Razer devices constantly disconnecting and reconnecting

My razer devices disconnect and reconnect out of nowhere. When it starts this cycle of disconnects and reconnects, it usually happens for several minutes straight.

This is not a USB or motherboard problem. It happens to my razer keyboard and mouse at the same time. My Chroma lighting on my keyboard will revert to default color design when it disconnects, and then back to my preferred chroma settings when it reconnects. It disconnects and reconnects every couple of seconds until I reboot. Even if I plug my keyboard and mouse into different pots, the problem persists. I've tried plugging my mouse and keyboard into USB ports that I know don't have a problem, because I have other devices plugged into them that stay connected all the time. However, the problem persists no matter which USB ports I use.

My mouse experiences the exact same problem at the same time, which makes it nearly impossible to use, because when it disconnects, I obviously have no input. It reconnects for a second or 2, but then immediately disconnects again.

I have tried to hard-close the synapse software while it's doing this, but it gets stuck. Even if I close the software when its doing this, it continues doing it until I reboot.

I have my synapse drivers up to date. I downloaded and installed the new Viper Ultimate firmware. Everything is up to date.

Currently using Razer Blackwidow Chroma V2 keyboard, and Viper Ultimate Wireless mouse.

(IMPORTANT) The only way I can avoid this problem is to uninstall synapse completely, rendering most of the features obsolete. I want Razer to be aware of this, because these products are expensive, and most of the features of the products are built into a software bundle that does not work for me. There are other threads on this forum about this exact same problem, that were left open with no resolution from 2021. Razer must be aware of this, if they aren't, I will continue posting about it until they are.

A few of these post almost sound like bad soldiering joints or something got bent. I not had many USB connectors fail myself from razer.   But I try on a few different USB connectors and setup warranty claims so they can look into it.  Normally you should see some kind of windows error message being logged helping prove  the problem.   For the firmware updating problem I only see virus scanning software Block it from work or a windows feature not installed. If at all possible try different computer or boot into safe mode  then try installing firmware again..   hopefully this helps.

I am wondering if a USB analyzer gave more insights. Has anyone tried such a software before?

Having the same issue.

My DeathadderV3 (wired) mouse keeps disconnected every 3-4 seconds when I move it while the Synapse 3.0 is on.

It keeps connection when I don’t move it but as soon as I move it, it disconnects again.

Turning Synapse 3.0 off solves it, however it’s very frustrating since I use many other Razer devices need preference setup.

I’ve tried completely uninstalling driver, Synapse and reinstalled it however it replicates the situation.

I’ll see what Razer Support replies to my ticket.

No never needed one normally found problem. Before I used one.  But did help a few cases detect low voltage.  Mostly firmware or adjustments to lift off distance fixed problem.    That or low mouse battery.

I haver a Deathadder V3 wired mouse. The  disconnecting started 2 or 3 weeks ago at bootup but I didn’t notice the suspend mode being a problem until 2 weeks ago. I love the mouse for gaming but this is really annoying. I tried the updated Synapse 3.0 and it did nothing.

For mice I normally check firmware, adjust lift off distance and setup custom mouse pad.  I find this can help specifically the lift off distance is low increasing will help.   A few times motherboards or laptop bios updates helped.

Just checked the firmware and it’s updated already. The mousepad I have not changed at all since I bought the mouse and gamed with it. The bios is updated on the XPS desktoip I have the mouse connected up to.

Did you check lift off distance. Because if you lift it up past that point it stop working.   Should be near custom mouse pad setup.

Same issues with Tartarus v2. Every time i restart my pc it loses all its functions. I get 2-3 pop ups after a restart asking for permission for razer to update. Can’t get that to go away either. Been using their products for as long as i can remember but I am about done. I spend more time trying to get their products working than playing the games I purchased them for.

I almost windows if asking windows would help better with at problem. But what software is blocking it.  Does it just Start working after a few minute?

I’ve been gaming on the same mousepad. The mouse is weird and the connection is lost via USB. I have no idea how it won’t come back. It happened recently only. It never happened when I first got the mouse.

I think I know what the problem is… It’s razer’s mice… I got a new Logitech mice and still use my Razer keyboard and it hasn’t freezed up again yet! *fingers crossed* lol

I only really know of doing factory reset in synapse or scan hard drive for errors with sfc or dism commands then reboot  unless windows has error message.

I tried dism to fix the problem and it didn’t do anything. sfc I doubt will fix the problem. It’s a driver problem.

