Can Somebody explain to me why people complain about something free? ok I will never have enough point to get a brand new Keyboard.... but a 30$ voucher is easy to get for most gamers! 30$ off is a nice incentive to buy a huntsman instead of a black widow!

Someone positive, that's something so rare on this topic !
That being said, i prefer the Blackwidow Elite over the Hunstman Elite for the USB and jack passthrough, and you can choose witch switches you want (i saw review telling that they Hunstman keys are quite noisy).

i'm guessing a lot of those complaining were those who mainly benefited from "abusing" the p2p system where they use multi logon or afk to gain the max points per day.

with the current system of diversified points accumulation from various sources, the p2p method of gaining points is no longer viewed viable for getting "easy" points. even other methods are also not easy (but not impossible).

so, many of those must be really pissed

i redeemed a hunstman (not elite) and also a bw tournament edition...prefer my BW te for the smaller footprint.
and maybe also i migrated from a previous BW version. hence, i might be slightly biased towards BW
Its not supposed to be easy its a fidelity plan... but I will do everything I can to get that base station
I'm actually surprised P2P lasted as long as it did. Not saying I didn't like the program. In fact I loved it. My problem is that the numbers never really added up. I know Razer prides itself on going against the grain, but you can only do so much. The sad thing is, most of what people were/are complaining about the program is so much in their favor that it should be screwing Razer over big time. We've seen a statement that such negativity was the reason from P2P's shutter, but I don't feel like that is the whole story. But their were complaints, and I really want to address the complaints as I saw them. The three big complaints seemed to be:

  • Point Collecting
  • Redemption Issues
  • Game Availability

The problem is that the issues people were complaining about are some of the only thing the zsilver program had going in favor of Razer. A freebie program has to minimize the number of redemptions. If it's too lucrative, the company will hemorrhage money and die. Points have to capped to prevent over farming. Allowing people to gain big quickly and catch up to other people just because they are new doesn't help anyone. This seemed more like the newer people complaining. But the fact is a lot of even veterans here also were complaining about low level of points. When Min said during the zSilver release that you could redeem a firefly in a little over a month of play, I thought that was crazy. More so when I realized he wasn't exaggerating. Think about it like this. With the original store prices and point caps, if you maxed everything during a week, Razer was basically giving you a quarter for playing games. Multiply that quarter by the number of people who also did the same. Remember that this program is global, including where people farm for a living. Razer has been giving a lot of money(really credit) away and you're pissed because you think you deserve more?

Redemption issues is a bit more understandable, but that is also because Razer is breaking the freebie rules: You don't do global! Razer doesn't actually have foot holes in all these countries. They can't send stuff out cheaply. Yeah, I know. Razer is a billion dollar company. Do you realize that most companies that have the means to create a cheap global distribution system basically throw billions of dollars away for the hell of it? Yeah, the shipping costs are outrageous. but that because shipping costs are outrageous. I know that some of this outrage comes from not having the info before redemption, which I think a fix should be looked at, but expecting Razer to spend even more on giving you free stuff that is already costing them money is very unreasonable.

Game availability I think is the dumbest thing of all. Like I said, Razer needs to limit the points we can collect for the good of the system. For this to be a workable system, Razer as the very least needs to break even. Razer has to get something from this program. I honestly don't know exactly what is going on behind the scenes. Is the purpose advertising and expecting to growing user base? Is it pushing players to new sponsored games? Is it collecting data? P2P always included a F2P game. No excuses, if you want point play the sponsored game that you don't have to pay money for. Games sucks? It'll change in a month, skip a month of point farming. No, people complained. They wanted to go back to the old system without a sponsored game so they could farm without giving a care. Razer compromises by bringing in some 1 point games, all of high popularity to cover the majority of users. Then it becomes why is the game I'm playing only one point instead of 3? Greedy, just greedy.

Now that I'm done lecturing, here is some ideas I think might aid the P2P program if it returns.

