Razer devices constantly disconnecting and reconnecting

+1 I’ve been running a wired Blackwidow KB, Nari Essentials BT headset for several years and was running synapse v2 for the main reason that it kept RBG set on the devices when you lock the PC - I would prefer to not see rainbow puke. It was 100% rock solid, zero issues.

My non-Razer mouse kicked the bucket and I decided to grab a Basilisk Ultimate as a replacement which isn’t supported by v2, so that forced my hand to reluctantly upgrade to v3 (or see rainbow puke on it constantly). Since then I’ve had constant battles with the headset randomly reconnecting making the booboop sounds which actually transmits into the calls if I’m not muted so everyone else hears this… I work from home so this gets super annoying in daily meetings etc.

When it reconnects I see the same symptoms described previously in this thread, the RBG for the KB and Mouse briefly resets as well which leads me to believe this is related to the software, not the hardware. Like most other people here I’ve tried different USB ports etc etc… it doesn’t help. I also have no issues with any of my other USB devices disconnecting randomly. Plus everything is rock solid connection wise on v2.

Often Synapse v3 just randomly completely crashes during startup and you need to kill and restart the app or it’ll brick on loading one of the devices (usually the mouse) where it’s stuck with the loading icon on that particular device so it’s just puking rainbows, generally only a full PC reboot fixes that.

I’m at the point where if something like SignalRGB allows me to set the RGB (I’m gonna go try this now ) I’m ready to jettison this v3 garbage software into the sun and rid it from my OS forever.

As a follow up to this, since burning Synapse from my PC and installing Signal - all the problems are gone!
I think I’ve had 1 reconnect in several days of usage, and usually I’d have MANY throughout the day. 1 day in particular I had hours of meetings and it was flawless.

Signal also keeps my device RGB settings applied when you lock Windows like Synapse v2 did - which is a mini bonus… so I do believe that Synapse v3 is dead to me now.

Sadly this seems to be par for course for so many IT related companies these days where the physical product is decent but the software development is circling the toilet. Sure the UI might look all fancy but if the product is plagued with problems… it’s just dressed up trash.

I wish everyone else in here luck.

I have been using Tartarus and Razer Naga Pro for semi-hardcore gaming. I have been using Synapse 3. Been using Razer products for almost 5 years (OrbWeaver before Tartarus)

Periodically, Synapse requires an update - and i notice now over the past month since last update - this disconnect issue that folks identify on this thread.

I had been navigating a double-tap issue and control stick issue on the Tartarus - did not get a response from Razer on the issues - and navigated. Now, however, the Tartarus and Naga dropping connectivity randomly has made this solution no longer viable for our guild progression. I’m a healer, and the system has randomly dropped in the middle of important key/raid CD heals - and this has resulted in near-miss wipes. Is this going to be fixed anytime soon?  i can’t imagine folks are using this for competitive game play or semi-hardcore gameplay as it currently stands - it is just not viable to have a system that periodically and randomly disconnects system inputs.

Does Razer monitor/respond to forums? This issue, which seems significant, does not seem to be getting any traction.

Is there a known fix for this. This is CRAZY. I spent 150 dollars on a keyboard that disconnects while Im typing or gaming? I like the keyboard when it works but now I am thinking this is a Company problem and that Razer products should be avoided. Think I’m gonna have to return if I cant find a fix.

I am currently having a problem with disconnecting / instability with my Blackshark V2 headset, began last week. I noticed Razer has been doing a lot of updates lately, but this is really annoying. I’m trying to stream/record some flight simming, and after a few minutes all sound shuts down,, and windows shows no audio or mic devices.

Event viewer shows : AUDIODG.EXE as the faulting application.

I’m going to uninstall everything and reinstall, but this is really annoying.

I’m sure it’s the Razer software, as along with this sometimes the “THX Spatial audio” does not recognize the installed sound card to emulate itself on, and has to be “fiddled with”.

