Anyone frustrated with their trackpad/touchpad?

Mine seems ok , but sometimes stops responding every now and then after resuming the laptop.

Hm, would you recommend the Core V2 for a productivity/gaming setup? I'm trying to justify it for my blade stealth because I do some machine learning programming, but $500 for the V2 is a bit much, and I do want the extra USB inputs. And the most intense game I ever really play is CS or Rocket league.

At this point it's hard to justify the price compared to other units. There are alot of them now and most are $300. I'll provide a link so you can look at the most common ones and see it you want something other than the Razer Core. The cheapest ones like the Akitio Node and the Sonnet seem to have some compatibility issues. The Hp Omen eGpu seems to be the best one next to the Razer Core.

Just adding from what @TK-1987 mentioned, you should be carefully choosing egpu outside Razer Brand due compatibility, some are them couldn’t charge the stealth some of them has USB ports unstable connection etc, the important one if you’re looking some that could charge the stealth it should be one that has at least 65 Watt power delivery, bigger is better, you can check this for its specifications. Core V2 is the only enclosure that has separate usb controller to keep connection not disturbing TB3 bandwidth on gpu load, that is also one that make it more expensive than other enclosure, other one is cool Synapse RGB :big_grin_: And one of best looking enclosure out there for the rest price tag gap than other;) Though for works like programming and rendering it may be loud for some users that want quite environment, it’s from psu fans which is quite hard to exchange your self unlike core X that use normal Fan.

Hi @TK-1987 and other owners as well, do you guys have any issues mentioned here?

Guys, is it safe to use the Stealth on your lap? I know it's usually not advised because the heat can damage your dong and your ability to father children, but when it's on battery, with minimum power settings (low brightness, battery saver from Windows & Synapse, etc.) and just opening chrome tabs, it stays very cool.
Is it still not advised? What do you think?

I had #2 "Audible coil whine or electronic noise when in a silent room or when placing an ear near the keyboard keys", however mine was worse than described here and warranted a return. I can confirm #1 and #4 were not an issue, but #3 I did not observe playing casual games. I did not play extremely taxing games.
Looks very cool~~~

Yes I have the electrical noise. Its something that has been on my old razer blade 14 also. It's one of the fans. The machine is quiet and has no fan spin during normal use. I am debating returning it unfortunately. It actually seems like it's getting louder.

I don’t get about electrical noise, do you mean high pitch sound? Some people get it wrong with coil whine. My old Blade 14 and current Blade 15 has it too sometimes on max fans RPM, old Blade 14 i figured it by undervolting and limiting Turbo boost to keep cool cpu that effect Fans behavior (no users option on Synapse 2 adjusting Fans speed), and Blade 15 by not using max 5000rpm. This is due thin cassis that make the sound and happen as well in other thin light gaming laptops brands. Using core and let the cpu not bound with dgpu even made it gone.
You know it just hit me, but does anyone else think the Blade Stealth is on sale to make way for a refreshed model with a 10000 series cpu and a mx250? That would be welcome. Although I'd like to see a mobile ryzen model with Vega graphics. The timing on the reduced price seems to good to be a coincidence.:wink_:

No it's not high pitched. Have you ever heard a buzzing noise coming from a power outlet or something? It might be coil whine. But, I've never been able to watch a video and hear it as there is too much background noise.

I see that’s probably similar coil whine, the buzzing sound on Blade 15 ac adapter on early batch, can’t confirm that though since fortunately mine comes with none that issue, but heard some users cat or dog, forgot which one, is pretty frightened of it;)

In computex intel showed this stealth with that cpu engineering model, it reported better than ryzen cpu with Vega. Happy google translate:smile_:
I ordered mine this morning for France.
I hope I do not have that kind of problem.
I hope this "new" stealth is going to be more than just a Tiger Lake refresh. It's said that the new intel iGPU is as fast as the MX250, which would mean no dGPU, if razer decides on just that. I hope it will feature a GTX1650Max-Q alongside the new CPU. Why? Because it would be THE ultrabook to get then. MSI has their upcoming Prestige 14" with Tiger Lake + a 1650MQ, so i'd say razer can do it too, and better, with that fance vapor chamber.