  • zSilver given out needs to drop, and redemption prices need to go up. I know it isn't the popular thing, but it has to be done to limit the number of redemptions.
  • zSilver sinks need to be added. Things like raffles and such. The Razer Arena's voting was a great idea, just the whole thing needed to be better balanced and informed. Digital rewards would also work. Something that doesn't cost Razer anything to send out that people would want. Setting up a small prize package and selling chances for zSilver will drain zSilver while keeping most people happy.
  • Try and ditch the coupon thing for redemption. Don't have people buy a promo code with zSilver only to find out that the shipping is more than going to a brick and mortar. People should loose their zSilver when the purchase goes through, not when you have the chance you might possibly find it in stock before the coupon expires with a questionable amount of shipping they may or may not be able to afford. At the very least be open with the S&H before redemption. Like the fine print listing the current S&H charges for the region. That way people can use their points elsewhere, like on gift cards. (Great thing adding them by the way.)
  • I think the 1 point list is a great idea. Have a couple of featured games based on partnerships and current popularity, with a rotating list of 1 pointers. It's nice you allow voting, but you should actually focus on using those feature positions to build Razer by not only doing the most popular games at the time, but those that are willing to use that featured slot as a promotion for themselves.
  • Better yet, turn that rotating list into a game that is also a zSilver sink. Have insiders vote for the games on the list by becoming patrons of that game, or hiring bandits to attack that game. After a given time, calculate the strongest games and put them on the 1 point list. Cortex has a list of basically every game, so users can just vote on what they want, or who they want to kick off the list.
  • Do away with the daily cap and make it weekly. Seriously, you already have the daily log in bonus. The caps need to be smaller and you need to tone down the urgency. This is P2P, not F2P. No point doing the skinnerbox B.S. if you are not going to make the money but loose it instead. A weekly cap will make it seem more feasible for people to hit it and reduce the number of people who have a live complaining that they can't hit the cap when other people can. And for the record, I'm one of those people who can hit the cap.

Overall I really enjoy the zSilver program and hope something can be done to save it. I'd rather see it continue at a much slower pace than to be sidelined as a failure like Razer normally does when the gamer ADHD kicks in.
Hi Admin,

I'm a normal working staff that spent around 5 hours (Featured games) on each day just to farm the silverz from 9pm till 2am, and i sleep around 2am+. Morning have to wake up at 9am so just few hours of sleeping time. I been doing this for the past 4 months already since the cap for the silver earning is only at 900. I was so surprised y'all increased the amount [Kraken V2 Pro (130,000 - 146,500) for redemption without noticing us. and now this PTP program is going to suspend. based on my calculation the 110,000 silverz is not enough to redeem the razer product and admin do not have a clear path "what will replace for PTP program" for hardcore gamers like us. I felt like i got cheated, and my friends was laughing at me. What will Razer do when u have enough silver to redeem the product? they said. the price for the product would just continue to increase when you almost complete the farming.

What i wish for is simple, i wish i could continue doing the same thing until i could redeem the kraken v2 pro/ kraken 7.1. with the price that i joined in 4months ago, start from basic 2,050 silver until 110,000 silverz have to go with a very consistent lifestyle and i have done that. i even rush back from work just not to miss the 40 login reward.

I hope Razer staff could hear this post and your feedback is appreciated.

Happy Chinese New Year to all the Chinese staffs in Razer Inc.

If you spend 5 hours a day “farming”... why not just do a part time job for a few days and buy the Kraken outright?

I'm having a hard time believing that there was so much negative feedback on the P2P program that it would warrant removing it. I think the program is actually one of the smartest tools Razer has allowed us to use. As a streamer, I had explained to many viewers of the benefits of downloading/using cortex.

What I think may really be going on here (put on your tinfoil hats) is that Razer wasn't expecting to push out the amount of rewards as they have. How can that be limited or possibly even negated? By removing the largest-free way to earn currency and then place an expiration on past/future currency. Will it even be possible to obtain enough zSilver to purchase the mid to high end items with no P2P and an expiration?

