Alright folks, I see a lot of speculation and anger in this thread, so I'll try pitching in.

Yes, we're working on adding support for more legacy devices. We added support for 3 older devices to Synapse 3 just this month.

As opposed to the popular belief, we're not holding devices hostage just for the sake of it or because our "1 intern that works on Synapse" is lazy. Synapse 3 requires development from ground up and that takes time. The new products had been in development on Synapse 3 for a few months leading up to their release, the same effort has to go into every single legacy device that we bring on Synapse 3.

The easiest way out for us would be to draw a line and leave all the Synapse 2 devices behind... a driver package already exists for them and no promises were made about Synapse 3 when they were released (Synapse 3 didn't even exist). But that wouldn't be the best experience for existing users who would have to use 2 software to control their devices. And what's not right for our users isn't right for us, full stop. So, we fully committed ourselves to bringing as many Synapse 2 devices to Synapse 3 as feasible (technically and logistically).

But as mentioned before, there is no magic stick that will make devices appear in Synapse 3. A lot of ground-up development and testing work has to go into adding support for legacy devices and it will be a slow process which will take months, but we'll continue working on it well into 2018.

Not currently. Synapse 3 is still in Beta, and this page has a list of all currently supported devices. Also, just in case you are on Mac OS, Synapse 3 is not available for use with that operating system yet.

Also... Is there anyway the community can help with testing of these legacy items?

Yes, absolutely. The primary testing has to be done by Razer, there's no way to get around that. But once the release is out in the public, please report any and all bugs you encounter... it is always highly appreciated when the users submit bug reports with all relevant details. The engineering team was able to fix a bug less than 24 hours recently because they received all the correct information.

As opposed to the other popular theory of Synapse being a keylogger and tracking users' actions, we have absolutely no visibility into what's happening on your PCs until you choose to report it to us. Some bugs can only be reproduced under specific conditions, which is only evident once we can see the Synapse event log. Without that, it's basically shooting in the dark and guessing what the possible fix could be.

I'm sure that they are definitely working on it!

Of course.
Their one intern is hard at work!
Min announced at the keynote that they are also working on providing support for legacy devices. I say trust Min's words and wait, I'm sure that they are definitely working on it!

I read that it will even be backward compatible with older Razer devices. That's the icing on the cake.

Yeaaaah that's cool
Since 6 month I can't use the Chroma on my Razer Stuff (Ornata, Mamba TE, Chroma Mug, Razer Kraken, etc) because Synapse 2.0 is broken and Synapse 3 is empty of device compatibility

I have Razer Mamba Wireless 2015 edition and I want to buy a Razer keyboard, but I'm not gonna buy one until the light on both device work together on one Synapse! Razer is losing customers this way! I would love a keyboard with RGB, but if it can't work together with my mouse in the same program, then what's the point of buying one? It's taking to long and we are not happy! :mad_:

I went even further than your suggestion ... I quit all my Razer devices after waiting far too long for "One Version Non beta" that would control all my devices.
Sooo Glad I did the move away from Razer & now have a full set of Steelseries devices running under ONE version of software thats not a beta & they all work perfectly....
Razer has to be losing customers over this software debacle...how many...who knows...maybe Razer dont care?
Razer as a company dont care about its software support of its products as shown time & time again by the feedback on this forum.

Replace your Razer hardware with other manufacturers products & you will quickly see that the software issues dont need to exist.
I swapped out three of Razer products for new Steelseries products, the steelseries all run under just one version of software & I have zero issues with them.

Based on three years of beta software so far & counting by Razer do you honestly expect them to ever get this fixed?

Change your hardware & lose the stress & inconvenience of Razer software!

There hardware might be acceptable but thats no good if the software support is as poor as has been shown to be the case todate.
This is just outrageous. For 3 years they have been ****** the community, over the past year, NO ONE old device has been added to the support list. The forum thread is simply ignored by the company. They just sit and wait, when people spit on waiting and go buy new devices. Several times I wrote in support, no reaction, everyone does not care. I do not know what happened, but this is absolutely not the company that I remember.
I used the company's products for 8 years, took the top 50 in dota and the top 20 in sc2 on these mice and the good old widow. If I had not bought Tiamats 7.1 v2, I would have thrown all these shit into the bin and moved on to something else a year ago.
All who will read this, dont even think to buy new razer products, razer is dead.
If I wouldn't be so enraged about the simply bad behaviour of Razer at the moment I would simply rage quit...

@RazerThe_Fiend

I have a DeathStalker Ultimate (the one with the touchscreen and dynamic keys).
I'm safe to assume that this keyboard won't be supported in Synapse 3, right?
Or you have plans to implement the Switch Blade UI too?

As a standard practice, I can't comment on plans for specific devices. But SBUI developement was deprecated quite some time ago, so that should be an indication enough in this case.

And Naga Epic Chroma still isn't supported either, so after 9+ months I'm still forced to use both V2 and V3. I've had several support cases opened but no answers.

Just sell your Razer products and buy another brand, don't look back.

