Synapse is broken since the latest update

I am experiencing some problems with Razer Synapse since the latest update I installed today. See bullet points below:

  • Razer splash screen is showing as expected when I start my PC
  • When I mouseover the green Synapse logo in the taskbar, the logo disappears (seems that the app is crashing upon mouseover)
  • Razer Synapse 3, Razer Synapse Service, and Razer Synapse Servoce Process are all showing up as running in task manager even after mouseover in previous point
  • When I attempt to launch Synapse manually, the taskbar icon re-appears, only to disappear again upon mouseover. RInse and repeat.
  • My mouse macros ARE working, even after taskbar mouseover
  • My keyboard macros ARE NOT working, both before and after taskbar mouseover

any reliable solution yet??? wanna change to logitech soon…. 

I’m having something of the opposite issue than most. Instead of the Razer software not working, the software is preventing Stellaris from launching. If I have to choose between a game and hardware, the game wins.

  • I have the exact issue, as you all have, well, the issue is basicly that im having:

    - Razer central broken splash launcher (The RGB/Colors on the edges freezes, and mostly dont appear).
    - Razer central sometimes constantly annoys me when im focused on some other windows, and it keeps showing its startup splash, but it freezes mid splash, so it closes itself afterwards.
    - Razer might be completely broken, even if i try removing it manualy and reinstalling it with the installer, it just wont fix itself.

    - The only solution is to close all services and tasks of it and call it a day per windows startup. you cannot access all Razer apps since they softlocked (permanently probably in this case).

Got the same problem :(

Do we have any answer about this issue? Kind lame it’s going on for almost 3 days now lol..

Yes, I’m angry….

Cannot even open synapse 3 to check for updates etc. Cannot open it at ALL. If you launch as admin, and follow the steps the razer HOW TO video provides. Razer just disappears from the tray when you mouse over the icon. This is ridiculous lol.

SOLUTION

 

it is a temporary fix but…

1 find someone who has not had the forced update

2 on that computer, copy the “Razer” folder in “C:\Program Files (x86)”

3 on your computer open the task, details tab and kill all razer apps, then go to the Service tab and make sure all razer services are stopped, if not force them to by right clicking and stop them

4 replace your C:\Program Files (x86) Razer folder with the one you took from the computer it was working on.

5 IF when you run synapse again (i dont have other apps but i think its the same) and it starts to update immediately, go back to step one

6 ince you did it all again, BEFORE you start razer synapse make sure to turn off any internet access to your pc, either unplug it, disable the net adapted for a moment or whatever you can do with your setup, THEN start synapse once you got no connection.

7 after a while you will be able to reconect your computer to internet and the update shouldnt start, so you can login and sync razer apps, BUT it will force update once you restart pc, soooo… yeah leave it on for a while?

 

 

at the time of this post the version that causes issues is V1.12.0.385, so maybe check manually every day or so if a new one has been deployed at https://www.razer.com/synapse-3 , just download it again or what have you.

Hi everyone, your boy Roanok here! I SOLVE the problem. 

What it woks for me was:

1- Find a friend who the synapse 3 works on his computer

2- ask him to copy the carpet “Razer Services” and send it to you

3- Replace the carpet sended for the one that you have.

Thank you razer Support for nothing, I dont know what the problem actually was but one thing is clear. Ther issue is on one file on the carpet call : “ Razer Services”

Same issue been trying all fixes for the pastt 13 hrs. in total. waiting on a razer update as of 12:14 pm 3-2-23 EST

I sent them my synapse log, they ask me to log in with their test email to see if that works…. How am I supposed to log into Razer which is constantly crashing and not loading…. I don’t understand their thought process on this. Like why even suggest anything and suggest its a different update like windows, when everyone is having the same issue instantly after their razer update.

I've reached out to razer support on Twitter, and they emailed me numerous ways to try and fix the problem. But even after I've tried most of the solutions it still doesn't work.

If something Razer should be proud of, is the neglect for quality or faster updates, we just come from an  unresolved WMI Provider Host issue, and now this … 

TBH I’m looking for a third party solution to get rid of any razer software and avoid future Razer products

At this point it feels like Razer Synapse is the best advertisement Logitech could ever ask for.

Same. I was trying to fix this for hours until I found this thread. Has anyone tried to install an old version? I'll try and see if that helps. Only issue is to stop it from auto updating 

I already tried it. No working still 

Synapse 3 crashes on start, no gui shown, its services seems to be running, but no gfx shell.

I have tried all advises from Razer’s support page, link below, but nothing helps:

Complete uninstall with removing all traces of Razer’s software, reboot, fresh install leads to the same result.

Obviously, until Razer’s fix for Synapse 3 software, it won’t work with any life-hacks or tuning of Windows.
