So I've owned my late 2016 blade for over 2 years now. I really never played games with it as much as I intended to since I have an SLI desktop rig as well as my Xbox X which I use primarily (tbh). I don't think I've run a single game on my blade in at least over a year until the past month. So I've been trying to play fortnite. My 6700hq gtx1060 blade is outputting an extremely disappointing FPS. It really only becomes playable at medium settings. The game runs extremely inconsistently. Sometimes I get 30-50fps avg on epic settings. I could never ever complete a play session at epic settings without a dip under 45fps. Yes I am playing in 1080p. I have tried everything including fresh install of fortnite, checking battery settings, making sure the game is running on the 1060, uninstall/reinstall of geforce experience, Razer bios update, windows updates, with/without razer cortex. Every single possible obvious settings check for nvidia control panel, windows, etc. haven't tried with
As I own a Blade Stealth + Core for more than a year now, there are some points that I would really want to see in a feature device and some that are already really great. So I just thought I leave another wishlist here (although I will keep my Blade Stealth for many many more years), as a feedback. My usecases: - light gaming on the go (League of Legends mostly), currently not really possible for me, because the Stealth got no integrated graphics - heavy and light gaming stationary, works perfectly fine - graphics heavy software like Blender - studying, programming for my studies Wishlist: - graphics card in Blade Stealth (already available with New Blade Stealth, thx Razer :) ) - 2in1 convertible with pen digitizer, especially for Blade Stealth. Windows 10 has a good pen input support and having the option to fold the screen 360 degrees and write with a pen is a huge benefit for students (which are a target audience for Blade Stealth) - 4k 120Hz OLED Panel (gaming at 1080p 120Hz,
Hey ya'll I'm gonna try to keep this short and sweet. Thinking about getting the newest Razer blade 15 ( the ones that got BOTH HDD and SSD - its gonna drop in about a week or so) Specs are almost a carbon copy of the current blade 15's. I wanted to ask if anyone who has a current 15 could drop a review about it? Pros/cons. Battery life and performance? Is Razers customer support REALLY trash?? Does it really not charge if the computer is already turned off? Any charging brick issues?
Long story short, I had purchased then returned the 15" Razer last summer. There was much I liked, some that I tolerated, and a few bits that I didn't like. Sadly, I thought Apple announced the 2018 MacBook Pro with an improved keyboard, I thought it would be a better fit, so I returned the razer and bought the MBP. That machine is not living up to my expectations, and I'm now looking to replace it.. Also, I've had times wondered why I returned the razer, an inverse buyer's remorse if you will, I have to say I absolutely love the design of the Razer, the keyboard felt great and the performance was awesome. It seems I have an opportunity to perhaps right some wrongs in my purchase decisions, but first I do have some questions: Quality: Last summer it seemed to be hit or miss with the quality, has then been more or less ironed out? Customer Support: Has customer support been better? My interactions with them was positive, Is trajectory continuing? Thermals: Based on what I've re
Hey guys, with Boxing Day around the corner, I'm planning on upgrading whatever docks and cabling I need to ensure I am getting max refresh rates and speed. Here's my gear: - Alienware 34 Curved Gaming Monitor: AW3418DW (DP1.2, HDMI1.4, WQHD (3440 x 1440) @ 120Hz (overclocked)) - 2017 Razer Blade (1060/4K) I am planning on purchasing the Satechi Aluminum Multi-Port Adapter with this USB-C to DisplayPort cable. Is this the best combination for pumping the best possible speed through the monitor? Re the dock, I'm hoping I don't need to splurge on something like this from OWC!
Aside from the premium cost, is there value with the 4k display? What I mean, is there any benefit to have a 4k display in a 15" form factor? The FHD display consumes less power, and presumably is cooler. it runs at 144Hz and is matte. The 4k display offers a higher resolution and more screen real estate, touch screen. Scaling in windows, its not the best at times, so how pronounced is the issues? In all likelihood you'll have to play games at FHD resolution anyways. Since I don't have a 4k display, will non-games offer a lot of screen real estate if you have to bump up the scaling to 200%? I'm thinking excel is a good example.