Pretty sad software, that’s for sure. If I confirm this, I’ll post back, but seeing as how OpGamingDK literally just posted about disconnecting hardware, along with others within the past week, there is little doubt in my mind Razer is the problem.

This is 100% due to using Razer wireless mouse and keyboard at the same time. I’m using a black widow keyboard and Ballistix mouse. If I take out the 2.4GHZ USB transmitter for the keyboard and connect it directly to my PC with USB - the issue stops completely. The 2.4GHz transmitters interfere with each other and cause the signal loss. It’s a pain as it’s no longer a wireless keyboard BUT it fixes the issue.

Maybe in your case. But in the cases where we’re talking about Headsets like the Blackshark, there is no transmitter. It’s a USB plugin straight from the headset. And recently it all started when they were doing software updates one right on top of the other.

Thank you for this thread.. I had a fully working setup, then bought a razer mouse and keyboard, installed the software that came with it and now my ps4 controller that was connected via bluetooth randomly disconnects mid-game so to find this thread where their customers have been complaining about this issue for a year is so great because I thought I was going crazy!  So again thank you, now to return this garbage!

So here’s what I did to clean the Synapse bloatware, and reinstall Synapse 3. As background, you can see above I was having issues with the Blackshark V2 headset (wired version with USB plugged Razer “sound card”). I was having the following issues:

  1.  Disconnecting (which we’re all having), and when it disconnects, basically no other sound or mic devices were showing in windows when it happens.
  2. “Popping” sounds, and just generally crappy sounds.
  3.  Inability at time to select certain functions in the Synapse UI.

I followed the steps outlined below, and for 2 days now, and lots of gaming, I have not had a single disconnect, no popping sounds or crappy sound, and no instability at all.

When running the uninstall / clean procedures below, the main thing I found was LOTS of leftover crap (from a normal uninstall) that was left in the various C:\ folders that the instructions tell you to manually check and delete. And I mean lots of folders with lots of junk, that the normal uninstall doesn’t seem to clean out.

Basically I think it boils down to poorly written software and uninstall procedures. Razer seems to put bloatware all over the place, and doesn’t properly remove it. Top that off with a bad website with information all over the place and forums that are also difficult to navigate. AND (this is the big one) poorly written update codes that seem to break everything, which pretty much means every time they update the software I’m going to plan on doing a complete uninstall, clean and fresh reinstall with the updated installer. I’m going to turn off auto update, and from here on out, when I see an update is available, I’m going to wait and see if there is an updated fresh installer (there should be with every update), and do a complete flush and reinstall new. No more “update” process for this kid...

So here are the steps I used

(BEGIN INSTRUCTIONS)

First, do this:

How to re-install the New Razer Synapse, Synapse 3 & 2.0 on Windows

I expanded the Synapse 3 + sign, at the above link and followed the written instructions to remove all the bloatware first. Didn’t watch the video.

Reboot.

Next:

IN ADDITION TO THOSE STEPS, AFTERWARDS I DID THIS:

Ran the software uninstall tool https://rzr.to/Tf53xj  I don’t know that this actually did anything, but couldn’t hurt.

Ran the following windows command. These commands must be run from the powershell / C:/ prompt. In Windows search bar, type “cmd”, when you see  “Command Prompt (app), right click and run as administrator. You will get the black window with the C:/ prompt.

copy/paste these commands in this order:, hitting Enter after pasting the command in the C:/ prompt

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Reboot, then proceed with a fresh install of Synapse 3.

(END INSTRUCTIONS)

So that’s it. Again, knock on wood, I’m trouble free again with the Blackshark headset. I don’t think this is anything to do with whether it’s a plugged or wireless Razer device. Based on people with different hardware, plugged and unplugged, this firmly points at the Synapse software.

Just to add to your concern ladies and gentleman  I would like to say that I as well started to get problems with these constant disconnects.

I have a Razer Basilisk Ultimate (Wireless mouse that has a dongle in that Razer mouse dock Chroma) then I have Razer Blackwidow V3 Pro keyboard( wireless dongle is inside motherboards USB port). And a Razer Nari Ultimate Headset (wireless dongle is inside Razer Base Station V2 Chroma).  I have simultaneously bought these products around 2 years ago.

