Synapse is broken since the latest update

I am experiencing some problems with Razer Synapse since the latest update I installed today. See bullet points below:

  • Razer splash screen is showing as expected when I start my PC
  • When I mouseover the green Synapse logo in the taskbar, the logo disappears (seems that the app is crashing upon mouseover)
  • Razer Synapse 3, Razer Synapse Service, and Razer Synapse Servoce Process are all showing up as running in task manager even after mouseover in previous point
  • When I attempt to launch Synapse manually, the taskbar icon re-appears, only to disappear again upon mouseover. RInse and repeat.
  • My mouse macros ARE working, even after taskbar mouseover
  • My keyboard macros ARE NOT working, both before and after taskbar mouseover

It is 100%  I have the exact same problems happening.  Turned pc on,  synapse has update.  Update finishes. Then can’t open it at all. Synapse processes are running in task manager but disappears from system tray everytime I try.  Been trying to find a solution or fix for hours.  On my second pc that’s never had synapse installed, It installed with no problems and runs fine.  I need the software to work on my other pc tho…so idk what’s happening.

Oh my god, I have been trying to fix this for the past 7 hours without luck. THANK YOU for posting this so I could see it was an issue with an update. 

 

I got the new Deathadder V3 Faker edition today, plugged it in and Synapse did the little update thing, then ever since I restarted I’ve been having the same issue. I have re-installed windows 2x both once with synapse installed and once without (Keep apps and data re-install), and have removed every single trace of Razer from the registry and everything.

In all my hours looking now, the only thing I can see, is that the Razer Central.exe, not the service but the exe itself closes instantly after the splash screen. I tried installing Cortex in a desperate attempt to get Razer Central running, but it produces the same bug. I think they F’D the Razer Central somehow.

It started today for me.  Booted up the pc.  Synapse had and update. Once the update completed I could never get it to open.  Disappearing from system tray on app startup all day

Issue started for me after downloading & installing the update yesterday. The icon appears in the system tray upon ysstem startup, but disappears as soon as I mouseover it.

Strangest part is the fact that my mouse macros are working but my keyboard macros are not!

Yup.  It renders my dual pc’s useless right now.   The pc I use my razor audio mixer on to split audio between both pc’s is the one that’s broken.  Without being able to open synapse on my recording pc I can’t hear the audio from my gaming pc… the crazy thing is my gaming pc that’s never had synapse 3 on it downloaded it and is running it fine today.  But not the other

Tried doing a clean install with an earlier version of synapse. It’s working so far, but for some reason my Basilisk and Barracuda isn’t appearing in my list of devices. Though they’re still functional. Seems like a good temporary fix while Razer hopefully sorts this out.

After installation and launching, you’ll need to disable the automatic update by right-clicking the synapse icon and go into Settings.

Hello everyone. I have been having this exact issue for a day now. Things are escalated to the “higher” tech team but im still trying to see what I can do. I wanted to share an update with my issue. I tried installing everything the installer wanted. the extra HUE light stuff, the alexa, the ring light and streamer bloat crap softwares. When I did this I was able to get a log in screen to show again in synapse. I then noticed that the program would attempt to start over and over. making new synapse icons in my tray. So in other words things got worse.

Look see!!!! It pops up every now and then, but it still shuts down on me. This started happening a couple of hours ago. When it pops up it still has my profiles and settings. and my devices have the lighting that I set up for them.  but when it closes they go back to the color changing mode…..

Your lucky it’s even opening.  Mine still just crashes during the splash screen everytime.  I can’t even log in after a fresh reinstall. The app just won’t open 

Exact same issue for me after Synapse updated earlier.  Receive Razer Splash screen and then icon disappears from system tray.  Razer can we get a response here!!

We really need an official response from Razer on this. Does anyone know if they actually keep track of these forums? Or is there any way to contact them?

Also, it seems unlikely that they could simply push a new update to fix it seeing as we can’t actually download it through the system tray icon as it disappears on mouseover!

Why are they sending an update without testing?

I sent them my synapse log, they ask me to log in with their test email to see if that works…. How am I supposed to log into Razer which is constantly crashing and not loading…. I don’t understand their thought process on this. Like why even suggest anything and suggest its a different update like windows, when everyone is having the same issue instantly after their razer update.

At this point it feels like Razer Synapse is the best advertisement Logitech could ever ask for.

I 100% feel you on that. Mine is also useless because of this... This is really annoying. I can’t tell if my mouse, keyboard, or headsaet is close to dying or no either….

The same thing, I tormented myself for 10 hours, deleted the program, cleaned the registry, reflashed the mouse, but did not achieve the result.😵

i tried uninstalling it, update firmware everything i googled online. still failed… i just bought a ornata v3 for kb macro….. 2 days ago…. FML

Does anyone have any news if Razer even knows this is a thing? or if they already said anthing about it?

I’m guessing when ever they release new version installer on the website for synapse 3 will be our best bet.  I assume hotfix won’t fix this.  The sad part is who knows how long it will take.  It’s actually bs