I recently installed Fedora 29 on my RBS 2017. This worked just fine. I was able to use an external SD Card to boot using their linux live iso. No issues once I tweaked a few Bios settings. Now I want to go back to Windows 10 and have created a USB (using the same setup) and it wont even recognize the SD card anymore. Not sure what setting I have jacked up in the BIOS but after resetting to defaults, I still cant get a single USB to show up as anything but generic UEFI device. Once I select it it just returns immediately to the boot menu. I think I have just messed up something with the BIOS config but I think I have tried every combination at this point of set up. I have already tried the following: USB Legacy Enabled, Secure Boot Off CSM Enabled with UEFI on for all Policies CSM Enabled with Legacy for all Policies CSM Disabled I am at a point where I am thinking I just need to pull the battery out and try to manually reset the bios. The whole reason I got here was in tryi
I am trying my best to hold out for the new line of RTX laptops to be released by all of the major gaming pc manufacturers so that I can compare specs and prices. However, I also need to be productive and not having a portable powerhouse is really killing my productivity. I almost spent $4429 today on an ASUS G703 with these specs: i9 processor 8950 1080 8gb 64gb ram 3x1tb samsung evo ssd 2tb sshd 4k gsync screen I need a laptop ASAP and had assumed the RTX lappys would be available right after CES. Not one available online yet. I checked the ASUS website and it mentioned a RTX 2080 version of the same lappy so I canceled my order. I play a lot of FPS games so possibly will benefit from holding off in favor of an RTX laptop. My question for you guys is: with a budget of 5 racks, should I go for the Asus G703 with the 1080, hold out for a Asus G703 with 2080 graphics.... Or different brand? MSI? Alienware? Any news of an updated Blade Pro (possibly one with an i9)? SOS.
So i just got my laptop like a week ago. and it makes this weird mechanical ticking noise, I wanted to know if it was normal or what could cause this. Anyone has this issue ? It makes the noise when i barely touch the laptop, or move it around I moved it like that in the video bcz i only had 1 hand. even now typing this it makes that sound lol
Could somebody please specify a specific release date for this year's 4K Blade 15 in the UK because i have been waiting for it and, although Razer said July on their website, the month is almost up and there is no sign of change or release. Pls reply if you know more than I do because it would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
Hello So i got a new Razer Blade Core i7 16GB 256GB SSD 15.6" 60Hz GTX 1060 It came pre installed with windows home, i dont want that so i re installed it with windows 10 pro ( have to be able to connect it to AD ) I tried two diff thunderbolt docks wd15 and elgato thunderbolt 3 dock. Now to the problem: With the elgato thunderbolt dock i cant get the charging to work. This made me go with the dell wd15 dock ( big misstake ) WD15 dock no picture, no lan, no charging. I read that many use the wd15 and it works. So now to my next problem is this a bios promblem i thought? Problem: i cant update bios cause i reinstalled windows 10 pro and now the update tool dosent recon that my laptop is a blade. What to do? And what dock is compatible with this laptop?
Hi everyone just picked up a razer phone 2nd hand for Christmas. It's a good mobile but as with many other people the front grill is weak and has a small split in it. I asked how much would a replacement cost to send out... Razer won't send out any replacement parts, holding you to ransom to send it to their German repair centre for the cost of €148 for a single new grill to be stuck on and the old one peeled off. This is not good value for money at all. Just saying we won't send out parts is ridiculous and unfair on consumers. Why can't a the small grill be sent to make the phone look good again, its not a warranty issue as they won't cover it under warranty. Why can't customers be assisted with these minor issues. €148 for a peel off, stick on is just ridiculous and there seems no good will between Razer and the customer as I'm not alone with this issue. Has anyone got a quick fix or an idea on a alternative speaker grill as their charge is day light robbery. Atb
Hello everyone, one week ago I got the chance to buy the 14 Blade 7700 with the 4K Display for a special price, thanks to black friday. I have the problem that when surfing with firefox, browsing or watching YouTube videos the machine goes hot very quickly, in the 60s° C, so that the fans start to spin every 1-2 minutes, again and again. I remember not having this problem, before I installed all the apps I want/have to use for working with this laptop. I already undervolted the system and set the clock frequency to 2700Mhz. But still it's idling in the 60s° C. Are there any known apps or issues in general, which could cause this problem? Edit: Even posting this thread is getting the fans to spin... Thanks in advance! Don't flame me, but these two laptops are on my short list. Has any of the members here been tempted by the Lenovo? If so what made you decide to get the Razer? I could list the specs where the Razer is better then the Lenovo and vice versa, but I thought if others were tempted by the Lenovo, I'd like to hear, or just opinions on why the Razer may be a better option. For hard core gamers and maybe that's like 99% of the members here, the Razer does make more sense given the superior GPU, but there may be a handful of others like myself :)
Hey all, I'm looking to upgrade my laptop to something that can handle some heavier Machine Learning workloads and light gaming. The Blade '13 and blade 15's look very appealing to me but I'm a bit nervous of the reviews mentioning them running hot, I'm looking forward to getting discrete graphics in a laptop, but I'm concerned that the machine might run too hot for my preferences. Are there official max temperature ratings for the different configurations? e.g. if I was in a near benchmark workload for 3-6 hours how hot would a razer 13 get? would the 15 stay cooler? thanks in advance!
