Hello guys, a few days ago I have been having a problem of high cpu usage sometimes up to 100% with the WMI provider host and reading in reedit I realized that several people had this problem and that it was caused by razer synapse 3 software when uninstalling it the problem went away and my cpu returned to normal, do you have a solution for this, my keyboard and mouse are Razer. thank you very much.

Note: I have windows 11 Pro and i9 13900k RTX 4090 and Asus Z790 Hero.

a year later, no fix. A YEAR. what is going on?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Finally updated Synapse, but whenever I chose the headphones output (THX Spatial or the Razer Audio Controller) basically some things that are running in the PC at the same time starts to stutter or malfunctioning, and if I directly chose other output (like the normal jack without the THX thing) it works perfectly, that’s weird AF

I don’t use the THX thing a lot because basically are no games compatible yet, but I like the Equalizer config I have, but I can’t use it because the “THX USB Thing output” breaks the PC performance lol.

PS: It didn’t happen before “that” update, played games with my EQ config without problems, but now, I can’t, sadge

uninstall antivirus if using avast/avg etc. reboot pc. install synapse 3. reinstall antivirus. in that order.

It didn’t fixed anything for me. In fact, it can’t even being uptdated lol. I tried checking updates, did nothing, uninstalled and tried the web installer, get stucks at 100% always while the Game Central still consuming 31% of CPU xD

Happy to report the issue has been resolved for me as well.

Thanks to info from Peter8UK

The actual installer RazerSynapseInstaller_V1.12.0.385 is the same everywhere in the world.  I did “fc /b” compare on different files, and they are all the same.

Whether it is https://www.razer.com/gb-en/synapse-3  or https://www.razer.com/hk-en/synapse-3 or https://www.razer.com/us-en/synapse-3

The key is, before you run the installer, you need to be a UK IP address, then it will go download the new version.  Maybe only the UK server is hosting the new version at the moment.

I VPN to UK before running the installer, and it picked up the new version.

It seems only a handful of people managed to get this not-yet-public update.

I tried check for updates (nothing), tried installing again with latest installer (nothing).

Razer support said this is being rolled out region by region.  I have tried VPN to Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, USA, and still am not able to pick up this update.

I didn't really download the so call new update. This are the software versions that I am currently using. It seems got to do with Razer side (not very sure).

You are still on the old CPU hogging version 3.8.209.20311 Synapse

No new version found when I check for update.

Same, no new version. I am in Italy

I was able to install the new update. (right clicked Synapse icon and clicked Check for Updates)

CPU usage is back to normal.

Can you disclose which country you are in?  I’ll try VPN to see whether it makes any difference.

In addition to check for update, I have explicitly turned on auto update, it does not detect any new version.

I then re-downloaded the installer and re-install Synapse 3 again, it is still the old CPU hogging version.

Where can you download this update?

I tried Check for Update from within Synapse.  I also tried to manually download from https://www.razer.com/synapse-3

Both places are still on old version.

Sharing my support ticket update on this issue, I received below response on my support ticket.

Hi Ivan,

As of the moment, no ETA was provided yet. Please be advised that the logs that we are asking previously are the necessary information that we needed for the investigation. Need not worry, as mentioned, we respect your decision not to provide those details.

You may try checking for Synapse updates in case an update will be released to fix the issue.

How to manually check for updates on Razer Synapse 3

Thank you for choosing Razer.

Sincerely,

Razer L2 Support

Same here, I haven’t found any release notes at all. Usually you can deduce some “inspiration” on what might have changed and might have caused our WMI-CPU load problems.

Yes, but the bottom line is… if the website can’t keep pages correct and version updated even after a week, then overall quality of “work” is lacking something.

Sidenote: Early days (1997) of the Visual Studio suite, my company was checking to see if it was ok for production use. Still remember the sinking feeling when the splash screen for program came up at startup and there was spelling errors in it… not a good start…

There is an option to turn off Razer start up splash screen.

Read the sidenote carefully… it was not the splash screen as such… it was that it contained errors and thus implies that the coding might also include errors in Visual Studio 97...

I tried but cannot find any release notes.

Even if you use the older installer, during installation, you will immediately get upgraded to V1.12.0.385/
