Hey guys, has anyone run into the BSoD - VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE (nvlddmkm.sys)? I did some reading and it seems to be a common issue with Nvidia drivers on Windows 10.

I've encountered this twice over the last two days. I'm running the latest geforce drivers (430.64).
what's odd is that both times this has happened, all I've been doing is browsing Chrome/watching videos with VLC and using Microsoft Word / OneNote. I don't think any of these would have caused the dedicated graphics to kick in. Everything should have been running on the integrated graphics.
Will you guys upgrade the 17" version too? Because i REALLY like that one.
Is the latest version of Razer Blade with i7 9750h compared to the former one with i7 8750 worth paying some extra money? Are there any other benefits besides a very slighlty different CPU?

Really!? You can’t sue them. If you really understand german you know what this means.

And because “hoch“ german won’t write advanced and base, it’s english my man.

Yeah, you are right. You are definitively the expert. If I would get the same money from Razer like you do, then I would also believe all that shit you write. Do your research and become an adult, fanboy.

Hey Guys!

I got the brand new model with i7. 9. gen CPU. Great device so far!

The only thing I dont get is that the fans spins up as fuck when I'm starting the Razer synapse Software. Even if I set the fan speed manually to "0" in the Synapse Software, it is still cranking up the fans. I have throtteled the cpu to 1ghz with the windows energy settings (for office work). So temperature should really not be an issue - its getting cold on the keyboard :big_grin_:

When I'm closing the Synapse Software and all the Services, the fans getting quiet.

Someone have this issue too?

Just born baby still need to learn a lot things updates will optimize it. I remember my Blade 15 2018 doing this as well a year ago, probably windows and Synapse just meet and start talking each other lol.

Display, 240Hz, Oled, and finally Mercury availability in other regions outside US, like UK and Germany. Unfortunately only 2070maxq 240Hz one. Not quite sure about functional (secondary) keys backlight outside US but on website it’s apparently backlight unlike before on early 2019 rtx model when I’m not wrong.
Impressive
@gesmo

I searched the whole Site of the new razer blade 15" for any information about the keyboard. There is not a single time mentioned that the function keys are also illuminated, in fact there is a picture that shows the keyboard, with description as "profi-modell" where you can see that they are not illuminated.

So you say that you don't want to look for foreign reviews or articles that mentioned, that the function keys arent illuminated. Where exactly did you get the information from, that the keys of the german keyboard are illuminated? As i mentioned, it's not on the website.

There are couple videos directly from the CES 2019 Razer Showroom mentioning the backlight of the secondary F-Keys as on of the best „update“ to last year model besides new displays, GPU etc.
Even videos from first delivered tests mention this feature.

I have not said I do not want to look for foreign reviews. I have just asked, if it is my fault that nobody has tested the german version yet, so I could have a confirmation on this?
Where is the feature mentioned on the US website? It is only titled as „loaded with innovative features“ regarding the keyboard and it is the same translated in german. So in neither of them it is mentioned nor it is written that this feature is limited to the US only.
The premier presentation on the CES 2019 has increased the expectation to all interested customer to this feature to be introduced worldwide.
Wow just wow. Just the best!

No its not. It's your fault to make wrong assumptions when the website shows, that the product doesnt have the feature you would like it to have.

It is clearly shown in the pictures shown on both websites.

Yes it has. But the first reviews have shown that not a single country, except the US, has this feature. And when you check the websites you will find, that they showed nothing else.

Am i sad that Razer doesnt offer this Feature for the german keyboard? Ofc i am. But it's nothing they promised to deliver, it's nothing they have shown for every country. It's not false advertising, it's just only shown in the pictures. You can blame then for that, okay. But when i make a purchase with a price tag that big i inform myself before that. And the lack of illumiated function keys is mentioned on reddit, in this forum and on every not american reviews (and on the razer website).

It's been more than a month since these officially launched. Where's the OLED model Razer?

Indeed. I'm limping along on my busted up MBP, desperate to get a new machine but have been hanging out for the 4K OLED 😢 I'm checking the store daily!

