My Razer Blade Pro 17 4K 120 Hz 2020, Not work!
So there are oviously issues with the 2019 model? Is my 2020 model the only one that works? Hey razer i think it is time to comment on this!
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, IT IS HONOR TO TELL YOU THAT AFTER SO MANY MONTHS I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO UPDATE THE 457.30 CONTROLLERS, AFTER BEING JAMMED AT 452.06.
I AM NOT HAPPY BECAUSE IT TAKES A LONG TIME TO FIND A BETTER OPTION TO EXIT MAC BOOK PRO.
AND THIS NEVER HAPPENED TO ME BEFORE.
I WISH RAZER TO DO WHAT IT HAS TO DO TO MEET ITS OBLIGATION TO SELL A QUALITY PRODUCT AND MORE FOR THAT PRICE.
I PERFECTLY UNDERSTAND THAT THE COMPONENTS OF YOUR PRODUCT ARE FROM THIRD PARTIES, SO IT MUST BE MORE DEMANDING.
I HOPE THAT THIS MOMENTARY CORRECTION WILL BE DEFINITELY SOLVED.
RAZER, GAINING SOMEONE'S TRUST IS DIFFICULT, LOSING IT IS TOO EASY.
Not solved my issue either. Still a problem Razer, really starting to regret my £3k purchase!

I have an Early 2020 Razer Pro 17 and it's not working for me, like at all. I've tried everything. I can't tell you how many times I've used DDU in the past 3 days. I'm at my wits end here. This laptop is over 5k here in Canada and the fact I can't install gpu drivers from the past 3 months is killing me. I want to love this thing so bad but every time I decide to use it another hiccup. Black screens, random resets of performance settings (120 back to 60), Chroma Studio randomly uninstalling... it's crazy.

Sorry to rant here - I'm just disappointed. This was supposed to be my dream machine.
For the people that have this working, can they please share their exact windows version? Run "winver" in Run Command, and see that build number.
Thanks!
Windows 10 Version 21H1 (OS Build 19043.1055)
NVIDIA Driver: GeForce Game Ready Driver (Verison: 466.77)

Note: I have the late 2019 4K model with an RTX 2080 Max-Q GPU.

Very nearly the same as the previous poster, also with the late 2019 4K model with an RTX 2080 Max-Q GPU:

Windows 10 Pro Version 21H1 (OS Build 19043.1052)
NVIDIA Driver: GeForce Game Ready Driver (Verison: 466.77)

I haven't yet - but I will now. Thank you - I wasn't sure which next steps I should take. Very much appreciated.
I just updated to Windows 10 Pro Version 21H1 (OS Build 19043.1055) and things still look good.

I just did a fresh install of windows and installed the latest nvidia driver 457.51. I can get to the login screen of windows and then 1 second glimpse at my desktop background and then black screen. Only way to get around it is go back to optimus mode. What the heck is going on? I want to use dedicated mode with 120hz

My Razer Blade Pro 17 4K 120 Hz 2020, Not work!

You might want to check your BIOS version. I'm on Razer 1.04. And my Windows version is 10.0.19042 Build 19042.
Yes, with latest Windows version and Nvidia drivers version it all finally works! I'm guessing with no thanks to Razer, since they didn't communicate anything.

Hello everyone.
I regret to report that the black screen returned, and that I am tired of this uncomfortable, stressful and unnecessary situation.
This Razer Blade Pro 17 2020 4k 120hz Laptop has a big problem that I DO NOT PAY for and that I am paying for.
I will begin to see the issue of warranty or return.
All this is really an unfortunate situation.
I was so excited to have a premium device with these components, but the reality that it was shown that it is not.
Sorry Brothers.

Sorry to hear that buddy, I don't have the option of a return anymore I've had mine for over a year now. It's appalling that razer haven't fixed this yet, and worse are not providing any communication or solutions other than revert to the old driver from august which is unacceptable for $3800 machines.
Can anyone confirm this working on 17" 2020 4K 120hz model? I saw the one post with it not working but are there any other 2020 models working? Thx in advance.

Your team is aware of this issue, you even posted in another thread that they were working on a fix two months ago!! Support tickets won't change anything at this point, get a fix out already!
Greetings everyone,

Granted this is anecdotal, but seeing as how there's been little by way of verified FIXES for this issue for months, I'd like to report that I'm seeing initial improvements on the GAME READY 457.51 (02DEC) driver.

Good luck out there, everyone!

@raging20 Just tried on a 17" 2020 4k 120hz model and was not successful. I confirmed bios and windows were updated to the latest, then tried to update the graphics driver...and black screen.

Thanks for the reply. Much appreciated.
ok just updating here that the new 460.79 driver does not fix this, I've done a clean install of the driver after using driver cleaner in safe mode.
Razer Blade Pro 17 4K (late '19) - BIOS 1.04 - NVIDIA game ready driver 460.79

Can confirm that the problem still exists.
After closing cover and reopening, the screen stays black like all other versions after 452.06 and hibernation of the screen. Reverting back to 452.06 again.
460.79 definitely works fine for me, as were the 457.30.

People having the black screen, can you please put some details about your config in your post (model, screen, windows version, etc.) ? To help pinpoint the hardware or software affected.

> Razer Blade 17 Pro 2020, 4K120, 2080S, Windows 20H2, Bios 1.04, Dedicated GPU 120 Hz.
NOT WORK FOR ME!
All Software versions, except NVIDIA driver, are most recent available.

Thanks for the reply. I will try and confirm

NEW DRIVER (version: 471.11) WORKING ON 2020 17" 4k 120hz!!! Just to confirm my post earlier, after installing all of the Windows updates (that i've been pausing for almost the whole past year), then installing the new driver off of Geforce Experience, and making few small tweaks...my Razer is finally where it's suppose to be.

Well, at least for now. I should mention that I had my laptop plugged into my TV (hdmi) during the whole process in case my screen went black. It did blackout after installing the Windows updates (as that was normally what would happen after updating), hence the hdmi to my TV.

Anyway, after installing the new driver off GeForce, i was able to unplug the hdmi and the screen STAYED ON!!! However, after installation i had to go into my display settings and drop the "scale and layout" down to 200% bc my screen looked a little clunky. Windows recommends 250% but i think it looks WAY better at 200%, to each their own tho.

Some BAD news tho, when trying to drop the resolution to 1080p, my screen went BLACK again. I had to reconnect it to my tv (via hdmi) in order to revert back to 2160. I tried dropping the resolution again to 1440 and that seemed to work just fine but for whatever reason, 1080 blacks my screen out.

And lastly, after looking over my settings on Nvidia's Control Panel, i noticed my refresh rate was set at 60hz. I was able to change it to back 120hz no problem. This could've been bc i had my laptop plugged into my TV but idk. Just thought i'd mention it.

That's all i got. Hope this helps somebody. I'll update if i find any more issues.

And YES, running on Dedicated GPU at 120hz on Synapse

UPDATE: Screen stays BLACK when trying to wake it up. And I have to plug in my hdmi to get the screen on when rebooting. I'm able to unplug afterward and the screen stays on but i dont wanna have to keep doing it like that.
