7.1 surround sound broken after Windows update

After the recent .NET framework updates pushed by MS, 7.1 surround sound has stopped working in my Windows 10 PC.
The audio output device gets listed by Window’s Sound configuration but doesn’t appear in Razer AppEngine. When selecting it as output, nothing can be heard.