For me, it's really not a big deal. I love Razer products and will continue to buy them as I can afford to with real money. But if we're being honest, I have no true incentive to push Cortex to my viewers (I'm a very small streamer anyway) if the P2P is gone.
-The Game Boost?... Great idea, but not really needed. In fact, I've got mine turned off because I don't want to take the time to customize it for my gaming/streaming.
-Ability to purchase games from multiple linked game clients?... again, nice but not really needed. To be fair here, I've never purchased a game through Cortex so I have no idea of the ease/difficulty it is considering it's a system linked with my Steam account.
-GameCaster?... I love you Razer, but seriously leave the streaming software to xSplit and OBS

I just realized how negative this post turned out. I apologize as I prefer to keep things positive, but this is how I feel and I hope Razer proves me wrong and brings back P2P or another program with better deals.

TL;DR
I love you Razer but something else is up. ;-)

Just a heads up, you don't buy games through Cortex. Cortex just shows you the prices on everysite in one place. The only reason to sync it to steam/gamersgate is so your wish lists sync up. Otherwise just add all your games you want in Cortex and wait for deals.

We'd like to thank our fans who have supported the Paid to Play program.

No way! we must thank you Razer for giving us the chance of getting free Razer gear by doing what we like most! Playing our video games! and for that Thank you so much Razer!

part time job bro? my job occupied most of my day time and i have to pay rental and car loan. and taking a family.

🙂
rip figured out about this program a little too late 50k from what i really wanted if only id joined 2 months sooner
Why are you going to suspend the service? Instead of creating a solution to a great idea, you stop the idea.

I know I'm going to get hate for this, but really? Instead of improving the service you stop the service and blame the people that had trouble with the system?

Great. Point fingers. Its not your fault - It's our fault it wasn't working. No Beta testing as we had to beta test it for you.

Don't tell me you are no better than Ubisoft and EA. Great marketing and ideas, bad execution.
I suppose its late to say that I am grateful for the opportunity that Razer has given to me. A few months back I got a Razer firefly and wow is it beautiful, the reason I chose this was that its sold here in NZ for $120 which I cannot afford, without the p2p program I would not have been able to get this so thank you Razer. (sorry for bad grammar)

So I am misunderstanding is this out for a couple of monthes or is this completly ending?
Thank you for whoever answers.

Basically it's ending and probably not going to come back as it will not be a main project to fix it. But if they come up with something, they might bring it back. This only applies to getting zSilver for playing games. Everything else isn't being touched. Other ways of getting zSilver as well as redeeming will be the same. They will also be exploring new programs to earn zSilver as well.
Dont end it pleaseee
I have but one question: after the 1st of Mach, are the redeem costs going to change? 'cause I was aiming for something that is costing 200k zisilver right now and I am near 150k; I am now wondering if it is better to spend them now that the costs are relatively low.
RazerGwynbleidd
In the event that we are unable to provide a satisfactory solution, the program will be suspended indefinitely.

when you say suspended indefinitely does that mean the entire zVault program or just paid to play?
I'm late to the party and this makes me sad. I was hoping to earn a lighted cup holder but don't even see them listed any more. I still love all my Razer products and especially my lighted up battlestation1

I'm hoping when/if it is brought back, it will be even better than it already was.
So I can't play to get it, I can't save it up, I can't compete for it....the only way to consistently get this is to spend money and in the long run it's not worth it. I'm uninstalling, Razer have just continuously trashed everything that was good about zSilver and have release nothing new for it. They always say "We will improve and release" or something but it never happens. Was fun while it lasted but zSilver is dead, I'll spend what I got and then that's it for me. Razer, fix your development cycle.
this will be missed
Thank You Razer...
RIP Cortex

I was wondering in February if we are still able to order peripheral devices like the "Razer Cynosa Chroma" and whether any new Razer products will come around or will it be disbanded completely?
does anybody know the conversion rate is for zGold to zSilver? when purchasing gold or using gold to buy games?
