I sure wont be letting them get away with this...
Launch a complaint against Three using Resolver.co.uk. I haven't had any success with it yet but at least I am now in a meaningful dialogue with them. I asked for a part refund of my monthly payment to cover the portion that covers the phone cost.

I'd actually prefer to go after Razer but as I bought the phone from Three I have to go through them.

Anyone having Bluetooth issues with Razer Phone 2?

I'm able to connect my Razer Phone 1 to my cars bluetooth but can't get Razer Phone 2 to connect no matter what I do.

An update came out today, was thinking that would fix the issue but it has not.

Looking to see if others have issues or if I just got a bad phone?

Yes. I have a 2017 Silverado and I can connect my phone by Bluetooth and the audio plays through fine, but as soon as I connect my phone to the USB C cable for use with Android Auto the audio comes out my phone speakers and Bluetooth says (no media) even though the option is checked. Calls go through the head unit and so does Pandora, but Play Music will only play through my phone speakers. If I disconnect the cable it'll start playing through the head unit again. I've factory reset my phone while sitting here messing with it, but to no avail. It's really a shame too. I like this phone but this is a deal breaker for me. I use Android Auto every single day. I can't think of anything else.

I've reset the phone
Reset Bluetooth
Reset Andoid Auto
Reset Google Play Music
I've unpaired every device from my head unit
Changed bluetooth codecs
Turned off Dolby
Nothing changes it. When plugged into any of 4 different cables, including the one razer provided, 2 Samsung and 1 pixel cable, it always stops playing through the phone speakers.

Unfortunately this will probably mean it has to be returned. I've otherwise loved the phone, but this is a feature I use daily, multiple times throughout the day. I've not had a problem with this on any other phone.

I can't even get the Bluetooth to connect to my car on the Razer Phone 2... It just fails to connect every time.
I've been using my Razer Phone 1 for the mean time. That one connects to my car without issues.
I just submitted a ticket via Razer support. Will have to see what they say.
I'm going to have my girlfriend see if her Razer Phone 2 will connect to my car.

I have a 2017 Mistubishi Lancer. I've had no issues connecting friends iPhone or Android phone.
Like I said, my Razer Phone 1 connects without issues as well.

I feel ya man. Only had the phone a day and my DD Evo X won't connect. (Older MMCS system before the newer Android Auto units came out.) Might have to try on the garage queen X FE, but I'll have to hook up the battery and I'm not feeling it today. My hard guess is that it's the same story.

On the other hand, doesn't seem to be an issue on the Android Auto enabled models. Hooked up instantly at the first attempt with the wife's Eclipse Cross, at least. Both BT and Android Auto worked flawlessly.

So, my guess at this point is that it has to do with Bluetooth versions. Perhaps the Phone 2's (or OS'?) software settings don't talk very well with legacy BT radios?

Yeah it might have something to do with that... My girlfriend's Razer Phone 2 doesn't connect ti my lancer either. She has an 09 Lancer GTS no Bluetooth in that car to try >.<

Also have a 2010 Corolla S with no Bluetooth to try phone in lol.

I did compare all Bluetooth settings between my Razer phone 1 and 2. All settings are identical.
Razer Support had me go through all settings in developer mode but no luck there.
They want me to do a factory reset and try again.
Will prob do that after Blizzcon this weekend since I'll have a long weekend 😃
My Razer phone worked fine with my pioneer receiver but I got the Razer 2 and every time it trys to connect it shuts off the radio.

Sorry to hear about that, man. FYI, I'm seeing about getting the HU's firmware updated next week on one of the cars. Hopefully that'll solve the issue from the car side. If you have Fuse on your BT-enabled Lancer, this might be an option for you as well. (Sans bluetooth connectivity, I noticed that between the 2015 and 2014, the options and functions are ever so slightly different, but negligible.)

Regardless, I'll let you know if it fixes the problem for Mitsubishi owners with cars prior to the Android Auto-enabled versions.

