Question

Blackwidow v4 X lightissue

Mochi.latte

Just got the keyboard. But after installing Synapse 3, my #2 key on the numpad is not lighting up.

Tried different settings. (Un)plugging the usb to a different input. Reinstalling the software. Non with result.

Also noticed that when i did set up a light for that key in specific, my #1 key on the numpad would get that effect. #2 is completely unresponsive (pressing the key does get recognized).

However, when i close Synapse. it does light up.

Head scratching. Send help pls

Edit: Also noticed that synapse doesnt save any key adjustments i make on the keyboard. but it does on my other devices

Just wait for a Synapse update with a fix. I suppose everyone is having Blackwidow v4 X problems like this now. It’s definitely Synapse issue. You might also notice that keyboard roller is scrolling the screen instead of changing volume by default. Also Hypershift (Fn) function are broken. There are no such problems when Synapse is shut down.

OK im new around here. When can i expect the update? Also my other devices do work fine with synapse, so i was thinking the problem was more on the keyboard itself?

I bought this keyboard recently and have a same problems with Synapse as yours. And we’re not alone here.
The next update will start rolling on Nov 16th. However, I don’t know if Blackwidow v4 X issues will be fixed in this update.

It’s weird that you and I are having the same exact issue with our keyboards. My RGB works perfect until I launch Synapse and then the key you specified, the number 2 key on the numpad stops working. What’s even weirder, it seems that the number 2 key’s RGB is addressed to the number 1 key if that makes sense. Can you test something that I’ve noticed? In Synapse if you go to Studio and set up Reactive lighting on the numpad, when I do this and press the number 2 key, the number 2 key does nothing, but the number 1 key does the “React” animation. Furthermore, if I make the number 1 key a certain color, and then change the static color of the 2 key to another color, 2 will stay dim but 1 will receive the color meant for 2.

I hope Razer Support sees this thread as this is happening with multiple cases.

In Chroma studio, if i change the light of numpad key #1 nothing happens.

If i change the color of #2, it affects #1. and 2 remains dimmed

The keys themselves do work normally as in their function
