I’ve had my razor kitty headset since Christmas 2021 and they’ve recently started disconnecting a lot with a popping noise. I’m not sure if it’s a razer synapse issue because it’s everytime I move my laptop slightly it disconnects like there’s an issue with the usb/wire that’s broken ?? Is there a way I can fix this if it’s a wire issue ? Kinda upset they’re not even that old and they’re already showing signs of wear and tear :(
same issue here. glad its not just me. using windows 11 and the Synapsys app
Happening to me too, just started doing it with probably an 8 month old headset. Did the same with my old headset. Probably just poorly made… Idk.
Same disconnecting issues here. My keyboard and mouse are both working fine, fortunately, but the headset will repeatedly disconnect/reconnect with that popping sound.
Can’t seem to find any solutions online and Razer is not responding either.
Same for my girlfriends headset.
This has been a pain in the ass for some time, but it stopped for a while. Now it reappeared.
WTF Razer?!?!?!
Keeps on happening to me too. I was initially using it with my laptop and it was fine but using it on my PC makes it disconnect and reconnect and even sometimes mid-game or stream and it makes my whole PC lag. I tried switching ports too since I use a Razer mouse but any other port does the same disconnection issues. Using it on my laptop seems fine tho. Both are updated, on Win10. I’m seriously considering switching to another device if this keeps happening even though I really like the headphones because it is extremely inconvenient
i have the same problem
Tried all USB-Ports, re-Install Synapse - nothing works!

Were you able to isolate the issue by testing the headset on a different PC? PM me the serial number and share a copy of your receipt so I can validate its model and check our options. Thank you!

I have the same problem :(
I have been having the same issue for the last few months, it is incredibly frustrating.
Done the driver re-installs, tried with every USB port that I have and it continues to do the same thing.
Razer can you do something about this??? I got this headset thinking it would last!
I've had this issue for so many years now and I've went through maybe 4/5 headsets. I've managed to get them replaced each time but I don't think I can get any more replacements.
The first one lasted the longest didn't have any issues for about a year and then my issues were fixed by turning off the led lights but then eventually started doing it again. As the replacements went on I made sure to turn the led off completely at the beginning after my first replacement did the same problem after a few months.
Unfortunately it hasn't seemed to have helped, my most recent replacement I never had the LED on at all and it's still eventually did the same thing. It really sucks as I love this headset but clearly it doesn't love me haha. Even trying to isolate the headset and only use mic or headphones doesn't work. It's like the headset is too much work for my pc
Does the wireless ones work any better?
I currently have no mic headset as I wait to decide what to do
Hi guys,
I’m sorry to hear that you’re experiencing the same problem. Please PM me the serial number so I can validate its model and help you escalate your concern to the relevant team for a replacement request if necessary. Thanks!

and pls fix the headset
It’s a power delivery issue. Not sure if you can solve it by putting your mobo on it’s own power rail but if you get a usb power dock with power pass through, it solves the issue. I bought the below hub from Amazon and connected a USB-C cable to it for power. I used a 20w power brick and I t completely solved the issue.
I was at my wits end and after browsing this board, I went and bought this exact usb power dock. Razer Synapse doesn’t recognise that my kitty headset IS plugged in so I can’t fiddle with the audio EQ settings or turn my RGB lights back on. I stll hear the occasional popping and cackling but at least Synapse isn’t making my laptop freeze-lag on top of the audio pop. It’s like I have to position the cable over my left shoulder and stay still for everything to work like i’m adjusting old TV areals. I’m over it. It’s such a shame, too, because for this price a headset should last longer than 3 years imo.
Dare I ask, if I want similar listening sound quality, what’s the next best Razer headset? Or should I give up on this brand altogether?
I ended up buying the wired variant of the kitty v2 headset, it definitely feels cheaper and is made of plastic instead of metal and the padding is worse quality, but the audio quality has been in my opinion very comparable and its been working flawlessly so far
Thank you! That’s a bit relieving to hear, I’ll make a mental note on that, and will most likely avoid USB connectivity for Razer headsets from now on!!!!

useful for everyone who uses this headset:
After buying 4 headsets to adapt better, thinking that the problem was with my Razer Kraken Kitty 7.1 THX, as it kept disconnecting and connecting all the time, I discovered that it has a series of interferences with the passage of energy that the USB of the PC can transmit to it. Basically, it requires a greater amount of power than the PC's USB can provide. The solution I found was to remove the PC USB power limiter in device management and reduce the RGB light intensity in Razer Synapse (from 100 to 40, but no RGB effect is better)So it started working. Sad is not it? But that's it. There is a problem with its construction that requires more power than the PC's USB can transmit.
edit01: Just leaving some information for the people who have it and think it is ''defective'' and for those who have already experienced this.
edit 02: I discovered it through this foreign video and the first comment on the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFLELRIADqw&ab_channel=Mau
edit 03: I bought 3 headsets since then, Razer Kraken Hello Kitty Version headset, RazerThresher 7.1 headset for PS4 and Razer Kraken Kitty Bluetooth headset.
edit 04: Razer know about this problem and not give for us the information to resolve this.

This doesnt help to me….
I have the same problem here...
I got my Kitty headset in November and this issue started happening about 2 months ago and now it keeps happening about 5 times every 15 minutes. It’s really annoying and the sound genuinely hurts my ears. Wish I knew of this issue back when I got them or else I would’ve avoided getting them.
SO I love my Kitty’s, great sound, everything!. I am a online radio Dj. I use these for monitoring as I have a stand alone mic. Whats happened is all of a sudden, when streaming, I will get that slight pop and then my Spacial Audio Program ( SAM ) will freeze. Literally go dead in the water. I had no problems with the headset until now. I have tried plugging it into a hub and still the same thing, I use them without the Synapse etc.. drivers are all correct. They work and then, crackle and everything freezes. I cant use them, when Djn, because of this. It interrupts the streaming and I have to reset my SAM and sometimes even the PC.
How do I fix this?
I use Windows 11. and SAM version pro, 2020.8
I use a Blue Snowball. Mic and or the Razer Sirein.
I'm havinf the same problem… Since last year it keeps conecting and disconecting. Just a click sound...

Hi I had the same problem and I think I found a solution.
Personally my cable tends to get tangled a lot and I think that this created electrical short circuit because the cable touches itself in certain places.
So I have simply used a smooth object to gently pull the cable and untangle it, I haven't had any problems since.
Hope this helps !
This is now my 3rd Kraken Kitty headset and the 3rd that has had this issue happen. It’s always every now and again. It’s heartbreaking because it’s now out of warrenty and it’s disgusting it’s been replaced twice yet exactly the same issue is presenting in each. I look after my hardware and treat it with respect, there’s minimal wear and tear. Although it seems to be an issue with the actual headset rather than something I’m doing.
This has put me off ordering another razer headset after being a fan for years.
