Blade 17 - external monitor via USB-C/Thunderbolt 4 not working
I just used the Razer BIOS updater and updated the EC as well.
Model: (*Omitted)
Any help is greatly appreciated!

I have created a support ticket for this ( *Omitted). I was not helped either and was redirected to another team that will eventually get back to me. I will probably return my Razer if a solution is not found here immediately.
I've checked your case. The investigation is still ongoing, and the team is coordinating with our Internal Team/devs regarding the laptop's behavior. I've cascaded this thread to the team. Hopefully, a resolution will be available as soon.

How long ago did you start the support ticket? I submitted mine yesterday and have yet to hear back from anyone. I got my blade 17 through Amazon so if I don't hear anything by the end of today I am just going to return it. Costs too much $$ to have quality control/support issues like this
Can you send me your case number so I can tap our Support Team?

I've got the same problem. Even with the Razer dock it doesn't want to work. every other PC or laptop will display an output.
Got the Razer Blade 17 (2022) 3070 Ti, 12800H
Please submit a case too so we can collate all the users that are experiencing this USB-C port concern.
So I don't know if it is a razer exclusive problem or a Nvidia thing. But hopefully it will get fixed asap.
P.S.
I'm using the Razer Thunderbolt 4 Dock with my RZ09-0423x NED3-R3E1
on the Alienware AW3423DW. happily I am able to use a Thunderbolt 3 to DisplayPort 1.4 cable.

I just tried something that worked for me (at least for now). I downgraded my nvidia driver to this: GeForce Game Ready Driver | 512.15 | Windows 10 64-bit, Windows 11 | NVIDIA. It's a few months old. And now the connection seems to be working fine.

**FIXED..!!**
Spoke to the lovely chap at Razer Store in London, and he suggested a BIOS update for my 2021 Blade 17 Pro, and I updated from BIOS version 103 to 106 and it worked..!!
So, I'm running latest Nvidia drivers, latest Thunderbolt 4 drivers, latest Synapse and this BIOS update was the final key to the mystery :))
USB-C Touchscreen now works on Thunderbolt 4 port with a single cable.

Got it working!!! The support rep told me to uninstall my latest drivers. And roll back to version 512.95 or lower. I am asking him when it is OK to update my drivers for game ready drivers and such. Will let you know when he replies! =)

Did you see the post on page 2 of this thread? One user said they updated their bios and monitors work again with latest drivers. Anyone know if the BIOS update solution works with the Blade 15?
I saw everyone's confirmation, and if you are referring to BudgeMagraw's post, that's right, there's a BIOS update for the Razer Blade 17 2022 (1.06) intended to fix different frequencies shown in the OS compared to the CPU spec and improve the CPU's performance. I added my latest post to let everyone know the progress of the investigation. The team is still working with our devs and accepting feedback/reports from our users since this can help Razer come up with a resolution to any reported issues from the community.

I can confirm. Had the same issue wit my RAZER Blade15 Adv 2021. I downgraded the graphics drivers to 512.95 as some did, didnt work for me. Then proceded to update the BIOS form 1.06 to 2.02, couple of restars and works like a charm. Perfomed an update to the graphics drivers I downgraded before, still working (drivers version 516.94). Hope this helps!!

I also confirm my Blade 15 2022 (RZ09-0421x) got the same problem after updating the graphics driver. Only by reinstalling 512.95 can the laptop return to normal.
Did anybody try the latest driver 516.94?
I also have an RZ09-0421x with the same issue. Looks like this problem still exists in 516.94 according to page 13 of the release notes:
At least with the release notes we can track the issue with each driver release without resorting to testing it.
I can unequivocally verify that reverting to version 512.95 or any prior iteration, indeed RESOLVES the issue! The enigma remains, whether this enigma pertains solely to Razer's realm or is a byproduct of Nvidia's domain. Nevertheless, one can only hope for a swift rectification.
P.S. Harnessing the prowess of the Razer Thunderbolt 4 Dock in harmony with my esteemed RZ09-0423x NED3-R3E1, seamlessly navigating the intricate dimensions of the Alienware AW3423DW, I find myself in a state of sheer contentment online2yu. Fortuitously, the utilization of a Thunderbolt 3 to DisplayPort 1.4 cable augments this symphony of technological excellence.

Is there any progress in addressing this issue, for Nvidia drivers past 512.15?
It has been well over a month. I do not want to be stuck to an older version of the display drivers indefinitely.
I understand you want to operate your machine while using its latest firmware version. However, the issue is still under investigation. Should our devs finalize the fix, they will either post on the laptop affect laptop's support page or send it through Razer Synapse updates. We appreciate everyone's cooperation.

