Synapse 3 for Mac

Hi all.
This post is to bring the attention of Razer's dev team and Razer's business strategic team to the need to update synapse at Version 3. I'm trying the new Mamba Elite and it's... absolute fantastic, better my old Mamba. I've tried it on my PC and on my Mac and Synapse 3 is necessary on both.
So, please, don't forget Mac community and make an update for Synapse: it's OK also a "light" version of drivers, without Chroma Lab, only for edit bottons on mouse and keyboard, macro and Chroma effects.

This will be nice to have a good present for xmas 🙂

What a fracking driver, I have used nearly 10 different Razer mice, your driver on macOS is a s**t. The new Basilisk not recognized at synapse 2 at all. I swear I will choose logi next time.
Waiting for this for Mac as well...

The new kraken ultimate came out and guess what only works for 3.0 lol so we are all fucked.

But i really wonder..

Does really takes that much time to make a 3.0 for Mac??

Does really costs to Razer too much money to do this??
I'm sure they weigh the economic benefits of doing developing for Mac. Certainly there are Mac gamers that like Razer products, but we are a minority by a considerable margin, to be sure.

The basic hardware itself still works on a Mac, you just don't get the cool control features... so you will still have some people on Mac's that buy the hardware to use at a basic level with hope that one day it will be fully supported.

The question that Razer bean-counters probably ask is: How much money is invested in developing Synapse 3 for Mac versus how much money in additional sales will having that support actually generate?

Well, I have a solution for those of us who need to run Synapse 3 on OSX. It is neither elegant, nor cheap.
It is however, functional.

Parallels for Mac does run the software and works fine.
It has a 14 day free trial if you want to see for yourself.

For those who don't know what Parallels is, a brief description.
Parallels is a virtual machine type software for Mac OS. If you already have a Boot Camp install it can use that, but if you don't, the initial install can download the latest Windows ISO and install a virtual machine instance.

Here is the problem. Parallels, is not free, as of the time I write this, it's like $70 US. You don't really ever have to pay for the Windows license if you aren't doing anything more than installing Synapse 3, but you read the T&C and decide for yourself. That is like another $100 or so USD depending on version.

Like I said. It is not in any way an elegant solution, but, it is functional until Razer releases a Mac version for the software.

But when I connect the keyboard to the virtual machine, it won't work on the MAC. Is there a way to use it on both systems?
I just bought the Mamba hyperflux and firefly pad last Saturday and customer support is completely useless right now so I'm trying to get a refund. That employee has no idea of what's going on, if there will ever be mac support or not and it's been at least 15 months from what I'm reading without any progress in sight so I'm not gonna wait for a miracle. It is literally the first Razor product that I like and bought and I can guarantee that it's also the last.

Now that useless rep sent me to another customer support service for the refund so I'm back in the damn queue and it's gonna take another hour just to argue with someone else who doesn't know what's going on.

Hey guys, just thought I'd post here that I bought a Tartarus V2 to replace my Nostromo, which I use for controlling my DAW, Pro Tools to record, edit and mix music. (this is an untapped market for Razer, and a reason to support Mac OS I think!)

I discovered it will work with Synapse V1.87 for Mac on OSX 10.12.6, with the exception of horizontal scroll options on the scroll wheel. So it's pretty close to working, and I can even configure the colours etc!

One solution for Mac users could be to use ContollerMate from Ordered Bytes. This will allow you to remap everything on almost any keyboard/keypad. It still has an issue with horizontal scrolling from OXS 10.12 onwards, but there are more advanced macro options to get around it.

So for me at present, I'll be using ControllerMate for all key binding/macros and Synapse 1.87 for the lighting stuff (currently loving reactive mode!)

Hope this will help some of you.

Mate you totally lit my life for a reason to buy a Tartarus but now I have to wait for Razer to make some serious Synapse support for Mac (though I really appreciate the tip on ControllerMate + Synapse 1.87 just in case). Sorry Razer you oughta miss some more bucks here by now...
I undestend that Razer didn`t care about the people who use the Mac...
In a future i will must to buy hardware of other vendors, that supportings not only windows users
I just bought a Blackwidow elite keyboard as a Christmas gift for my son. And now I would like to know if it will work on his 2018 iMac at all?

Why would you use Razer products on a Mac to begin with? Macs are not gaming machines and will most likely never be.

Razer products are for more than just games. I use the Nostromo keypad for content creation (illustration, animation, 3D, video production). It's brilliant for productivity (when it works). There is an untapped market of creative pros who'd love Razer products if they worked properly for MacOS.

