Android 9 Pie
With the recent release of Android 9 Pie, I was wondering if there was any official news on if the Razer Phone was going to be getting that release.

Yea I bet the RP2 doesn't get anything either. I'm really beside myself about purchasing these phones still paying for RP2 through att.
Maybe it sounds stupid but how about we all (RP1 owners) sue razer for their nonsense? Because this is really a waste of money (as far as a mobile is concerned).

just a comment from Razer stating one way or the other if rge RP1 is or isn't getting an update would be nice.Almost all support seemed to have disappeared once the RP2 was released less than a year after the RP1 and no real word from Razer since.

But that's not a case that was produced by Razer. That's a third-party that produced that.
I would like an update for my Razer Phone 1 as well, but we must keep these threads above board; if we don't follow the rules, then there will be ANARCHY! Nobody is saying that you can't discuss it all you want about it here, whether your comments are positive or negative, but please just don't go breaking the Insider House Rules.
And really, I'm in the same boat.

I do understand and agree with you, but there must be way out... I mean it's been almost year since android pie has been released...

I love the razer phone it just i want some bugs fixed like phone rebooting when timer is done
Would be nice just for a security update - nearly a year without any security update at all is shocking, and quite frankly extremely poor customer service.
When a phone is released with bugs as the RP1 was, and only gets one update which left it with more bugs than first software version, then gets completely forgotten altogether, with no word from the manufacturer, you have to expect some form of rising from angry, annoyed and forgotten consumers.
Had this phone been low cost and budget then it would be more understandable, but alas this phone at launch was high end.
Its quite frankly a compete mess from Razer and they have to expect bad publicity and feedback on public forums.
I, like many others, will stay away from Razer products in the future due to this farce.

The fact that other devices continue to get the update juice.
Well, the RP1 hasn't received a single update since right before the RP2 launched and even the RP2 seems to not be that up to date. Sure, it has pie, but when was the last update? Razer doesn't seem to even acknowledge anything phone related anymore short of selling the RP2 cheap.
I mean there are still quite a few issues on the RP1 and it seems they will never get fixed. It's a shame really. On paper they are great devices, but all the bugs and whatnot just keep they phone from living up to it's potential. I mean, I tell everyone that while I do love my RP1, I also tell them to NOT buy a RP2 or used RP1 as support doesn't seem to exist.

I am selling mine online in a few days because of the lack of updates. TechPayOut is the only place that buys them back for around $125. To heck with the lack of communication. Bail out while you still can, because the Razer 1 won't have value much longer.
I just got the Razer Phone 2 with the wireless charger. I am a happy customer. I'm on the February security patch. Though some on Reddit are reporting receiving the April patch.
There aren't any April Patch, only one Reddit user reported Pie Upgrade with changelog saying patches through April, but when he upgraded phone was on February patches as expected.
Even Razer support stated to me via email and chat that they don't have any update on security patches and the last version is February, they are looking into Security patches but nothing to say now (they said).
Kind of sad seeing the support for great device overall to suck so much.