This is 100% due to using Razer wireless mouse and keyboard at the same time. I’m using a black widow keyboard and Ballistix mouse. If I take out the 2.4GHZ USB transmitter for the keyboard and connect it directly to my PC with USB - the issue stops completely. The 2.4GHz transmitters interfere with each other and cause the signal loss. It’s a pain as it’s no longer a wireless keyboard BUT it fixes the issue.

Afraid not. Issue is happening with a lot of non-wireless tech too. Most recent is my Basilisk v3 after a long time of working no issues... Bam.. synapse 3. Now multiple disconnects, can't update my firmware as it disconnects me (while cabled???) while trying to load it.

As others have said.. this is pretty poor performance from a company that charges a premium for their hardware to have their software be the cause of issues!

Well if really a driver problem you need to report driver version to support and the problem that happening.   See when next driver comes out.

Out of no where this has also happened to me, i have tried every fix in this chain and nothing is working. I have (*Had, as i will be returning this) Viper v2 and its jsut looping the disconect reconnect sounds. Ill be returning it to the store i got it and going back to Corsair.

I updated to Windows 11 (23H2) and decided to try out the new Synapse Beta (4.0.86.38). My Huntsman Elite Keyboard disconnects and reconnects.

Everything works fine when Synapse isn’t running. When I load synapse and don’t have linked games (e.g. I use one default profile), it also appears to be fine.

Once I add a linked game to my Huntsman Elite using an alternate profile (e.g. keyboard mapping); this is where the issue begins. If I switch between windows (e.g. from game window to desktop and back) so that synapse actives the profile for that linked application and goes back to the default profile on the desktop, it disconnects and reconnects my Huntsman Elite Keyboard.

I can reproduce this by swapping rapidly between windows (which swaps rapidly between profiles, e.g. 6-12 times in a couple seconds is enough to trigger this.)

I also have a Deathadder V2 Mouse that swaps profiles depending on what game/window is taking focus. The mouse and profile switching appears to be working fine though, even with rapid switching.

Ok, I have had this problem with my keyboard disconnecting. I stopped using Razer synapse for some time only opening it a few times a month to see if an update was out that fixed it. And at some point it stopped.

Just found out it had reverted to the standard profile for the keyboard and not the custom I normally used. Tried to switch back to my custom profile and it started disconnecting again.

Managed to switch it back to the standard profile again and it stopped disconnecting again.

So not sure if it help anyone else, but try to see if you can switch the profile you are using and see if it stops it.

I have Razer Basilisk RZ01-0233 Gaming Mouse

For the last week I’m having a serious freezing issue only while playing CS2. With Synapse open or closed, it freezes for 1-2 seconds twice or three times during a round and it is frustrating. I tried many ways to solve the issue watching many Youtube videos etc, but no solution. Synapse is the latest version.

Sometimes the freeze is permanent and I have to disconnect and reconnect USB cable to make it work again, during the game...

I’ve been watching for version changes (by downloading the synapse every now and again and saving the downloads and comparing verions). I’m going to try the “new” razer synapse RazerSynapseInstaller_v1.15.1.561. Will report back on my findings after a new, clean install

Firmware updated adjust lift off settings. Anything in windows logs.  Scan windows for virus and error.

Had an issue with Blackwidow V3 disconnecting. at first couldn’t figure out what was causeing it and its really a pain if your playing a game with keybouse and mouse to then just stop moveing out of no where just to get killed by something or someone in game. Came here then seen people shareing there problems and stateing it’s the synapse. So instead of getting rid of it i just closed it in task manager no issues so it deffently is something to do with synapse not sure if it’s codeing or what but this deffently needs a fix Razor. If you want to keep your customers other wise the extra bit and bobs you get us are just pointless if the sofware messes with the product. Not to metion the price we have to pay the get said object. Sorry if that comes off at being an ass not my intetion just saying.

I only have the Razer Basilisk Ultimate mouse as hardware connected to my computer . And yesterday when i was playing Battlefield 2042 i suddenly got this problem too. Loved the mouse up until now. Its now connected threw the usb cable, and that was not my intention when spending the money on this mouse. Have tried ununstalling synapse 3, and also used the driver removal tool, to no success 😞 It just keeps connecting and disconnecting repeatedly. Realy not tempted to buy another wireless mouse from Razer

Hi everyone, very similar issue here: mouse keeps connecting and disconnecting repeteadly but only if the all 3 circumstances are intact:

  • Blade 16 (e.g. Lenovo laptop works)
  • mouse receiver is connected to Thunderbolt 4 Dock
  • Spectrum cycle is turned on Synapse 3

I contacted support. In the beginning they asked meaningful questions on how to reproduce. After they sent the case to their “internal” team, they started to propose dummy solutions like I should do factory reset and wipe all my data to see if it helps or not?!

Any help is highly apretiated.