As for gaming, yeah I'd probably use BootCamp to play games. Or if Parallels' Metal->DirectX implementation works well, that will be cool. But with a game like D:OS2 ported to MacOS, it would be nice not to need any of that.

But to have a beefed up Mac for playing modern games at decent speeds and settings would require forking out A LOT of money. You can build a more powerful Windows rig for far less money.

Although when it comes to operating systems, I actually despise Windows and prefer macOS. As a gamer, I have no choice but to stick to using Windows. However, having a Mac for gaming purposes is just too costly and in the end not worth it IMHO. Build a dedicated Windows rig for gaming and have a MacBook Air for work. This is far more cost effective.
Hi Guys,

any update about Synapse 3 for Mac or still nothin?

At the moment I have a Mamba Elite mouse that works fine for Mac but only with USB Overdrive (http://www.usboverdrive.com/USBOverdrive/News.html ) that help me to configure buttons, but the light remains the same.

unfortunately Razer Synapse 3 does not work for iOS and requires windows 7 or higher.
At this point this issue should be a consumer protection issue. They are highly misleading with their products. There is a huge number of people that purchased these products with the expectation that they would have the same functionality on OSX as others. Waiting a year+ for support is insane.

I rarely advocate for these things, but honestly we should all just start filing complaints with BBB or other orgs.

As a Mac User, I'm in the same boat as everybody here (and the lack of Synapse funcitionality with Catalina is one of the main reasons why I haven't upgraded my system - that and a lot of the other manufacturers of software I use with my MacBook say not to upgrade yet if I still want to use my software).

Be that as it may, I'm going to have to leave this here, from the Insider House Rules thread:

Basically, it is against the Insider House Rules to encourage group action against anybody, including Razer.
@Razer do you not care about mac users at all. I can't configure any of my macros for any of my razer products cause I don't have synapse 3. Get to work.
Anyone have any success using Synapse 3 through Parallels?
I work in production with commercials and just got to try out Black Widow keyboard, fell in love, and bought one for myself, a black widow elite. Now I can't use it proporly, or programme my keys. Sitting on a mac with Mojave, of course, and I'm truly disappointed.
I mean look at this Razer, this thread has 34,000 Views! I won´t update my make so my Razer Hardware won´t stop working. How can you ignore such a big community?
Just got all my croma enabled devices just to find they don't work on Mac. Very disappointed. Synapse 3 for Mac is a must. they supported version 2 why leave Mac out of 3.
Ok so I stared to look for older equipment and purchased a firefly cloth edition and a mamba tournament edition in the hoped of them working with the older synapse 2 as it states in the documentation. My firefly arrived and it is not working, I started to look around and found there are a lot of users with the same issue on Catalina. I have not received the mouse yet but fear I may have similar issues, this is frustrating as razer used to support Mac users and now nothing. Synapse 3 has been in beta for over a year for PC and new products are getting release with Synapse 3 only support so live products with beta software support for PC and no support for MAC. I would really like to get my peripherals to work on my Mac but I may just have to return everything and find another brand.

I have spoken with support and their suggestion was to signup for the newsletter and check Facebook in case razer releases anything for MAC. Seriously that is the solution, its been over a year with no support for Synapse 3 on Mac, its about time something came out.

Is there anyone out there from Raser who can let us know if this is ever going to happen? If not just let us know and we will move on to another brand.
Still haven't added Synapse 3 on Mac. How the fu** am I supposed to change my mouse settings dude? Ever thought of that?

I have been using Razer products for a very long time. Build was always great. They worked very nice.
But like all companies their software just...well lets say, it doesn't work as it should. Same goes for Logitech: great keyboards,... but their software/drivers were always nightmare.

Once I switched to Mac I still continued to use Razer stuff, but less and less. Reason was simple: their software was just not working (Synapse 2). Some of you still remember that it was once possible to buy Razer keyboards with Mac layout. And suddenly they just dropped that option. To me it was very clear that they will not support Mac system in near future. Which, to be honest, is really disappointing.

So I guess we will have to buy other brands from now on to use it on our Macs since Razer has shifted their interest to windows and consoles. It makes sense. Mac is not a gaming platform. It will never be.

But I buy Razer stuff not only to use it as a gaming gear, I like their build, quality and usability.
Only their support and software, well I can't say that they're great.

And I think we probably will not see (in near future at least) Synapse 3 for Mac.