Maybe its too early, but do we know the TDP values for the new GPUs? I've found the mobile version of the 1060 Max-Q as 80 watts, but all I've seen in googling is the 2060 consuming 160 watts, which I have to believe is the desktop variant. I'm trying to do my best to get as much info, to make an educated decision and comparing the 1060 Max-Q vs the 2060, and how that lines up to the 2070 and 2080 which I understand are Max-Q versions.
I bought the HP USB-C dock to connect my RB15 to my screen (over Displayport) and kb/mouse (over USB-A), in an attempt to connect everything with just one USB-C cable (not counting the charger). However, it won't connect to my monitor, and upon Googling the issues I stumbled upon the myriad of troubles people have connecting their monitor over USB-C. I remember that back in the day pretty much everything worked as long as the cable fit the slot, but with USB-C that doesn't appear to hold true anymore. Which docking station can I use with the RB15, if I want to connect my monitor over Displayport and a bunch of other things over USB-A? Has anyone done this before?
So I recently sold my razer stealth 13" (I believe it is the V3 model with i7-7500u), along with my disused core v2. I also sold my 2015 MBP 15". This was Razer stealth #3 for me and the first one that I actually enjoyed. Razer is pretty good if you get lucky. In their place I purchased what appeared to be a fantastic deal: a dell precision 5520, complete with high-end i7 quad core, 4k touchscreen, quadro gpu, 32gb ram, and 1tb ssd, for $1300. It was only a year old and in perfect cosmetic shape. It has also been an unmitigated shitshow disaster. I returned it yesterday for a refund and now have no laptop at all. The good news with the dell: the gorgeous display The bad news with the dell: putting a high-end i7 and quadro GPU into such a slim body means the computer can't do much of *anything* for more than a few minutes before it gets overheated. Play a game? Ferget it, completely. Render a video, even a short one? It starts out fine but quickly slows to below real-time 1080p h264 r
My blade pro runs a GTX 1060 and I use 4K monitor by Acer. My question is, does 4K overwork or strain my laptop in some form? My laptop has been faulty since purchased and it hasn't been a year. There were issues with blue screen crashes, power supply not working, and recently my unit smoked w/ a burning smell. Anyhow, I've RMA my system 3x now and they decided to replace it since it has been defective from the start. My main question is does 4K negatively affect the internal systems (processor, graphics, power supply) on my laptop especially when playing games like BF5. Should I be using a lower end external monitor. I'm also planning on getting core v2 eventually if it means running smoothly on 4K. But for the meantime, should I be worried about using my blade pro with a 4k monitor in gaming? Kind of got traumatized with my RB pro breaking/malfunctioning that makes me thing everything can kill it. lol. Thanks you! Pao
Greetings, First and foremost, this is my first post on here; I'm also not an expert when it comes to computer/laptop products and system so any detailed help would be very much appreciated. I own a RB Pro (2017) - FHD GTX 1060. I'm interested in owning a core v2 to spice up my gaming experience. I'm not really interested in building a desktop. My question is, is there a significant difference between just utilizing my RB pro and bumping it up to 1080Ti? Also, I'm not really knowledgeable about GPU so is there a difference if I simply buy the GPU straight from NVIDIA or are those MSI/ASUS ROG STRIX GPU work for the core v2 as well? If not, can u name a few that I can look into? I do appreciate me some RGB GPU as well haha. Another question...given that I can afford a NVIDIA RTX 2080Ti, would it also work on the core v2? I know it's not a part of the compatibility list that Razer has on its website but just by looking around google, it seemed like it works for other people. Any though
