Hi all.
This post is to bring the attention of Razer's dev team and Razer's business strategic team to the need to update synapse at Version 3. I'm trying the new Mamba Elite and it's... absolute fantastic, better my old Mamba. I've tried it on my PC and on my Mac and Synapse 3 is necessary on both.
So, please, don't forget Mac community and make an update for Synapse: it's OK also a "light" version of drivers, without Chroma Lab, only for edit bottons on mouse and keyboard, macro and Chroma effects.
---
This will be nice to have a good present for xmas :)

I'm in the same boat. Just bought a BlackWidow only to be disappointed that I can't use chroma effects in Steam games. Would be nice to have synapse 3

I have talked with razer and they say that they are busting their asses to have the synapse 3 working with mac users. I have an ornata chroma myself an you might know that the lighting is kind of half of the keyboard.
so yeah FIX THIS RAZER!

What does this mean? Busting their asses how? Is there a release date?
I got word officially from Razer. There are no plans to support Mac OS drivers for Razer products beyond current ones, no updated of drivers and that synapse 3 will only be available now and in the future for the Windows platform. I will post my emails in their entirety but they will no doubt be deleted and I will be banned.

Mac and other users have been cut off, due to what they described as “licensing issues.” 10.14 is the last officially supported version.

So, that’s all folks. We’ve been abandoned by another hardware company who says we’re too expensive to develop for. I have over 10 years of Razer products, starting with a high resolution mouse because they were one of the only companies to offer ambidextrous products of high quality. I’m a designer and artist, and sued their products to create. And that’s it. I’m sure, if they decide to reply, they’ll direct us to USB Overdrive, which is a great product but doesn’t give us the true full Razer experience. And I’m sure it’s all Apple’s fault; that’s the typical response.

I wish them luck in the future. I hope they continue to make great products for someone. And they’ve lost what I had hoped to be a lifelong, loyal customer that was a cheerleader for them on all platforms.

I’ll be looking elsewhere for other great products, that are high resolution and prescribe for artists and designers, not just gamers. I’ll miss the glowing snakes and the inherent coolness of their products.

But I guess this is the end of the road for us.
Original: "i just got a Mac OS alert that the driver is now legacy and won't be supported in the next os update. There's a thread in your support community that has 198 unanswered posts to you, all from Mac users. even if you don't update use to synapse 3, update synapse 2 to support the current OS so we can keep using your products. third party drivers are not going to help us in the long run. come on, we've supported you by buying your products for years. return the favor. please!"

Reply from Aarom S.:

"Hi XXXXxXXX,

Thank you for getting back to me.

To answer your query, Razer currently has no plan for future update on the macOS as all new products will be supported exclusively on Synapse 3 for Windows.

Sincerely,
Aaron

I use Mac OSX Catalina 10.15.4. Do you plan to develop the Synapse 3 application or at least make version 2 compatible for this OS. Thanks in advance.
Atauvent, so do I. refer to y my post above. According to what they told me. Razer has no plans to su[[psrt to the Mac OS beyond what we have now.
Ok,many thanks from Logitech and my dog, the first retrieve a user, the second win a Basilisk V2. :mad_:
Please stop to confirm compatibility with Mac OS.

Dear Razer, I'd like to propose it in a logical way. Many non-gamers (like designers, Audio and Video Editors, etc) who are top in the field of their profession have been utilising Gaming Equipment for their quality and build.

I myself am a DTP designer, is a former Windows user until we found Macs to be more productive. So at the time, when I transferred to Mac, I also brought with me my peripherals, liike mice, gamepads, keyboards, etc.

At the time, even though you didn't support Mac all that well, there were some options for us to use Razer products with Macs. But now with your statement

"The latest version of Razer Synapse 3 is only supported on the Windows platform. Synapse 2.0 for MAC will be available up to MAC OS 10.14 only. Moving forward, all new products will be supported exclusively on Synapse 3 for Windows."

This is a suicide statement to inform us, that Mac users are no longer welcome to use Razer products.

As a specialist, we do not budget ourselves when buying equipment for our work, unlike pure gamers, they want the best, but can't afford it most of the time, hence, big sales in cheaper products.

When discussing sales of your higher priced items like Huntsman Elite, Blackwidow Elite, Basilisk Ultimate, Nari Ultimate, etc. Who do you think are your most influencial buyers? Gamers? I find that highly unlikely. Mac Users spend more money per device, per accessory and per service than any Windows user ever. So, when it comes to your multi-million dollar sales mark, I urge you to consider the Mac market as having just as much potential as the Windows market. Unless you plan on selling $10 mice by the millions and forget your high line.

I'm just upset, because I've just purchased a Basilik Ultimate, Huntsman Elite, Tartarus Pro and a new Goliathus Chroma Extended, to find that Razer is pulling this stunt again.

For Mac users, I can only suggest, install and setup your goods through Parallels and store the settings on the device, then when you apply it using your Mac, it should still work. I hope it does for me anyway.

And this will be my final purchase from Razer. Adios amigo...it's Steelseries, Logitech and others for me. Even Corsair has updated iCue for Mac.

