Hey Insiders!

Very glad to announce that the Android Pie 9.0 Update is now rolling out to Razer Phone 1 devices right now!

I personally want to thank you all for being so patient, I know this was a long time coming but thank you for holding on and sticking with the team.

Now go get your pie update!

EDIT: There is currently an issue with the camera in the latest update.

If you have do not disturb switched on the camera will force close. For now please turn those function off until a fix is rolled out.

What is the difference between the ckh and the rzr factory images there doesnt seem to be any documentation on it. I know one is by three uk and the other is the original but what else?
After updated the 9.0 pie , some of the sound is not working, screen sound, charging sound, touch sound is gone, please help
Does anyone have any idea when the UK will get the update. Still waiting for the patch .

Honestly I think the Three logo on boot is the main difference in the build. Three just want to certify their own builds so a bad update doesn't get pushed out to their customers.

Possibly some network code for the Three Network too but that I'm not sure about.
I have found a few bugs in the default Camera app. The flash can only be turned on when I switch to the front facing camera (it will turn the screen white on maximum brightness) but disabled when using the rear camera (which has the real flash LED), the drop down option menu does not work from time to time, and the color seems a bit more off than before the update. Do not disturb mode is not on, and i tried to clear the app's data but it doesn't help. Also, wifi speed randomly drops to a few hundred kbps occasionally, it didn't do that before the update. Can anyone confirm?
24 hours with the upgrade and no problems so far.

Upgraded to Pie a couple of days ago.

Wanted to enable dark mode but I couldn't find "Device theme" under the Display settings section.

Anyone having similar issues? Any possible fix?

I'm in Philippines on Smart and I received the update prompt on my phone without doing anything
Im from the Philippines as well. I didnt update mine yet though. I had some problems last time they put out the Pie update and I had to factory reset my phone 3 times to finally figure out that the game booster was the problem.

Just waiting right now for some updates people post here...
Hey, thanks for getting the update out, it seems to be working well in most places so far.

I've noticed the timers are now difficult to switch between, and the a audio through the front speakers now crackles loudly.

Nah they pulled the update also.

What ProjNemesis had was the first rollout before the update was pulled and he got the fix today like you did with the full update.

Ah I see got me worried for a sec there. Its running smoothly as of now, loving the new design and gesture navigation!
I cant connect to Wifi anymore. Deleted the network on phone, deleted phone on router, restarted both. Nothing helps.

Oh and for me the update worked super-smooth! (but i was a bit late to the party so the gamebooster problem did not apply to me it seems)

Can't launch any games without black screen after updating. Is it just me?

Same here also my chrome/camera and pretty much everything else is crashing

oookay. so pls pls - all I wanna know is, if they actually integrated support for any advanced bluetooth codecs, apart from SBC? :D

can someone that runs the (final) update check this out? thanks a lot in advance!

Uh, I want to know too. Have Hammerhead BT but no codecs on phone :frown_:


Still doesn't save any BT codec changes :slightly_sad:

If I get friday off I might be able to root and try the magisk modules for the codecs but that didnt work either on oreo so....

Same here also my chrome/camera and pretty much everything else is crashing

go to gamebooster and reset it (icon in the top right corner) it should work fine after that.

Anyone with the chrome crashing issue if you can forward me a bug report of the issue I’ll pass it on.

I can’t seem to reproduce the issue on my device so before you do anything check you’re using the stable chrome and have applied all application updates to it.

Make sure the bug happens before you generate a full report and not while it’s generating.