@mltan : Listen, to what's going on in your company. If you are still interrested ?! Don't looks like !
Well after waiting so long for synapse 3 support for my Mamba wireless mouse(flagship mouse?) so that I could use my fireflymouse mat along with my Razer base station chroma all on synapse three rather than having to use both 2 & 3.
I retired all of them.
Now giving my support to Steelseries with my new steelseries 650 rival wireless mouse sat on a Steelseries Prism xl rgb mat.
Never again will I support Razer products.
Oh & the very fact I will no longer have to login to Razer for my devices to run..cloud based bullshit.. fill me with joy.

Razer dropped the ball by not supporting its high end & high cost products such as the Mamba Wireless & lost a long time supporter/customer in the process.

You have to wonder how many other customers have also walked away from Razer due to its poor support?
Unfortunately loking through the forums here & elsewhere Razer really dont seem to care about long term customers.
They just hope you will buy their new products & then expect you to put up with running either two versions of Synapse software & with all its limitations & issues & mess withhout question.

With a number of great alternative products now available & with users becoming far better informed with the extensive online reviews & poor Razer supported software that will be there downfall....not the hardware.

Great Hardware paired with poor software support requiring the running of two synapse versions will never be acceptable in todays market.

Wonder if senior management are fully aware of the lost sales & anti Razer sentiment occuring with their appaling support of what was a loyal customer base?

Just want to point out. if you want it this bad. you could always program your own integration software. And I'm going to go ahead and assume you don't know how to do that. so instead you could just be patient and wait. While you want your naga epic chroma to be updated to synapse 3... I'm sure someone else wants their kraken 7.1 V2 updated as well. they have a lot to work on. Also here is a question you should ask yourself. "I wonder why they could have possibly put the BETA next to it?". In case you didn't know the exact definition of a beta test is, "a trial of machinery, software, or other products, in the final stages of its development, carried out by a party unconnected with its development." in other words... ITS NOT FINISHED YET. yes so while it may not be rocket science, it still takes quite a bit of time and effort. So the least you could do is show a little bit of patience.

I just want to point out that we are not paying hundreds of dollars to a certain company to write our own software, for the devices it makes, OK? They are a big company and as such they should have the enough people in each department. What if I am a programmer, you think I have the free time to write software for a company this big for free? Are you out of your mind? These are products meant for gamers, not coders, correct me if I'm wrong, please. Synapse has been in beta 3 years... 3.long.years.... and they are working only on importing the new devices, because f us right? We are just a bunch of idiots, we will get the new products anyway... Being patient for a great company? P.LEASE... this "great" company is going downtown fast, because of their "dev department", if they even have one... they are probably paying a third party company to write their code. And yes I've been patiently waiting for my Kraken 7.1 V2 to become supported... guess what, I'm out of patience. This is pathetic...

Then why did you use ARMOR's quote about how His device only lasted 3 years. His device used synapse 2.

Because only using Synapse2 is only half of the truth !
Most of us (not me anymore, and that costs me a lot of money) are forced to use two incompatible drivers of the same "premium" company. There would be no problem, if we could stay with Syn2, as it is, for all old and new products, and it would be okj, if we could stay with a Syn3 without beta and bugs. But both is not possible !
That's not acceptable.
Seriously considering switching to Corsair. The quality of these products is slowly dwindling as is.
I understand synapse 3 is in beta and that's it's not completely finished yet, but why would you force people to use it then? You can't force people to use software that isn't finished yet and is still in beta (for over 3 years...). This is just so sad... :frown_:

A company that isn't capable of finishing a software within 3 years! It's an oath of manifestation. But they have no scruples to take premium prices for their bad products.
I just bought a razer orbweaver chroma and a naga trinity assuming that they are supported by synapse 3, instead after spending 200.00 of peripherals I find myself using 2 software synapse and with the doubt that the razer orbweaver is not supported by synapse 3, you can help me if you know something about the support yes this peripheral
Note that although this is a Razer forum how little if any feedback by Razer on when they might...if ever.. get their shit together regarding there currently attrocious software support of their products.

I still have the previous three Razer items that would not operate under one version of non beta software stored away in the hope that they maybe of use to someone in the future.

In all fairness I would not even donate them free of charge to anyone whilst the current softwarfe fiasco is remains unresolved.

All Razer hardware should be able to run under 1 non beta software, new products should automatically be recognised & suported under that one version too.

Whoever has allowed this software support to get to the stage where customers are being driven away to alternate manufactures should be sacked along with replacing the software team leader so that Razer might have a half decent chance of moving forward with quality support of its customers & a return to improving sales.
My opinion its to add every device to synapse 3 cuz we cant use 10 versions of synapse I got blackwindow 2014,kraken 7.1and deathadder elite so for now I need synapse 2.

Yes ! All this time, I was hoping, that they would integrate the Orbweaver and fix their problems. That's why I am still here.
But frustration kept growing about this weird management decisions and development with bugs and 3 years of beta, not integrating devices, that are still sold!
Meanwhile I sold my other Razer devices with lots of loss, and as long nothing verifiable happens, I will not buy any Razer product or recommend it to others.

So, it has been 2 years since this post. Can you give us an update, which devices are planned to be added? I still can't use my DeathAdder Chroma, DeathStalker or Kranken Pro 7.1V2 Chroma.
I just bought a Razer Nari and had to install Synapse 3 since it doesn't show up in Synapse 2. But no matter what I do or which settings I use, the Microphone quality is trash compared to the Kraken Pro 7.1V2 - Why don't you just use this mic in the Nari?