How is cpu usage? If it’s like 80 above, maybe demand too high than the supply can deliver. It may also the culprit from battery draining on charge, just my theory, I like talking theories:wink_:

CPU usage is around 100%, so no worries there, but the frequency is a bit low imo. I was playing around with turbo boot max and short power max and at one specific setting I got it to run really good at those settings over and over and then all of a sudden it just stopped again. TDP was at 15 and then with those settings it went to 25 and ran like a dream. Over and over. No problem. Closed down XTU tried again and then I'm back to a TDP of 15. Any thoughts.

You called it! It got the 1650. Pretty exciting. Curious what the battery life is going to be like, though.

Can you provide pictures with what's going on? I would like to monitor your thermals....power limit etc. XTU would be helpful for this.

Sorry to post again, but the thermal limitations are applied, when I'm not plugged in. Starts to throttle as soon as it hits 50C

MX150?

...

Yeah, i ticked too.

Well atleast I know what coil whine is now. Lol. So I'll be returning my unit. I'll sleep on if I'll exchange it or wait awhile and see if they sort this out before getting another.

Does anyone with the 4k screen seem to think the refresh seems sluggish? Just moving the mouse around and switching between windows It is quite bothersome and I want to make sure that its just me and not an issue with the laptop itself

In the Synapse software you can toggle between 40 and 60Hz for the screen. Check and see that you haven't set it to 40. My screen is fine but I am getting buzzing from the speakers.
TK-1987
Well sadly I'll be returning my unit. After hearing the buzzing noise coming from the laptop I can't unhear it. So it kind ruins using it. I'll probably get another at a later time.

BTW I contacted technical support first and I had a facepalm moment. I won't reveal his name. But, after explaining the issue the Tech suggested the issue was that Windows needed to be updated. I paused in disbelief. I wanted to ask him if he knows how windows 10 works? It updates all the time you turn it off. Lol. So he had no idea what he was talking about as he was just going through a list of old do this to fix your problem.

Don't get me wrong my laptop was basically perfect besides the buzzing noise. ((Coil Whine?)) So if anyone sees this and thinks this isn't a good laptop please don't think that. I'm gonna wait a bit and get another one down the road.

Mine does the same thing, but I don't think it's that bad at all. I once in a while hear a very silent "crackling" noise from it. But it's so low that I can barely hear it. Not an issue at all. Your story about the support made laugh. Install windows... Good one!

I have done some further investigation, and XTU does not stress CPU very much, no. I tried Cinebench and it ran like a dream. Hitting all cores at around 3,5 GHz and thermals are still amazing. They really did a good job on that. But in conclusion, it's the power adapter limiting the power at this point, which is a little sad, honestly. But I guess one can buy a bigger one. Or..?

Yes it might be. There’s 2 usb c port there you can try adding one from amazon with similar wattage, I think if the cpu and gpu run at full 25 watt it’ll be only 15 Watt for the rest Systems, fans lightning take also quite wattage, this is maybe the reason why some users say that on gaming the battery rundowns when I’m not wrong. I saw also on the video i shared that shows on gaming usage, cpu running on 100% when he’s not limiting FPS and vsync on, it means cpu bottleneck the gpu, idk if it’s performance or power supply though, but performance seemly great. Second possibility it’s on bios locked to some wattages point in order to keep cpu not throttling, power limit throttling is the result, it’s similar with Blade 15, and I don’t really care about this since gaming performance isn’t hugely effected, i personally prefer better temperatures than performance in a gaming laptop.

Glad I got some more information on your situation. Thank you for using a better stress tool than XTU. I should have specified I wanted XTU for monitoring only. This may sound weird on an already low powered CPU but have you tried any undervolting?

Its not right that people have to buy after market chargers to be able to use it! Their CEO in the video advertised it as a gaming laptop!

I will also be returning mine

I agree! it shouldn't be necessary for the customer to buy aftermarket chargers in order for them to use the product they spent their hard erned money on!!! However, I hope it can be fixed by a BIOS update or software update. I have read a lot about Razers awfull support and I had a lot of concern about this. I went for it anyway, so I hope they won't make me regret it. It seems like there is so much potential in the laptop that is either being bottlenecked by the charger and/or BIOS settings. I really do hope they will address this issue.
How many frames does LoL get on the 4k Display?
I have read something about "110" on the FHD display on ultra FHD, can someone confirm?
