Hello all,

I just got my HDK a few days ago and this one is not detected by Synapse.... Have you ever had this problem?

The HDK is well powered and does its default light cycle

Install latest Synapse.

Dear Razer Chroma Team,
I'd like to suggest you this scope of addons and updates:
1. HDK - User must have option to connect RGB Led strips like ws2811 ws2812b and others.
2. User must have option to connect Arduino to Synapse 3 for Chrome sync and others things....
3. Option to auto change brightness of chroma by time schedule

You're making good product, but you want to earn money from everything. Hey Guys, we are fans, and if you wanna to be #1 in the world you must make some free features for users!
I bought 1 week ago Razer HDK, and you know, this products real cost is 20$ not more, I can do all that things on arduino or esp8266 in 10 minutes.

I'm ready to buy HDK if it will be real Hardware DEVELOPMENT KIT - DEVELOPMENT!!!!

It's for you to develop it. Haha.

I agree. Razer is the best when it comes to RGB. Glad that Razer is releasing more budget products to accomodate budget gamers like the latest blackwidow. Meanwhile while waiting for more, I hope Razer or any kind hearted soul write a step by step beginner guide in customizing a Razer HDK and maybe a simulation program to help newbies trying out the kit. Keep it up Razer!
received my 1st one few days ago ^_^ THE BEST LED STRIP ever ^_^ I just set the strips on the back of my table.

received my 1st one few days ago 😊 THE BEST LED STRIP ever 😊 I just set the strips on the back of my table.

I redeemed 2 just because I want 4 LED Strips.
With the recent update of synapse 3 which enables ambient lighting effects, i'm really damn tempted to get this man.. at least I can have it set to my default chroma wave effect when not gaming and ambient lighting when gaming.. 💵💵 hopefully i get enough silver to redeem one soon 😿
(1) seems really strange, that they wouldn't use an spi or i2c rgb chip that can be daisy-chained. Like APA104 or even the old ws2811.

So you're saying those fat plugs all have separate pins going to separate diodes o_O

So much for being expandable... I mean it looks nice but I don't think this product is for me. Nothing wrong with that of course. 😉

@BlackFireDragon @xCryptik I can confirm that you can not daisychain multiple light strips. Each LED on the light strip has an independent connection to the HDK to allow for the the fastest refresh rates of any LED strip you can buy, and to allow for the most granular customization possible.

@BlackFireDragon At last, the staff here confirmed you cannot connect them. The store support must have misunderstood it. Haha.

  • The 20-pin plugs are all active - each LED is controlled in parallel, as opposed to regular LED strips that are controlled in a series. This allows a change in any LED along the strip on demand - otherwise we would have gone for regular LED strips.
  • Yes, the dotted lines indicate the recommended cutting areas.
  • They are proprietary due to the 20-pin connector.
  • The LED per channel is because of the above, 20-pins to control each LED individually.

I'm going to agree with @Pentalobe here but I'll be more blunt, this design has absolutely no sense. You've effectively created a 20-pin plug that can easily be damaged. There are no issues driving 300 ws2812 LEDs at 60 FPS from a $2-worth ESP8266 chip,
.

Any particular reason you went with this instead? With ws2812 you need to push the whole array of values, so to change LED number 13 yes, you need to push the data to others, but as I demonstrated an $2 chip is more than enough to do that for 300 LEDs, at 60 FPS. Just doesn't make sense, especially that you're only driving 16 of these in a single strip...

And then there is this silly 16LED/strip limitation

may i know what's the different between Razer RGB and the rest companys with RGB too?
isit the light is brighter?

Everything. It's a totally different playing field.
From true 16.8 million colors (other companies skip out on the full range of colors, leaving you with a fake RGB experience), super fast and reliable data transfer (to make effects the smoothest in the industry), and customization (Synapse 3 is pretty awesome, especially when compared to the other companies).

Yeah HDK works fine with the third party audio visualizer so im pretty sure that the issue/bug is with synapse 3. Only problem when i uses that is my tartarus v2 remains static so no matter what i choose i can't sync everything together

Yeah, and still no fix. I hope they will fix it fast now, because the support should know there is a issue(i just tried it with both of my hdk and different PCs, same issue there).
Now if I only had all the different products and accessories that are needed for all that Chroma goodness. 😃 Make it look like a Gaming Disco party, or when I figured it all out have the Chroma Flicker or something like that when I get Damaged in game or time it with Music that gets played, ooh or even when playing a video to tie in when the movie changes it's theme.. The possibilities as far as I know could be endless.
Reg3e
Is it fixed yet? The Chroma Visualizer issue. I'm considering of get a kit to complete my setup.

I could go for a simple static colour LED strip for my desk. But since I'm almost all Razer products, might as well have my desk RGB LED sync with the rest of my gears.

No update yet.
I am wondering one thing... at 25 seconds some background action starts..

Is that all a coincidence by cables and shadows, or is it actual "gameplay" of some sorts 😂

well, there is something wrong with HDK on software level, it feels. For instance- it really doesn't like to be put in usb hubs, and for some reason chroma studio loves to reset the tilt, so time to time I get confused why is the wave on my left strip going the wrong way all of a sudden

Try putting at least a 1 space gap around each strip so they're not too close to your other Razer stuff, if they're too close to anything sometimes they'll spin or move by themselves.

Anyone knows where I can get the wallpaper please?

Check this out.

Wave is the design that you're looking for, while Valerie is for three screens.
Since this was posted yesterday, and I saw it via Facebook.
I kinda decided it was a "gift" since I JUST started to build my own PC, and RBB/Chroma is a huge part of it.
And it was my birthday yesterday <3

Thanks a ton for this!
I'm so gonna it as soon as my wallet allows me.
As a DJ using a Razer Blade Stealth, I see some very unique opportunities for this in a custom facade.
oooh mama do want :3

Waiting for stock... :frown_:
Perhaps the webstore should have a "notify me" button instead of "add to cart"?
