Speaking of the ROG phone. Some expansion of the Razer phone ecosystem would be nice. The Raiju mobile for example being a controller dock, or a partnership with Gamevice. A "ProDock" for being able to stream and output to HDMI and utilize Ethernet etc would be very exciting.

I'll be getting the phone once it hits Microsoft stores so I can give it a trial run and report any software bugs again.
I'm considering the Pixel or the ROG phone but the 4GB of RAM hasn't served me well on my Pixel 2 XL.
It would be nice to see Razer offer a trade in for the Razer phone 1! Or at least someone offer a good buyback or trade in for the first model.
Any news on software updates for both devices?
The thing I'm most excited about is the Camera, both the rear and the front.

I was already pleased with everything else about the Razer Phone (1st edition), the camera is the main thing that bothered me. But seeing they now have to flagship Sony sensors, OIS, 4K 60fps on the rear, and have rebuilt the camera app UI, and the HDR algortithm excites me.

I had a choice between this and the ROG Phone, and it was hard. The deciding factors were price, $100 cheaper than the base ROG phone (128GB version), the front facing camera 60fps (never saw that before in a phone), microSD card slot, and my love for the Razer mobile division.

I'm happy they added ip67 water resistance, I loved that on my HTC U11, though I rarely used it, but it helps. It does tend to rain enough where I stay. the screen brightness did annoy me too, so I'm glad they really improved that. Vibration was a struggle, so I'm happy they fixed that. I think the RGB Chromo lighting logo is dope. Happy they kept the dual front-facing speakers despite adding water resistance, always loved that in an smartphone and Razer's were definitely the best, even with my experience with HTC and their BoomSound speakers. It's stated that the Razer Phone too has a 103db vs the 1st generation Razer Phone, which had 98db. Hopefully with the water proofing that means some coating that stops all sorts of debris from falling into the speaker grills, that was really annoying on the 1st version.

I wanted to wait on the Satin lined version, but I need a new phone now. I heard there was going to be a 128GB version, but it's not consistent confirmation.

Flagship//Gaming has never looked this good, meet the Razer Phone 2: http://rzr.to/phone2

The next generation Razer Phone is here, and the silky-smooth screen is better than ever. The 5.7’’ UltraMotion display boasts true 120Hz touch sampling and display refresh rate—making this the fastest screen in mobile gaming.

Coupled with the unapologetically loud Dolby Atmos dual front-firing stereo speakers, the Razer Phone 2 supports both HDR and 5.1 surround sound content. Perfect for games, music, and movies on the go, nothing comes close to this ultimate mobile entertainment machine.

What’s more, we made no compromises with the all-new upgrades. Featuring a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 2.8GHz processor, 8GB RAM, and advanced vapor chamber cooling—the Razer Phone 2 provides great performance at work and play. We’ve even upgraded the camera, so you can capture stunning photographs and precious memories no matter where you are.

Last but certainly not least, we’ve added Wireless Fast Charging so you can get juiced up quick, IP67 water resistance to weather any storm, and of course an illuminated logo powered by Razer Chroma for full on customization.

Premium flagship features combined with industry leading gaming performance—this is the all-new Razer phone 2. This is Flagship//Gaming: http://rzr.to/phone2

when will the 128 gb version be available?
I jumped at the Razer 1 but wished I hadnt. Massive bluetooth issues and poor customer service means that Razer 1 UK users havent been able to use full bluetooth connectivity for 5+ months. Seems a good phone, customer service and support will let you down. I'm keeping clear and cant wait for my contract to be up on my Razer 1 so i can get rid of the damn thing...
So when did razer phone 2 be available here in the Philippines ???
I pre ordered my phone about a week ago, got notified today of shipment. Says it will be at my door on Tuesday. Can’t wait to get my hands on this thing. Hope it lives up to the hype. I have been using iPhone for about the last 7 years, this wasn’t the easiest decision for me.

That's interesting, Where did you order from ?

I ordered from the razer website.
I’m from the US, just check and now says mine is out for delivery. Razer website said when I ordered (13 OCT) they ship today 22OCT now it says shipping starts 26OCT. Maybe they are backordered.
Received my Razer Phone 2 at 10:30AM this morning. Impressions:

Sound quality is terrible, the speakers have lots of crackling and distortion on anything past half volume. Both speakers. Turning on/off Dolby Atmos makes zero difference, switching through the different presets Dynamic,Movie,Music and Custom makes zero difference either. The Camera quality is atrocious still, I have both an iPhone XS Max and Pixel 3XL that I was hoping my Razer Phone 2 would replace as my daily but unfortunately it's not looking good.

The vibration motor is MUCH improved, nowhere near as good as the Pixel 3 XL or XS Max but it's usable now. Feels like a vibration motor from a flagship Android device circa 2015.

The screen is much brighter, looks beautiful and fluid as ever. Absolutely missed how amazingly smooth 120hz is. Hoping the Razer 2 would address all the issues I had with my original Razer Phone, turns out they only fixed the screen brightness and vibration motor.

Very disappointed so far, getting an RMA to return this POS. This ruined my week.
With the post above, I too am doing an RMA on my RP2. Issues with sound quality, atrocious camera still both front and back, dullness of color present as well when compared even to last gen flagship models from different companies. On top of that if you are Verizon forget about it completely. You can send texts and make calls but 0% chance of receiving.

The 120hz refresh rate is quite nice and games handle flawlessly on this device but I don't feel that really makes up for the number of negatives that have come up within the first 24 hours of attempting to use the device.
Didn't know there was a razer phone 1
Well, thats it.
Looks like my only alternative now is Asus.
😞
sounds like the sound system isn't as good as what's advertised
Has razer phone 1 been updated to android pie yet?

Are they going to release any better cases than that thin clear one? I'd like a silicone one, please. No 3rd parties.

Otherwise, it's no sale for me. If they don't update last year's phone how can I trust them to update this one?

Our sony xz2c have already been updated some time ago and it is from 2017 as well. I'm tempted to just get another xz2c.

Droid Life was excited about the camera in thier review. Called it capable and an improvement.

Wondering if it's just your unit.

I see what you did there. Hahaha. :wink_:
Has anyone else bought this phone and is using on Verizon Wireless? I have everything working on the phone expect I cannot receive MMS text messages; I can make/receive calls + make/receive SMS texts, and I can even send MMS texts but can't receive. The APNs are locked down on this phone and VzW was unable to help me.
