Razer Blade Pro 17 4K (late '19) - BIOS 1.04 - Win 20H2 build 19042.685 - NVIDIA game ready driver 460.89

New NVIDIA driver, Hibernation black screen still there

Jealous you can even get into windows to hibernate. Once I login to windows that's when mine goes black.
I'm trying a few things out and will report back my findings

Mine is the 2020 version and v1.06 bios but still strange behavior. I'll report anything I find later today.

WHICH BIOS SHOULD THE RAZER BLADE PRO 17 2020 4K 120 HZ HAVE INSTALLED?
I found on the razer website that there is a newer bios version, 1.06.
I update it?

What BIOS do you currently have?

Yes, update, update everything!

ready. BIOS 1.06
There is a new Version of Nvidia Drivers, but I will wait until the weekend to update, because if I do it now, I will lose several hours in removing the black screen again.
and now I have to work.
Do you have a monitor?
If you do, fixing the black screen only takes a few minutes to revert to older drivers.

Please proceed with the 1.06 BIOS version installation. Also, ensure that your Windows 10 has installed its latest updates. Feel free to update this thread or send me a PM.

If I have an external monitor, but when I download the current drivers that I have which are 460.79 it stopped detecting the external monitor, after restarting the Razer Blade many times it detected the monitor again. And my patience runs out really fast at this point. It is the reason why in the matter of updating Nvidia drivers, uploading to 120 hz and dedicated graphics card and black screen I leave it for the weekends and thus it does not interfere with my work.
Now I have the Razer Blade pro 17 2020 like this:
-windows 20H2 (OS build 19042.685)
-Bios: 1.06
-Nvidia Drivers: 460.79
- GPU mode: Nvidia optimus (60hz)

Also tell you that the Razer Blade has been repeatedly restarted since updating to 460.79, (blue screen),
Previously if this happened but not so much.
There were issues with that driver. They've already released a new one, 460.89. (issues with certain games etc)

¿Tiene un monitor?
Si lo hace, arreglar la pantalla negra solo toma unos minutos para volver a los controladores más antiguos.

Como haces exactamente para regresar a los controladores anteriores si se pone pantalla negra?>

Just to add to the chorus but I also have this issue. I have a support ticket in but based on this thread I doubt it will amount to much. $5000 earlier this year for a computer that can't update video drivers without having the screen turn black is incredibly unacceptable. The fact that it's been 5 months is insane. At this point it's pretty much guaranteed I will never buy another Razer product ever again and I will absolutely not recommend them to anyone ever.

The crazy thing is, I keep seeing them recommended in Year End articles. Obviously these people only had one for a few weeks back when they came out and drivers weren't an issue. Now, unless you use your laptop with an external monitor (which defeats the purpose for at least half the users of laptops) it's almost useless for anything besides surfing the web. 5K down the drain 😞

La pagina de NVIDIA tiene todas las versiones previas. Conectas la pantalla y bajas la version previa que si funciona y la instalas.
Razer Blade Pro 17 2020 4k UHD Touch - BIOS 1.06 - Windows 10 20H2 Build 19042.685

Issue persists on latest NVIDIA Drivers. Reverting drivers does not fix it. I have to plug external monitor to switch back to Optimus. Dedicated GPU mode just gives me black screen
This is so crazy. My specs are exactly the same. The only difference is i'm still on win 10 2004. My problem was solved with the 457.30 drivers. Since then no black screen anymore. Note that i only use studio drivers because i use the laptop only for vide editing.
I am in a conversation with bpvarsity. He reverts back from 20h2 to 2004. We will see if this makes the difference.
Razer Blade Pro 17 4K (late '19) - BIOS 1.04 - Win 20H2 build 19042.685 - NVIDIA game ready driver 460.89

I tried the studio drivers. Got black screen after hibernation too. Even worse, my external screen didn't show anything after connecting. So I had two black screens and needed a forced reboot to get the internal screen to work again.
okay so I have a theory about this. Latest NVIDIA drivers update the GPU VBIOS and the new GPU VBIOS is incompatible with the Razer BIOS. Therefore reverting back to old drivers does not downgrade it (since BIOS updates are usually only one-way - upgrade)

If someone still has not updated their system and it's working fine, can they dump the BIOS through GPU-Z or some other util and share it here? I wanna take it for a spin

My GPU BIOS is 90.04.8A.00.03

Hi @Gauner123! Is your laptop on BIOS 1.06 and NVIDIA graphics driver 460.89 version? If yes, how's your display's behavior?

Hey everyone! I am working with our Support Team and devs at the moment. Please continue posting any progress of your laptop here.

I have 1.06 installed, and and driver 457.51 installed. This one is working, but I haven't updated to the latest as it has issues with some games that I play. So I'm waiting for those to be resolved before I try updating.

I've had the black screen issues, but not with the driver I have now. So it's concerning that issues persist with different drivers.

Can we get some sort of official announcement or status from Razer on this? What's being investigated, what the thought of the overall issue etc.. It's been lingering for a LONG time for folks and with the company being essentially silent on it, you're just straight up losing customers. I can't recommend anyone to purchase a Razer laptop as of right now.

Which window build to you have? Helps us in finding a solution. Thanks

Exactly! That would help a lot. Being transparent about this problem is a matter of trust!

I'm still on version 2004. I try to avoid the latest Windows updates as long as I can due to just the inherent issues with those.

and to be fair... I like the laptop.. but I don't think it's worth the absolutely abysmal tech support we've all been experiencing.. If I could return it, I would. I feel bad even considering selling it to someone else so I don't have to deal with the issues that we've been facing.
