It's just a little bit bigger than my 15" Macbook Pro retina from 2012. The performance boost would be incredible, this or the 15" model will be my next device.

Glad to see an update, but there is very little differentiation between this and the Advanced 15" apart from the obvious increase in screen size. The top end 15" uses the same CPU (9750H) and same Nvidia Max-Q GPU options. The trade off is the Blade Pro is about 1lb. heaver and marginally larger than the Advanced 15 in terms of dimensions. The major difference is that you get an extra NVMe slot and ethernet, and a UHS-III SD Card reader on the Blade Pro.
Clearly, what Razer did here was basically take a Advanced 15 configuration, add a larger screen and a few extra ports. Heck, even the power supply is the same, unlike past Blade Pro machines.
I'm not saying the Blade Pro is underwhelming, it just seems to me that it only makes sense over a 15 Advanced if you REALLY need a 17" screen, or absolutely need the ports or expanded NVMe capacity.
Otherwise, the Advanced 15 is the only configuration with OLED, 4K, touchscreen, and 240Hz options. I have a 8th Gen Blade Advanced 15 and I'm SERIOUSLY considering getting the 9th Gen OLED version when it is available. I thought 1920x1080 would be limiting for the work I do, but it has proven not to be a problem, but if I can get OLED and a higher resolution...well count me in.

PreystationI would not feel burnt by the Blade Pro, it was long overdue for a refresh so you had to know it was coming sooner rather than later. Now the quick refresh of the 15 Advanced is another story. I have the same machine as you and the 9750H is only a 6-8% improvement over the 8750H. These are both mid-range CPUs and you would be hard pressed to really notice the differences. That said, I more than likely will move to the OLED Advanced 15 because the software I run can and will benefit from even a modest performance gain.

TrickyGizmoIt seems like you mostly addressed your own concern, but want to add that I expect that the Pro's 2080 is going to outperform the one in the Blade 15 by a good margin. Remember, the way these new GPU's are being implemented in laptops, their performance is basically being left up to manufacturers to determine depending on the laptop's cooling solution. So an RTX 2080 in a slim 15" laptop will perform very differently from an RTX 2080 in a big 17" laptop. *also it's not an extra NVMe, it's an extra M.2. **and don't forget the additional USB-C port ***and hopefully the speakers are a bit beefier
...there is very little differentiation between this and the Advanced 15" apart from... ...the obvious increase in screen size. ...you get an extra NVMe slot* ...ethernet, ...a UHS-III SD Card reader

With a screen size so big, it really needs a higher resolution screen. The tech exists to go 1440P 144Hz, so if that could be integrated, you would have my attention. Until then, well...

Yeah I hope there’s 1440p 144Hz or even 4K 144Hz, lets blame AUO, BOE, LG etc for being too Lazy making things:smile_:

In general this looks great, but why was DisplayPort dropped compared to the 15? HDMI 2.0b is great and all, but there's no variable refresh rate output at all on the new Pro, which from a gaming perspective seems like a serious oversight. It seems like every Pro released so far has some "almost there" hang-up that has me saying "maybe next refresh". At least the 15 is literally as good as it gets right now, hopefully they can get the next Pro, or heaven forbid release of Project Valerie, to come as close to perfection as the 15 Advanced.

Cobalt_WraithPCworld mentioned that TB3 on Blade Pro 2019 connected directly to dgpu unlike blade 15 which is to iGPU (cpu) and TB3/usb c basically display port so theoretically it can run g sync, let’s see the real laptop review.

JoikansaiBlame Apple. If they had a 17" model, then panel manufacturers would scramble to produce more higher resolution 17" panels. Unfortunately, they don't. Dell has (and had for a while) 4K panels (from Sharp, I think) on their Precision series 17" monsters. I've been meaning to buy a Blade for years now, but Razer *always* manages to omit _some_ detail. For a long time, it was non-user-upgradeable soldered memory. Now, it's super low resolution screens. I will not buy a 17" laptop with an FHD panel in 2019. Granted, if I was more serious about high-FPS gaming, I'd probably prefer 120/144/240Hz refresh over resolution. BUT, I'm not. I want 4K and preferably OLED, and don't care much about refresh and FPS. Too bad. For me, that is...