For 1 full year there were NO problems at all.

Then for the headset “Razer Nari Ultimate” WiFi dongle just “died” , and it was advised in many places on the internet that this indeed happens with these WiFi dongles with this headset , so as suggested on the webs I bought a WiFi dongle Exactly for this device on Aliexpress (around 20$) from the guy who has 5000+ sales of this said dongle and 100% positive reviews , since this guy IMPROVED the dongle thats done by Razer so its NEVER going to burn out/ die.

So for another 1 year till this moment all 3 Razer devices worked well wireless.

But now again, Keyboard “Razer Blackwidow V3 Pro” started to randomly disconnect itself ONLY in games. For example running forward pressing “W” longer than 10 seconds Character suddenly stops I can see keyboard flashing for 1 millisecond and I have to press “WAGAIN so the character can go on ( for the same 10 second or so ) then in freezes again and you repeat. I quickly tested this in Starfield  then Star Citizen and World of Warcraft =  same result. OK Razer - I updated all my APPS / Firmware for all 3 devices /EVERYTHING else is up to date. And it still does that.

So I go see this on forums and HERE we ALL are again. Someone suggests that TURNING OFFRazer Synapse” right before trying to play will work. I tried that - IT WORKS. No any disconnects, no any reconnects. Everything works fine. You can leave all other Razer APPs online if you want just TURN OFF “Razer Synapse”  and your good.

Is this really a quality of your APPs Razer? I will never EVER get another Razer device OR suggest them to my gamer friends who already laugh at me that I got them in a first place.

same issues as all of you here sadly, I have a Naga Hyperspeed x and an Orochi v2 and they are CONSTANTLY disconnecting and reconnecting, no mattr what advice I follow. Fully reinstalled windows and the issue continues to persist.

Absolutely dogwater 2.4Ghz software from Razer, cos they both work fine over Bluetooth. Just upsetting tbh.
Guess I need to find a new pair of mice cos I cannot keep playing like this.

Hey BasedShadyBright_Light, and Deanduffus! Does the issue happen while plugging the devices into another computer? Please try removing all Razer-related files from your PC through the Razer Driver Clean-up tool: https://rzr.to/Tf53xj. Once done, please restart your computer and install the Razer Synapse 3.0 and its supplemental updates. Let me know how it went.

I am having the same issue on my Razer Huntsman V2 Tenkeyless. There are no driver updates on Razer website. I have used on another PC and the only thing different was mother board etc. both are running Windows 11.

I used to defend Razer in the past, but seeing the lack of respect  to the users that clearly have an issue with their hardware is outrageous. Bye Razer, I will never buy a product related to your brand again, and I hope that others follow me.

This has been happening for years across multiple computers and programs, with no resolution or support. The only fix I’ve found is to unplug all Razer products, and throw them in the trash and replace with something else. The company will not provide support or fixes for this, and the new Dragon Age game is literally unplayable with this issue. Razer support consists of “uninstall and reinstall” and ignoring their customers. It’s really unfortunate, the Tartarus is based on a great product, but ever since Razer took over it’s become more trouble than it’s worth. Time to relearn gaming with a keyboard I guess.

I found this through a Google search. I've been having this problem for about a year and a half. Tried both my keyboard and mouse on both PCs and a laptop, no luck. Ran once without Synapse, they ran great but looked terrible. Installed the Razer software and suddenly I've got random disconnects.

Planning to buy some corsair products as im sick of this crap happening. I went down a rabbit hole that consumed about 6 months of my life by troubleshooting USB ports, reinstalling windows and bringing my PC to multiple shops to look at before finally realizing it was my expensive Razer peripherals that was the cause. I am very disappointed but pleased to give another company my business.

I will never buy Razer products again, it's incredible that they make mistakes like that without being able to solve them in so much time.

