Isn't it just a mat that lights up?

Thats what i thought-but because it has power you can customize it to respond very specifically to your razer mouse and vice-verser all through synapse

How so? Does it change the physical surface of the mat in some way?

I felt an immediate difference when i switched from a normal mouse mat-so much more responsive, customizable lift-off distance, high high sensitivity and the lights are a bonus

Its made from a special mesh that reduces resistance to barely any

    Gotcha...
$60 is still a lot for me to sink to a mouse pad.

Exactly dude i cant justify that price but i can justify the enhancement its had on my game-for me anyway totally worth it

Gotcha. I think I'm gonna get an orbweaver. Birthday is next week and I think that would help me more than a mousepad.

For me Firefly is too small, gaming is more important than look :D

Ohhh, I use my Orbweaver Chroma Stealth for EVERYTHING these days!! I thought it was a silly frivolous purchase until my husband bought one for me, and now I can't imagine life without it. It has totally changed my gaming experiences for the better, I highly recommend it!

As for the Firefly, or other Razer mouse mats, while the settings in Synapse do not alter the state of the mat itself, they are designed to be better for gaming than other standard mats from the get go. So, generally speaking you're going to be happier with a Razer mouse mat of virtually any kind over something more generic. They really do put the attention into detail to make the difference. I went from another company's hard mat to the Razer Vespula, and I wasn't expecting to feel any difference, but I did. Really, the only true change was the slight change in surface between companies, because other than that thye were very, very similar. However, I instantly felt the difference in the Razer mat and how my mouse performed.

To be honest ill just stick with my old mousepad and the firefly is a bit too hard for my taste
