Introduction.
AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) is a new technology that I wanted to test on my PC as my computer is old to see if I can smoothly optimize next-gen games.
This test will also be useful for Razer Blade Laptops with Nvidia 10/16 series GPU as well as all computers with old graphics cards.
We will thus discover if technology keeps these promises and that it does not degrade quality too much by using games: Chernobylite and Cyberpunk 2077 with patch 1.5 released in February 2022 (I am so happy 😊).
FSR also optimizes the performance of high-end AMD graphics cards when doing Ray Tracing.
But unfortunately I could not test this, so do not hesitate to add your review and experience to enrich this topic.

What is FSR?
AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) uses opensource cutting-edge upscaling technologies to help boost your framerates on compatible AMD and Nvidia graphics cards.
To explain how it works easily, your game is calculated in low resolution then upscaled to high resolution.
For example 720p upscaling to 1080p, 1080p upscaling to 2K/4K.
AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 1.0 offers 6 adjustment modes.
Auto, Ultra Quality, Quality, Balanced, Performance and Ultra performance.
I only used Ultra Quality mode to have no loss of quality.
Ultra Quality is beautiful as in native mode when FSR is disabled.
This technology does not require installation of any specific driver on your operating system, games must simply incorporate FSR or with patch.

RacianVDHello RacianVD No, Geforce Now has nothing to do with it. Geforce Now is cloud gaming technology like Stadia, Microsoft Xbox cloud Gaming. You pay a subscription and your games are started on remote server, server send you streaming video game, you play remotely, the drawback is latency in this technology and high speed internet connection required. If we had to compare, AMD FSR is like Nvidia DLSS. But FRS optimizes AMD/Nvidia/Intel graphics cards and also Raytracing. AMD makes open source technology. These are two different philosophies: - Nvidia favors proprietary technology to sell only their brands, keep a technological monopoly and high price. - AMD allows standardization of technological, better compatibility, better competition, lot of manufacturers, access to technology for the greatest number and more attractive price. To give another example, we could compare Nvidia G-Sync and AMD Freesync. I love Nvidia technologies, they are extraordinary, but I prefer AMD opensource philosophy.
I had no clue they are up to something like this..Is it a program "booster" or a platform like geforce now?

Nice, but still only few games supports it. Hope it'll change in future.
