Razer Headset Keeps Disconnecting Because of Brightness Lighting Effect, Causing Audio To Cut Out / Glitch / Pop.

Over the past few months, I've encountered an issue with my Razer Kraken Kitty headset where it randomly disconnects for about 2-3 seconds, causing the audio to completely cutoff, then resumes as if nothing happened. This would happen irregularly, ranging from every 4-5 minutes to every 20 minutes. Initially, I suspected a problem with the USB connection, but when I tested this on my old laptop, it worked perfectly fine. I also found out that It would work better when I exited the synapse software entirely, but I would still occasionally experience some disconnections every couple of hours or so.

So, I’d uninstall and reinstall the driver, which worked for a little while, but the popping would eventually come back again. I have a pretty beefy computer with plenty of space, so I was really confused about what the issue could possibly be. So, after months of uninstalling and reinstalling, repairing the driver, updating everything, cleaning my USB ports, and all kinds of troubleshooting with no real answer, I thought it might’ve been a Windows 11 bug since my old laptop was running Windows 10 and didn’t have any issues. I tried contacting Windows for support but haven’t received any feedback.

Recently, I discovered that if I turned off "brightness" on the lighting tab in the Razer Synapse application, the disconnection/audio problem that I’ve been experiencing seemingly just disappeared! I don’t have an explanation for this and was wondering if I could get an answer since I'd still like to use the lighting effects on my headset.

If you have any other questions for me Lmk! Any feed back would be appreciated! :D

Sadly didn´t worked for me XD

Strangly enough, they work fine if i´m in a game.

I also have this problem.  Exiting Synapse does not fix the audio disconnect/pop issue for me.

There are many threads about the Razer Kraken Kitty with this disconnection problem, but they’ve mostly been closed without solution (the person who closes them say they will take it to PM) so it seems there is no way to figure out what a fix for it can be.

Hey,

yeah you need to write them a PM and they help you than. Worked for me now too. Just waiting for the replacement right now.

I am having this exact same issue now. I’ve noticed that it happens when I try to use a customize RGB lighting. Without any RGB alterations it works just fine.

useful for everyone who uses this headset:

After buying 4 headsets to adapt better, thinking that the problem was with my Razer Kraken Kitty 7.1 THX, as it kept disconnecting and connecting all the time, I discovered that it has a series of interferences with the passage of energy that the USB of the PC can transmit to it. Basically, it requires a greater amount of power than the PC's USB can provide. The solution I found was to remove the PC USB power limiter in device management and reduce the RGB light intensity in Razer Synapse (from 100 to 40, but no RGB effect is better)So it started working. Sad is not it? But that's it. There is a problem with its construction that requires more power than the PC's USB can transmit.

edit01: Just leaving some information for the people who have it and think it is ''defective'' and for those who have already experienced this.

edit 02: I discovered it through this foreign video and the first comment on the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFLELRIADqw&ab_channel=Mau

edit 03: I bought 3 headsets since then, Razer Kraken Hello Kitty Version headset, RazerThresher 7.1 headset for PS4 and Razer Kraken Kitty Bluetooth headset.

edit 04: Razer know about this problem and not give for us the information to resolve this.

I know I had made a thread about this a while back, I am pretty sure I never got a response that it would be taken to PM, but in the case I did receive a response that said that, I never got one, and still have the issue, but I just found this thread, so it’s hopefully worth a try.

Surprisingly, it work with my Razer Kraken V3 Pro