Just purchased new Razer Blade 14. I use a razer docking. Connecting to an external monitor with a thunderbolt cable. From either of the Thunderbolt 4 (USB-C) ports. No signal detected from monitor. works perfectly fine if I use a dongle to covert the thunderbolt to HDMI on the razer docking.
I rolled back the Navidia driver per suggestion. did nothing.
If you have nvidia 30 serie card uninstall graphic driver but before download from Google nvidia driver 512.15 if you go above extremalnie monitor will not work.
FlyingFoxFeiFor me this driver fix the issue. You can check if there is any bios update for your laptop. You can also try if dont mistake driver uninstaller when you remove driver gór graphic card disable wifi or disconnect ethernet cable uninstall driver and Run this app it will remove registry enteries and filles that was not removed then restart laptop but dont turn on wifi or ethernet cable install driver 512.15 or lower restart again then check if external monitor works.
Yep. did that. not working...
FlyingFoxFei
Thank you! will try. two questions - 1) what do you mean by don't mistake driver uninstaller? and 2) what is the app to remove registry entries?
IPhone dictionery is quite agressive this is why some words are incorrect. Back to questions dont enable internet connection becose before you will install new driver Windows update will install it before you for me it want to install 516.2x on this version monitor for sure will not work. On second question try driver sweeper it is simple and free.
For my Blade 17 (22) it worked out in the strange way:
I had the same issue. Also I tried to change GPU mode to “Dedicated GPU only”. After restarting the system, GPU mode remains “NVIDIA Optimus”, but for some reason I can now use my external monitor with USB-C.
Is there an driver update past 1.07 for RZ09-0423x that exists?
I use this laptop mainly for game development, and I can confirm that the Unreal 5.03 Editor crashes using the Nvidia driver 512.15, but the application runs fine with 516.25 or higher (but then my USB-C display ports stop working). The editor gives a warning on start-up if your driver is not 516.25 or above. BTW trying to drop down to version 5.02 of Unreal is not an option (you would have to build it from source, and its just not supported).
I have also been looking at the forums of other retailer's that sell laptops with similar specs (12th gen intel, and NVidia 30xx RTX), some had a similar issue with their USB-C -> Display ports not working after the 512.15, but some were able to fix this with a laptop BIOS/firmware update.
I am hoping that Razer will continue to work with NVidia on trying to solve this problem, ether in the form of NVidia releasing a new driver or Razer or maybe both, that fix this.
Has anyone been able to get the display ports working on a NVidia driver 516.25 or higher?
I heard something about making sure your USB-C ->Displayport cables are rated for Thunderbolt 4.
Keen to not fork off onto some weird BIOS branch only to be saddled with a choice to loose the setup (as advertised mind you and therefore grounds for compensation / redress at the expense of the supplier).
This is probably why they're being cagey. Since they have offered a device that can't provide the advertised feature. The Sqeaky wheel gets the oil - amazed how many people are having the same issue and no addressed solution.
The Support email I got doesn't help either.
Just chiming in to let you know that rolling back the Nvidia drivers to 512.95 fixed EVERYTHING for me:
- Random stuttering on external monitors (via USB-C) is gone
- Right USB-C working properly
- Left USB-C now works at full capacity (via Thunderbolt 4 Dock)
- External monitors no longer stuck/downgraded at 4K@30hz
- Active Thunderbolt 4 cables now work as intended (full bandwidth instead of 4K@30hz)
Here's hoping Razer releases a proper fix for this one

Edit Sep 28: Game Ready Driver 517.48 finally fixed this issue!
Another edit: Dual external monitor setup is not possible for some reason. Only one external monitor supported. What the hell is going on.

Nothing is solved or fixed. GameReady drivers are fiffrent then Studio this are two diffrent things. Studio drivers are forwork graphic or video production in short and focus on this things. Gameready drivers are more universal and focus more on games and performance and works perfect also for video or photo. I think this will help you understand the diffrence:
What is the difference between Nvidia studio and game ready driver?

If you are a gamer who prioritizes day of launch support for the latest games, patches, and DLCs, choose Game Ready Drivers. If you are a content creator who prioritizes reliability for creative workflows including video editing, animation, photography, graphic design, and livestreaming, choose Studio Drivers.
Do game Ready drivers actually improve performance?

In short, Game Ready Drivers grant the game engine boosted performance by allowing portions of it to access the operating system's kernel, giving it more direct access to the GPU. This can boost framerate, reduce latency, offer more consistent minimum performance, and enhance stability
p.s Today get new Windows 11 22H2 update. Windows now force reinstall the graphic driver to 516.54 and if you want dowgrade it again it's a pain in the a... So if someone will update the system remember to reinstall the drivers becose external monitor will dont work.

So you're saying the new Game Ready Drivers don't address the issue? This sucks, I've been stuck on these old drivers for months on my brand new machine. Complete oversight, and it's clear they aren't fixing it anytime soon as razer support hasn't been in this thread in quite some time. I do like your idea about new 40 series laptops though:big_grin_:, maybe that would make up for months of inexcusable "support" if you could call it that.
You pay a premium for Razer's quality and this is how you're treated. It feels like they know they already have the sale and no longer need to worry about us. New games coming out over the next few weeks and man oh man am I excited for tons of crashes due to my outdated drivers!
Seriously a bad look Razer.
My 4,300 Euro expensive Razer Notebook is a gaming monster so i need the latest(!!) Game Ready drivers. So, hey whats up, thats not a 800 Euro no name chinese Notebook.
Razer support should urgently clarify wheter this is a failure of nvidia or Razer itself. If its the latter then i will never buy a Razer Notebook again. I will sell it and switch to MSI, Lenovo or Alienware.
Either way, its embarrassing for a premium manufacturer. At least the purchase price was premium.