Here's a URL to Fuse's update page:

Hi, just got the July security update on three UK . Will let you know if it fixes Bluetooth.
Awesome, thanks for the heads-up. Look forward to hearing about it! Would carrier-specific updates could be region-specific, and maybe have more cumulative fixes for hardware-specific connectivity issues?

FWIW, here's what I have (US unlocked version):

It works... Three UK with Nissan Juke.

Update: all is good so far , Bluetooth reconnects with car every time.
Ok, for all you Mitsubishi guys/gals with pre-Android Auto head units - got some good news for you:

If you've got a Fuse Link-enabled factory head unit and your RP2 can't seem to hold a connection when pairing, all you need is a firmware update on the head unit. This can only be done by the dealerships, per OE Manufacturer Visteon's website, as I mentioned a few posts above.

In my case, I have the 7" non-navi head unit. Checking the firmware (instructions on how to do this, again in Visteon's website) revealed that both vehicles in question had v.11.0.0 (on the 2014 Evo MR) and 18.0.0 (on the 2015 Evo FE), respectively. Latest version is 19.0.0.

It's the latest version (19.0.0) that fixed the connectivity issue.

FWIW, I did get some instructions from Razer Support on trying out some different Bluetooth settings on the phone via the Developer menu, but I didn't touch any of that until I could have the dealership complete the HU update. To keep other variables constant, if you will.

This update is applicable to all Mitsubishi vehicles from 2014 to 2018 with/or without navi, with the possible exception of the Mirage. (The latter's HU is different altogether.) Key is if you have a 3-button bluetooth control unit on your steering wheel, and have a 7" display with a single dial --- or the Navi versions of the same. Doesn't matter if you have the Fosgate system, head units and firmware are the same.

My Razar Phone 2 is having issue with Bluetooth in my 2016 Malibu

It does connect to bluetooth and Andriod Auto opens when its connected to the USB Port and/or Bluetooth. I've reset the phone and my head unit. This includes resetting Bluetooth, Android Auto, Google Play Music, Tried Changing Bluetooth codecs (turned off/on Dolby AAC)....I can't get it to work with any app BUT Spotify...Works perfect.

My Razar 1 phone worked perfect with this unit and it was running Oreo as well.

Thanks for the info! I need to get my car serviced in the next couple weeks might have them update the car then. Then again I might just try and update the system myself... Doesn't seem too difficult based off what I've read online.

Still don't understand why RP1 works without issues.
Shall I also use fmwhatsapp android app on razor phone with bluetooth car audio system without any issues? can you please let me know?
Finally got the Bluetooth update in my Lancer. Still can't get RP2 to connect >.<
Tomorrow when I have more time I'll delete all devices from car and try connecting again.
I recently acquired the Phone 2, upgrading from a Phone (1). The Phone (1) would connect to my head unit every time without fail.

The Phone 2 failed to connect every attempt. If plugged in via USB Android Auto worked well and the Bluetooth would connect and remain connected and stable even is the USB was removed. On a whim I removed Android Auto and the Bluetooth now connects first attempt every time.

This leads me to suspect something with the Bluetooth trying to bring up Android Auto. Only reasoning I can come up with is the headunit is capable of Wireless Android Auto.

EDIT: I should note Wireless Android Auto did not work with the Phone (1) or the Phone 2. Only USB connections are working for Android Auto.
I can't connect with Mersedece. It can't even find it. Total trash with antennas. Even to catch in my room WiFi and mobile connection constantly dropping. others with different brands not having problems.
RP1 on 8.1 UK

Hopefully will be fixed with Pie otherwise straight back to OnepOne. One of the best for it's price category.
The RP2 update that came out today fixed the Bluetooth issues. Was able to connect to my car and a stereo without any issues!
:D

Clear Bluetooth cache and update your phone... Issue should be resolved!
Did this get fixed?
Yeah the pie update fixed the issue.
I still haven't gotten that update. Who is your service provider?
I switched to TMobile for Razer phone 1 been with them since. I got update beginning of March. Go to your phone settings and check for update: settings > system > advanced > system update