Man I couldn't agree more. I'm in the same profession too, and have been very disappointed in the lack of support Razer has for Mac. I got my stuff to work at first, then it was nothing but problems, and couldn't get much help so I stopped using it. Pulled it out the closet months later and had the lights working anyways, still had trouble with the mouse glitching out, which doing graphic design and video, is a PITA if the mouse glitches... Now I got another Mac, same exact model, just another one, and I can't even get the lights to do anything. Stuck on one pattern. My mouse pad stays on a single color and won't even read in the Synapse app... I've wasted well over $500 on Razer products from multiple mouse pads, mice, and keyboards, to sit and collect dust. Each time I've reached out, have been treated as if it's my problem, yet all my cheap products off amazon haven't had issues... I think it's bout time to just move on and never look back.
i have moved over to SteelSeries. my razer stuff now sits in a box. that's four mice (didn't register all of them), a black widow my wife got me for christmas, a Goliathus Chroma and an Invicta Mercury Editon mouse mat. i even convinced my IT at work to load Synapse 2. now, it looks like i've got to ask for SteelSeries Engine 3 to be installed. i like the SteelSeries mice; they're a little lighter than Razer's offerings but the software support is there.

like hakwins above, i suppose i could through parallels and set everything up but native driver support is what we need. i don't buy the "licensing issue" answer; why are other hardware makers able to do it? and like i said, if you don't want to develop synapse 3 for the mac, keep updating 2 at least or open source the code so we can do it. but you won't because you hold all the cards and you've already got all our money.

your hardware is so expensive but we bought it because it was compatible with the Mac OS. So yeah, we're all pissed off, abandoned and ... disappointed. We know we're a small portion of your business; we're a small portion of everyone's business. but we're loyal to those companies that are loyal to us.

so, we're going to go find someone else who won't take our money and kick us to the curb. i kept every sticker i got with a Razer product. guess i'll shred those now. thanks for the years you cared and supported us; we do appreciate it. but it's s***** what you're doing. and it's wrong, especially when we've spent so much over the years. guess it was, in the end, not "for the gamers" but for the money. thanks for the clarification.
We are not gamers here, but working with several Razer devices : Blackwidow Chroma v2 (orange switch) keyboards and Mamba mices.
The bad quality of Razer's software is already famous.
The loss of respectability will be more expensive than simply updating a driver.
I have a macbook pro 16, catalina, and I bought a new DA elite and it no longer works, it automatically double-clicks and the razer software is terrible, I was 9 years old I created with the DA 3.5 it was the best purchase of razer 100%, but now what happened to you? bad mouse
I have the same problem, I just got the Kraken Ultimate which works just fine but I cant configure the RGB or the headphone settings which is sad, I am disappointed in the fact that Windows have had the beta for months now but they haven't put out the synapse 3 for mac. I understand that they are a windows targeted company but they have the synapse 2 for mac, why not 3. To be honest I don't think it would be just good for the buyer but also good for razer as more people will actually buy their products for use on mac os, another thing they could do is maybe just update synapse 2 to accept the newer devices.
I didn’t know Razer Synapse 3 can’t work on Mac system before I Bought Razer Tartarus pro keypad. There is no any description on keypad product page. (This is my first time to buy Razer)
I am a film audio editor. Now I don’t know what can I do to use the keypad work :frown_::frown_::frown_:
Will they update net product on Razer Synapse 2?
Or I need to give up Razer :frown_::frown_::frown_:
I made this account solely so I can vent my frustration with Razer. I just bought a Tartarus Pro and a Basilisk 16000 and found out Razer doesn't support macOS anymore. Silly me to assume my very expensive peripherals would work with my new laptop. Luckily I can return them, but it definitely is a very bad look for such a premium brand to lack macOS support, and claiming "licensing issues" no less!
I too bought it due to the advertised Mac compatibility to only be sorely disappointed. I will be returning one of the two we just bought.

You have to return your purchase. There is no hope. It won't work.
You should warn everyone you know to never buy a Razer product because of catastrophic support.
There is a possibility of a class action. But I have no time to loose anymore with Razer.

I unfortunately am on the same problem with the mamba elite.. also I had just got the hunstman elite and goliath mousepad. None of which i have work for synapse 2. and 3 is obviously windows only.. have you figured out ways around this yet?

Same problem here
I just realized I can't customise the huntsman te after I bought it and plugged into my mac
Is this for real? Just bought keyboard, mouse, headset and mousepad for my kid three month ago and I explicitly told them that I will use the stuff with my iMac. For how long have this information been out? I know you guys at Razer have a licensing issue but I got a hardware issue and the hardware is your brand not working on my computer as of today since you decided to kill the driver renewal. Please show me the EULA/SLA.
I love my Deathadder Elite and my Nari Ultimate headset. The Deathadder is still supported by synapse 2 but it is long out of date and they really need to release v.3 for Mac. Now whenever I turn on my computer I get a notice saying that V.2 will no longer work with the next release of macOS, coming this fall. This is bullshit on Razer's part, it really isn't that hard to port the damn software! JUST DO IT ALREADY, PLEASE! There are hundreds of comments here about this, why is no-one listening to us????
nearly 2 years later and there's nothing
this is unacceptable
also razer is being a bitch not gonna lie. they dont care about us mac users and its annoying. my mom bought me a deathadder elite and now i cant use it
