Windows driver foundation 100% cpu usage when using razer synapse 2.0
So i looked into task manager one day to see that Windows Driver Foundation is using 50% of my cpu after i turned synapse off it went away any ideas on how to fix this issue?

dropping in to say i also have this incredibly annoying problem! my Electra v2 works fine and there's no high CPU usage when Synapse is closed but then i can't use the 7.1 so what's even the point of having the headset??

This is just getting beyond ridiculous. My dual Xeon with 16 cores lose more than 30% of CPU power every time I launch this ridiculous software. I'm so sorry that I even considered to buy razer. Never ever razer again Steelseries will have my money.
What "bugs" me the most... There have been "some" bugs lately .. with synapse 3.0. They were dealt with swiftly. Yet what 'bout a 60% BUG that's fucking up the "PLATFORM" for like ALL the WIN10\\1809 update | Razer Electra v2 ?!? ... users.

yes, I know, but I think, that many of them may have other Razer device too, so they need Synapse. And there is no way, to exclude one device from Synapse, af I know.

This is ridiculous, you straight up ignore people on reddit and in your formus. I've tried those stupid headphones on 2 other computers and what do you know? SAME ISSUE!!! What in the hell is going on with this incapable dev team. I'm 99.99% sure it's your software issue. You just can't ignore people. Have you even tried to fix the problem or only waited for few days and wrote this stupid answer that the issue can't be reproduced by our chimpanzees in the lab. When I open windows event log it even says: "The device HID-compliant headset (location (unknown)) is offline due to a user-mode driver crash. Windows will attempt to restart the device 5 more times. Please contact the device manufacturer for more information about this problem."
It's very easy to reply that it's caused by third party apps in your computer causing this. Then tell me what kind of PC does not have any? Or give me a hint or something that might cause this? Imagine you drive your bike and your chain comes off and someone tells you can't drive your bike because your chain is off.. like no shit Sherlock... Maybe just maybe, that this third party app is Razer Synapse, have you ever thought of that and then fix your software?

I Might have a temporary solution that will let you get the benefits of razer synapse 2 without it being open and it works 100% with me,
I have Razer Electra V2 USB and I was suffering from the high CPU usage from razer synapse 2 and windows driver foundation whenever I open Synapse 2, and it disappears when I unplug it from my computer or force end task for the razer synapse application
All what you have to do is:
1. Open Razer Synapse 2.
2. Do whatever settings you want to do with it for your headset and your microphone.
3. Under the headset picture press on "sync now" link.
4. Put Razer Synapse 2 on offline mode ( this is the most important step).
5. Go to task manager, find Razer synapse (32bit), select it and press end task.
BoOoOom,:big_grin_::big_grin_: it works! you still can get the benefits now from Synapse without it being open now, and also the CPU Usage now is 0%.
I've made sure that this works by playing with the equalizer and make the sound feels odd then i've done the steps above and it works.
Please try this and let me know the results, This should work until Razer Co. makes a solution for their shitty software.

I just reinstall synapse with no addon (no cortex etc no hue, etc ... ) i'm pretty sur the problem is from cortex.

This solved the problem with Synapse3 killing the CPU with Windows 10 WMI exceptions. The important step is to do the reinstall with "run as administrator".

Update Microsoft OS
• Select the Start button, and then go to Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and select Check for updates
Uninstall and re-install Synapse.
• Go to the control panel>program/program and feature> click on uninstall the program.
• Find the Razer Synapse and click on uninstall.
• Go to: https://www.razer.com/synapse-3 and download the Synapse.
• Right click on the downloaded installer and run it as Administrator.
• Follow the instruction and wait until the installation is finished.
• Restart your PC
Unfortunately, this does not work with Synapse 2, which is the software required for the Electra V2 headset.

Edit: I have tried to do the same on another pc and there's no problem. I have found one difference, the Device Driver. I think the problem is the latest update. The one that gives me problems is 14/09/2018 and the one that works on the other pc is 06/09/2017. Now I need to know how to substitute the new version for the old one

Same here guys: after Windows updated to build 1809 the problem has started. I have verified that with Windows 1803 there is no problem. Tested also on a completely different system with Windows 1809 and an Intel CPU (mine is an AMD) SAME problem. I have an open case with Razer since December 12th... I have three Razer peripherals (keyboard, mouse, headphones), the problem is caused by the headphones (only).
@npapanik - Hey just do what i did. I know Synapse 3 kinda sucks atm... not having all the legacy products in. You can still extract your mouse and keyboard with their respective settings from Synapse 2 with the Tournament Drivers. Leaving your headset aside ofc. This way you can still stay with 2.0 .. but it's offline.. and no updates whatsoever ...
