Think I am going to give them another week then return it to Three uk and get a refund and go back to samsung if the have no more news.

Got this from Razer support.

"Upon checking our engineers are working on a fix. We will releasing a fix to this Bluetooth issue. That will be MR2(maintenance release). We apologize for the long wait. We will update you as soon as we have an ETA."


Whilst I'm still non the wiser on an actual roll out date if you look back at previous maintenance releases they seem to happen quite quickly.

7.1.1 MR0 - Nov 2017
7.1.1 MR1 - Dec 2017
7.1.1 MR2 - Jan 2018
8.1 MR0 - April 2018
8.1 MR1 - May 2018

The above are Razer global images. Three (my carrier) seem to be about a month behind but either way it looks to me like we should expect 8.1 MR2 fairly soon as we are nearly into July now.

Unfortunately I'm a fool and bought this from Razer direct thinking it would he a working supported phone in late January. So I'm out of my return window.

I would of gotten another Samsung or maybe even a Google pixel I hear those phones work.
Emailed them to ask for an ETA on the fix and got the reply

And then today get

So should be getting a Samsung S9 plus next week.

Music should work now just bad quality.

This is just a temporary fix.til a real fix is released .
This has gotten ridiculous. So far, they haven't even given us an ETA on when the fix will be released (if it ever will).

Yep.

They don't provide support for their products.
And Razer staff basically just troll their support forums locking threads vs give us support or a working product like we paid for.

Their support has always been great on their laptops. Part of why I bought their phone. If this isn't fixed, soon, there's very little chance of my ever buying another Razer product.
I have been so unhappy with Razer taking away functionality from the handset. It took me 3 years to move away from my HTC One MAX, the Razer phone ticked a lot of boxes. That was until they removed auto connection and other bluetooth functionality. I've swapped handset and then found this forum. The replacement handset auto updated out of the box so couldnt undo the update...
Ive been in contact with Razer, theyve asked me a series of questions but their response time is poor, but at times instant (via email). I set Razer a deadline to have the fix in place. This has been and gone.
So today I contacted Three mobile, told them of the issues, shared with them this forum page and they are happy to cancel my contract. So, if you are on Three and you have these issues, they will cancel upgrades / contracts due to Razers issues.

Yea seems a lot of people on Three are unhappy when the driver turned up to deliver my new Samsung and I handed him the Razer, he said that was his third that day.

Amazon luckily sent me a new phone also.

Same exact thing as you forced to update and doesn't work.
Razer support said I could send in my phone without a replacement for them to send me one back knowing well the replacement wouldn't even work.

I now have 2 broken Razer Phones
The phone is not broken. It is a bug in the OS. This stuff happens all the time. Razer is not the only one who pushes out an OS update that breaks something. That is the only thing that doesn't work is bluetooth to a car. Plug into the aux port and move on with your life until they fix it.

If you don't like it, sell the phone and buy an expensive bloated samsung, or an expensive pixel. Oh and by the way, the pixel 2's had a ton of issues with the screens. And google finally fixed it. NO ONE is free from mistakes.

It worked fine on 8.1.
This phone IS expensive 700 is not midteir price for a cell phone.

First off I am not a razer fanboy. . I'm just not a crybaby and I understand how this stuff works because I am a software engineer and work in software. It is a bug in the OS that was introduced in the last OS update. That's why replacement devices don't fix it and why it worked on the previous version. It's doesn't matter that the previous version was 8.1, it was a different build. THE PHONE IS NOT BROKEN.

Oh and 700 is cheaper than the top tier phones.
xRuhRohx - either way you look at it, it doesnt work anymore. Broken or bug, it still doesnt work.... And whats annoying me the most is how poor customer service are to communicating the fix to this bug/breakage. I had another poor email from them this weekend, I demanded Razer buy me out of my contract due to lack of functionality and not being able to fix the issue in a generous time frame (14 days). They suggested I go (in my own time!) to go and speak to my network provider. Cheek! Confirming I wont buy another Razer product again...

I totally understand the frustration. But fixing and OS issue and pushing it out, isn't a quick process. And yes customer service does leave something to be desired. I just think there are better ways to utilize the forum instead of spouting anger and complaining.

This guy can't be serious.

They had no problem pushing out a second update days/weeks after a working update with no complaints that broke their phone.
They know the update is broken and causes problems and they knowingly left it on their update servers to push out broken update on brand new phones?
The logic?

My case has also been open over 40 days now without any resolution or date of a fix to our issue. That's not customer service that's trying to keep and issue open until your warranty expired and they can tell you to screw off.

If you got the phone under contract I suggest you go back and tell them as they might give you a full refund/a working phone since Raser doesn't produce operational phones.

Upon starting up and informed me I NEEDED to update to the current version before it would release me to use the phone at all.

The update should of been revoked and stopped being handed out once they knew there were wide spread issues with it until a working fix was produced.

The security update is more important.

And I'm pretty sure I said this before, if you don't like it, go somewhere else. This is their first phone and you expect them to function like companies who have been doing this a heck of a lot longer.

And I have informed people to contact support and get a ticket started so they can be aware of what the issue is and get enough tickets to where they will do something about it. I even tried to get a group ticket put in to fix this issue.

So still no fix then ?? also see the other thread about Bluetooth got deleted. Maybe they will have better luck when the Razer 2 comes out.
