sorry just making sure I should download every driver on a fresh install right?
Yes that should get you back up and running properly.
So what are the new results from people that got the rma'ed units?
This video will help you I think.
Pretty much all you need to know as I did this myself. I had no guides but it's pretty straightforward! Great guide!
Thanks as always one thing that happened was that there is no support for the Mamba wireless mouse on synapse 3.0. Surely they will add support for it right?
EDIT: After talking to razer support I guess i'll run Synapse 2 & 3 simultaneous. Hopefully they add the mamba mouse soon!
No one know that, but you can install synapse 2 can’t you, yes it’s annoying to have 2 different similar software on one hardware that’s also why I’m still using Synapse 2 even has Lancehead and firefly that supports beta 3. I hope also they release something new for older systems like they did on Blade 15 to be able to do more costumization like gaming mode on Blade 14 and Fans costumization on Razer Core, but it seems won’t happen from what I saw.
For some reason my initial impression was thinking that you cant use synapse 2 & 3 at the same time.
but thanks Firebat definitely needed that 2 TB. Its coming tomorrow and All I did was install 3 games and took up nearly the whole 250 GB.
At least with the 2TB I can fit my music, games, and work stuff. I wonder how the razer blades fair running virtual machines. With the 2TB and 32 GB of ram theres more than enough to run a virtual machine so I can use it for work only and keep my main OS clean for personal use.
anyone facing slow Wi-Fi speeds? I have to go somewhere with faster Speeds so I can really test but I'll have to see.
Please guys, what the temps are you seeing without undervolting? have you changed the tim for another one or even LM, what is the temp?
I am getting 90c CPU and 74c GPU gaming no undervolting with LM.
Hi @Firebat246 how much do you think the price for 2017 FHD 14 512gb? It’s mint condition, without any scratch or defect, I had €1300 asked, but it feels me too cheap isn’t it? Considering Late 2016 i could sell my 2015 QHD 256 for €1500, and actual purchase price for 2017 was €2.1K. Appreciate any input, thanks.
I sold my 2017 FHD 1tb for 1800USD. Converting your offer to USD gets a little over 1500usd i think. I would say that is a decent price and should accept the offer. Especially looking at sold listing prices on Ebay for same model.
Yes it’s about $1500, okay finger crossed that he’s good serious buyer, so I can also present @Joikansai Blade 15 144Hz 1060 maxq haha
Edit: Sold!! Now confused which one should I take...1060 144Hz, 1070 256gb upgrade to 1 Tb, old style 512gb 1070, or go crazy to 4K one and sell my 4K monitor for 144 g sync hahaha...damn
How can i test my benchmarking?
Only thing issue i faced is my computer freezing after finishing downloading a game and the mouse skipping form random lag when something loads.
Something that didnt happen before i upgraded my ram and SSD. Its not bothering me much but if anyone can suggest a solution that would be dope.
But yeah so happy! Payed an arm and a leg some of my friends are like wtf.
Got my rma replacement monday last week, however I wasn't able to test it out until today because I was out of the country.
I ran a firestrike after updating everything, and my blade was just a little bit better on thermal than my previous one that got rma'd.
Decided to go with a full thermal repaste of both gpu/cpu. I don't want to deal with another RMA. Result are a lot better now. Approx 20C less on CPU and 10C less on GPU.No undervolt, Blade with stock settings. Just pushed the game mode in synapse after updating the laptop after initial setup.
I will run more test tomorrow but here a comparaison with a 3dmark firestrike test:
Not a fan of paying a high premium price on a laptop and having to repaste it out of the box. This job should be done correctly at the factory. Hope Razer will fix this someday, this issue exist since their first blade.
At least, I love it now.
go carzyyy with 4k duddddeeeeee..... you will regret it later if you don't go to 4k....
Yep i like glossy screen better like my old MacBook, Blade 14 2015 and even my super cheap xiaomi Air 13. But I’m not content creator that need 4K on go only pure gaming, at home I prefer playing 4K rpg/open world games on external monitor, it’s darn better imo. FPS/shooting/racing I can play on its internal screen, beside g sync monitor that I saw had bad colors, and 1440p one still not as good as my LG 4K Monitor in term color acuracy, and that 4K HDR 144 monitor will cost insane and even desktop 1080ti won’t handle it good, need next gen gpu or maybe next next gen. Well hard decision but I’ve plenty time since here in EU my ETA for Blade 15 is early next month, remind me last year waiting for 4K Blade 14, but hey we have World Cup this week so for me the time will go faster than last year
I have purchased some thermal pads to help with temperatures and am looking into thermal pasting but am completely inexperienced in this area. Any resources you could recommend to help me learn how to do something like this right?
No ressource unfortunately. The blade 15 is really easy to upgrade. You just need to be really careful with the ribbon cables after you remove the back enclosure. There is 2 ribbons cables, just unplug the bigger one, you don't need to unplug the smaller one. There small socket lever on the large ribbon cable, don't forget to lift it carefully.
Removing the vapor is really simple, there is 3 screws (top left, top right, bottom middle-left, see red dot on pictures) Remove those 3, remove 4 cpu screws, and remove 4 gpu screws. Pull out. That's it.
After removing the vapor, you should have exactly what you see on the picture.
Why manufacturers made us opening the system, isn’t that bad for them...Never opening my Blade I did that only on my Razer Edge it was also after years usage out of warranty time upgrading internal ssd ram cleaning etc, but not on 2 weeks Products. Razer make a decent thermal paste job please or it’ll come high RMA rate...including me if through undervolting and other software tweak it still stays high I’ll probably send it back:/ Because I’ve also policy on my laptop purchase, that keeps it always runs long.
Thanks a ton, that helps a lot! What thermal paste would you recommend?
Separate names with a comma.