The US site never mentions in text that it is illuminated either. If you look on the UK website there are more pictures showing the whole keyboard being backlit and only one not showing it being fully backlit. It never mentions this is a US only feature.

Probably didn't pass the Burn in tests

Right. The existing of the feature is not mentioned once. Why do you alle expect it to be in every model for every country?

And not a single of these pictures says, that it's the Advanced Version.

When you scroll down to the part where the topic actually is the keyboard, everything is shown correct.

Ofc they could clarify that much better. But they never mention it as a feature, they show it correct in the pictures. And if you are really interested to buy one you can google reviews in like 10 secs where this topic is also mentioned.

What stinks is I waited months for the 2070+4K model to be available and as soon as It was, a 2080+4K OLED was announced. So now I’m waiting for that one. Been waiting to buy a new machine since the end of January. Wonder what they’ll announce as soon as the OLED actually starts shipping lol.

Yes, I've got the same issue BSOD twice today. Removed the latest nvidia driver 430.64 and installed the one from the Windows Update (which is very old 417.71, but seems to be more stable). I'm on Windows 10 1903 (latest May big update).

I'm running Razer Blade 15 Advanced Mid 2019 with 2070. Also Razer still doesn't have any working drivers published for this model on the official site. Contacted support, they said it's work in progress (current downloads are 300-500kb and will not run).

With the current stable drivers version I have a different issue. Display sometimes doesn't turn on after sleep. Laptop wakes up, shows the screen and then it becomes black. I have to make it sleep and wake again to get it working (UPDATE: FN+F4 seems to help as well).

Also Chrome crashes because of the precision scrolling bug when you scroll with 2 fingers, reported here.

I never had a laptop with so many issues from the start.

Did you try dch drivers? Apparently windows 1903 push users to use it if you’ve 1903, I’m not quite sure if it’s related with your issue but usually bsod is driver related things. Try manually download recent drivers and choose dch version beside standard. Yeah I hate update because sometimes it comes not always with improvement but also bugs, especially gpu drivers.

I'll give it a try. I installed via GeForce Experience previously.

Windows update also installs the older version of Intel video driver and there is an update suggested by the Intel Graphics Command Center. If you try to install it, it fails with the message that this driver version was not approved by the vendor. I've forced the install by unpacking the installer and updating the driver via the Device Manager, but the new Intel driver also has issues like the display not turning on after sleep. I found that the older version from the Windows Update works the best.

Yes I’m agree with intel driver one I’ve also issue updating it, forgot on stealth or Blade 15 though, popping up that fails massage but didn’t try further since older iGPU driver is still fine. Nvidia drivers as well last time update was because I wanted to try Ray Tracing on gtx card, if there’s no that feature I would stay with old one. In the past i had some issues by always updating newest one like in gaming crash or games doesn’t load on reading scenes. This’s also why I avoid updating windows at early stage. Seeing first if there’s another issues come with it. Reinstalling and searching drivers is quite wasting time imo. I would be happy if there’s some folder for newer and most optimized drivers on Razer Blade support page beside Original Factory driver one, that’s tested and recommended for that specific model.

well actually i can buy anytime

Yes and here she got a 17067 score on the rtx 2080maxq from razer.
So it seems like 10 % more than a 2070maxq.
Not that much...

On fairly comparison out of box on balanced mode it’s indeed, i saw only 6% from notebookcheck and mobiletech (Note Lisa runs twice firestrike, balanced and gaming mode because she knows well Blade 15, she tweak that as well on 2018 Model, meanwhile I believe notebookcheck only review the unit filing it and send it back again)
Balanced mode no undervolting
Mobiletech 2080

VS
Notebookcheck
With a bit tweaks 2080mq should reach 21,5K graphics and physical all 8750H should on 16,5K as well, those out of box condition are for better cpu temperature condition.
nicksparta
You mean for employed graduates

Then you should works and saving more:smile_:, 2070 one is around average german monthly income, so i don’t see the needs selling my organs, they’re worth a lot more:wink_:.
