the-go, but it routinely lasts between 2 and 3 hours.

Right now I am looking at the baseline model of the Stealth (256gb/8gb/integrated) versus the next model up (256gb/16gb/mx150). I'd rather stick with the laptop that will deliver the most battery life, which is the former, but I don't want to hamstring myself with 8gb of ram. Money isn't really a factor here, so the price difference is not a concern.

Is there anyone with experience that can comment on the realistic battery life/performance differences between these two models?

I can't tell you the battery life on the base model, but I did have the mx150 with 1080p screen model. Doing light tasks I was getting 7-8 hours of use. Pretty solid. Plus being it's usb-c charged you could quickly top it off if you have the chance throughout the day.
Does anyone have the base model and could tell me the average battery life?

Plus does the base model discharge when using it while charging, like the mx150 version?

So I have correct the speaker crackle issue, I changed the driver to R2.73, it seems to be an issue with the most upto date driver.

R2.73 is an old driver but seems to work.

In regards to the battery drain, I updated the battery management driver and this seemed to help a bit

Would you mind sharing how you did the battery drain driver update and as for the R2.73 Driver, that driver is from 2013, are you sure it will work for this? I love the blade stealth but the crackling speakers are driving me INSANE! This is my second blade stealth as the first one had some dead pixels on it (also had the speaker issue) it almost sounds like faint pop rocks although on this new model it is less than the previous one but still prevalent.

Can you tell how you did the battery update?

Kind regards.
This might be a more general Razer-esque question but:

How can I disable the game scanner service and razer central service without disabling synapse? It's really a pet peeve of mine to have processes eating up resources unnecessarily - especially those that I will never use.

Like the others above, I'm curious to know how you did this. I'm on my third razer blade stealth and, it I can't fix this, I will be refunding my purchase and looking elsewhere.
I just chatted with a support person and they told me the slow discharge when plugged in and gaming is not normal (4K graphics model). Does anyone NOT have this issue? It is very slow as in the reviews I’ve read, but it seems like this is unavoidable given the 65W charger. Is this something it should be returned for? Thanks!!
I have returned mine for a refund because it had all the problems mentioned here. I hope that razer will release a new version quickly.
i love it. I wish i had the money for it, but life is life

I'm having the same problems with the 4k model, after some gaming time plugged i need to stop because performances drops because the charges is not enough for the consumption.

Can't they just release a new better charger?

I actually bought a higher wattage charger (will arrive in two days). I’ll report back if it works or not.

I’m fairly convinced this is the “normal.” Honestly I’m okay if it means not crippling the machine by automatically lowering power settings or speeds. It would be great if a razer person(s) could confirm though here that this is normal for the 4k graphics model. Or if anyone who has it can also report in.

Which charger did you buy? can you let us know if it worked?

Seems like a laptop of these price should not have this kind of issues
hey cool something i cannot afford

I see your point, but it should be able to deliver enough power while not cripplling the thing - not one or the other. I’m pretty sure that it’s the charger falling short. It’s not acceptable for me at least. I don’t really Care how it’s fixed, as long as it gets fixed. It’s not a cheap device, so I think it’s fair to expect it to work properly.

I’m having a hard time understanding how this can go through QC. I mean; if you produce cars, you take the thing for a drive before you start selling it. And if you produce (casual) gaming laptops, I suppose it would be pretty smart to game on it before you start selling it. And it’s not like it’s happening after 1 year of use, which would make it impossible for them to see; it’s there from day 1. Am I wrong here..?

@Droglez can you check power consumption on plugged condition while you’re gaming with HWinfo64? I don’t have latest stealth but curious about this. This is sample from Blade 15 on power usage on running Unigine and xtu stress test, both cpu and gpu power usage still under Blade 15 ac adapter 230Watt, it’ll charge the battery as well (but it’s already full so it won’t charge further). I had pheriperals plugged on it but it should be not too much taking wattage. Try look at on balanced and gaming mode on your stealth. My theory is if it is over 65 watt which is surpassing ac adapter limit, it would use battery even plugged on the wall.
*Edited on cpu and gpu power usage on plugged condition.
Hi all,

I received a new Stealth about 48 hours ago and have noticed the speakers are giving off a static type of sound? The sound goes away when I mute the audio and rolling back to an older driver caused it to go away entirely. Thing is, this older driver is clearly not intended for the new Stealth and as a result the sound feels quite... "small"?

When are Razer going to release an updated audio driver for this thing? Or where can I get an older driver that will actually utilize the hardware correctly?

Thanks
Droglez

Sure - I can do that.

Check this thread out aswell. These guys actually did the test allready:

I already read that. I made Stealth 2019 thread on NBR. He, the notebookcheck reviewer, mentioned as well the potential issues on different article, this charging issue is one of those.
I really enjoy my new razer blade stealth 13!
There are some issues with speakers crackling and coil whine but both aren´t that loud so that I feel disturbed.
And there seem to be ways to fix these issues. (new SSD and Speaker Software)
So if you´re not into playing the newest AAA titles this is a very nice laptop for creative work and editing.
Keep in mind: You pay the money for size and design

Can anyone recommend a case or a sleeve for this laptop?
I don´t like the razer version because I´m not into their green logo