Damn shame but its only the Razer Chroma V2 that keeps disconnecting for me. I have a Razer mouse and gamepad (both wired) that are ok. Weird. Returning the Chroma!

Hello,

Same problem. This keeps on happening with my Razer Basilisk X Hyperspeed Bluetooth version without RGB Chroma, and I have to wait a few minutes or completely disconnect and forget the device from my laptop and completely uninstall the Razer Synapse app and all data and reinstall it in order for it to work. RAZER we need to get this fixed and a time frame please?!?!?! I want to break this mouse already. WHY IS RAZER NOT RESPONDING it has been like this for a year now.

Carminecampbiz525

Same issue with my razer kraken kitty headphones. I bought a brand-new pc yesterday and my headphones worked fine until synapse installed. They keep disconnecting and reconnecting or my pc doesn’t recognize it at all.

Edit: it’s a vanguard issue for me. uninstalling riot vanguard fixed it.

Ok, I have had this problem with my keyboard disconnecting. I stopped using Razer synapse for some time only opening it a few times a month to see if an update was out that fixed it. And at some point it stopped.

Just found out it had reverted to the standard profile for the keyboard and not the custom I normally used. Tried to switch back to my custom profile and it started disconnecting again.

Managed to switch it back to the standard profile again and it stopped disconnecting again.

So not sure if it help anyone else, but try to see if you can switch the profile you are using and see if it stops it.

Tips which helped me in my case:

  • After windows boot and all other startup modules are loaded - relaunch razer central(synapse)
  • Don’t run multiple games for which you have different profiles at  the same time(it provides usb connect/reconnect even after you close one of the games. Solution above for this case)

Hi.

I also have a similar problem. The mouse randomly disconnects and blocks for a few seconds (both on the cursor and on the RGB) and starts working again and synchronizes the RGB. This only happens with Synapse 3 running and no games open.

Now, i have disabled Chroma Apps and check if it keeps happening again.

My razer hardware:

Razer Ornata Chorma;

Razer Mamba TE;

Razer Firefly;

Razer Goliathus Extended Chroma.

GrayBluecitydirect642

Out of no where this has also happened to me, i have tried every fix in this chain and nothing is working. I have (*Had, as i will be returning this) Viper v2 and its jsut looping the disconect reconnect sounds. Ill be returning it to the store i got it and going back to Corsair.

Same here with a Blackshark Headset. Worked fine for over a year, then about a month ago they started pushing out a bunch of software updates, I don’t think it’s a stretch to say at one point there was 3 in one week. Then the headset sound started popping, disconnecting and reconnecting, losing all sound, etc.

The internet is filled over the years with complaints about Razer software. Seems their QA department isn’t very good. It’s understandable that it can be difficult to upgrade software due to the variety of PC systems people have, but widespread problems like this should no be happening, and it DEFINITELY shouldn’t be the same type of issues ongoing year after year.

I have also seen that the website isn’t maintained very well, there are many ways to link to downloads both on the website and various links in the software, and I noted that some links take you to different versions of software.  That’s sloppy.

I eventually uninstalled everything a couple of weeks ago, but saved those downloads so I could watch to see if there were any update, and I do see that there is a different Synapse software compared to a couple of weeks ago, it was RazerSynapseInstaller_V1.14.0.500, now it’s RazerSynapseInstaller_V1.15.0.504.

So I’m going to try again to see if things have been fixed. I doubt it has.

Also, they should maintain a page that has all previous versions of the software so people can at least roll back to the versions that work. Lots of companies do that. When you don’t do that, you wind up with unhappy customers. So if you’re going to have sloppy updates and sloppy QA, the least you can do is provide previous versions so people can still enjoy your product while you fix your problems.

I have seen some posts from people saying that reinstalling Windows fixed the issue, I don’t think I’m doing that.

I love the Blackshark when it works, it’s a great headset, but I have others here that I can use, and I have no problem throwing them in the trash if they don’t fix the software and fix their overall issues with how they do updates.
