I think the aggravation mostly came from unexpected zSilver hike lately and even the time before, since those two(or any similar events) were unexpected and just popped up. Maybe most of these are just from aggravated non-Razer members who farmed a lot and got expectations destroyed after the recent hikes.

In my side, speaking as a Razer peripheral owner, the recent zSilver redemption hike is understandable because of the recent increase of P2P users. Razer is not earning anything from this program so please guys, some of us might be aggravated but can't we just support the P2P program? Razer is giving us free stuff just for playing as usual. As far as i know, Razer is the only gaming company that "gives" to it's gamers this way via the P2P system. A sure win system, not a luck-based random draw type of giveaway, but a system that has a sure way of earning a peripheral.

Thus in my opinion, anyone who is THAT mad about the recent hikes/changes that they think they have the right to throw hate messages to the guy behind the P2P system are being too much of a freeloader

Though here are some suggestions to improve the program, or at least cut down the freeloaders in the P2P program:
    • Separate the Razer Cortex P2P account into an independent one(not like the current system that is automatically linked to your zVault account), dedicated to tracking the user's information related to the P2P program such as games owned, game hours played, etc.
    • Creating this account will require a unique registration code, which can be 1. Any of your Razer product's S/N, 2. The code can be asked from any Razer physical stores or/and 3. Obtainable via messaging the Razer FB/Instagram/Twitter page after the Razer page verifies that you are a real person/your account is not a fake one
    • The created account can now be linked in your own, separate, zVault account where you zSilver rewards are sent.
This is just a suggestion though. Maybe this way you guys can filter out fake users who "farm" zSilver using multiple accounts.

And lemme add some stuff to clarify the point of my comment:

    1. The P2P program is good/awesome.

    2. The greedy users are the problem, not the program

(Razer doesn't owe them anything especially if they haven't even bought a single product from Razer as a sign of support).

    3. At least some more stringent requirements for registration should be imposed on the P2P program because it can/may be exploited which may cause serious loss for Razer and the gamers who actually allot their time playing everyday for the P2P program, despite having adult responsibilities. :frown_:

Thanks for the ongoing feedback but for a community campaign, it's not achieving the goals etc and in many cases it's probably counterintuitive with all the negativity surrounding it.

We'll review it and it's likely I'll at least direct the team to suspend it to see how we can design/engineer it better or failing which, cancel it altogether.

It is unfortunate that it may come to that, but if it is required to weed out the greedy/negative users than so be it!

Regardless of happens, you got my vote 100%. I will still be a Razer fan!

Wow.. Definetly not by increasing the prices without a warn. Seriously but I was so so sooo excited about redeeming new keyboard when i got back to home. I was hyped all day. And what happened? wow im so disgusted. 183 000 instead of 130 000 is such a big change (Im talking about Ornata Chroma). If i knew i would even buy something with zGold just to cash out new keyboard before the inflation. I can understand the price increase but not just like out of nowhere. I love the programme but this is just a shame. That destroyed my whole day, and next few too. You should change the prices back even for one day to let people who were so close to redeem whatever they wanted to. I wish i was rich and could just afford it but Im a student and Im little bit short on money most of the time. YAY another 2 months of hard grind! (pls let us redeem for old prices for one more day :C )

I'll be sad to see it go, but it's very expected. I've been figuring it'll have to be shut down for months due to all the complainers.

These ungrateful thankless people can't figure out that anything is always better than nothing.

If I created a great program just to be nice and gave stuff away to people for having fun and then they did nothing but complain I'd be mad and frustrated too.

Who would have ever thought people would complain about "having" to game like it's a chore!

I wouldn't get your hope up. It seems like the damage has been done! The best you can do now is either redeem through zGold and hopefully get enough point to get the keyboard or you may have to redeem before they cancel the program.

You are not the only who was has been thinking the same thing. It is sad to see it go!

Gaming should never be a chore! I game to unwind after a hard day at work!

I joined the razer community when I bought my Ornata Chroma about a year ago and joined the insider soon after that. Goodness, I can still remember being so excited to see a £90 keyboard from razer that I could actually afford. I've never really been a part of a community of sorts like this and it does make one feel like one belongs.

Just got my first job after graduating uni and am close to having 100k zSilver. I was going to get a new headset.
The Paid to Play program has been exciting and innovative while it lasted, as I assume it will be stopped soon. I honestly can't say a bad thing about it. It's difficult to complain about a free service when you also get awarded for literally doing what you love. If Paid to Play ended I would definitely miss it but to be honest I never really expected to get anything like this from razer either.

Have to wait and see what happens I suppose.

Yeah I was pretty bummed about the unannounced removal of the Blackwidow TE V2 (and 70k increase of other keyboards). It was the last thing I needed to finish my setup and I have been grinding for it since the release of zSilver and was excited bc I could almost get it. But since was a gift from Razer to begin with I can't complain about not getting it, zSilver is great in general, so thanks.

Also I don't really believe that you don't even earn 1 cent from it, user data is very valuable and Cortex probably gathers a lot(see what games ppl play, how long, what setup they have) that stuff is very interesting for advertisers and Razer ofcourse. I haven't seen any statement about the data mining and I don't care too much myself since most tech companies do it.

Anyways I saw some good feedback in this thread and I'm hoping for some great stuff to continue my grind in next months refresh.

    Thanks,

In my opinion after the price increase, suspending or canceling the program right now will be the worst mistake after the previous. You will face big wave of hate and even worse complains than before. If you feel like canceling this project is the best idea then give the cortex users enough period to adapapt and get at least something worth their spent time on the program.

Totally ok, @mltan. You do you.

At least you just did what most people on here seem to be complaining about: you're telling them ahead of time. They can't complain about that once the program goes away. ;)

The problem was a lack of communication between Razer and Community when these changes were done. Now we all have to deal with consequences. Giving up is not a solution. Some people have high expectations and taking away something what was let's say promised (I know it's wrong word but you know the point) would be diseaster. I know that Razer is giving something for free and they have rights to decide about rules under which people get rewarded but it would be great to give people a choice when it comes to redesign program - present option B and let people vote if they prefer the current system, new one or remove it completely. I think it will be fair and nobody will blame Razer if something goes wrong.

What zSilver rewards would be stopped? Sorry busy with your new Core lately;) don’t have time looking at the rewards. Building something new will come with negative opinions etc, but there’s also thousands positive opinions about it, i heard and saw poeple claim about the higher price for rewards items but I think things that prices are getting higher isn’t only zSilver things, look at GPU price that’s going insane lately...and poeple claim about free items rewards price? Come on...I know it’s painful thinking something that could get at lower price and after earn the value, suddenly the price becomes higher, just like €650 GPU that suddenly went to over €800, but in zVault you’re being paid for what you’re enjoying, there’s no better service and it’s innovative move from Razer imo for a gamers...in this insane GPU prices age;)

This is really unfortunate news. I thought P2P was a great program (so far I've redeemed for the Chroma Mug) and I've been supportive by purchasing a new mouse and zGold since this program's launch. I was hoping to redeem for the Ornata Chroma soon because my six year old Deathstalker is starting to wear out (not happening soon because of the recent changes, lel the irony here).

But Min I'm going to be honest and very straight forward, this post shows why people are upset; I'm not really seeing much effort in trying to quell the storm. Razer makes sudden and drastic changes then people get upset and you threaten to shut the program down instead of making any attempt at realizing why people are upset (this isn't the first time we've had problems with the program). To make matters worse you make this threat a second time after nearly four pages of people trying to praise the program and making suggestions for improvements. This can be seen as quite childish behavior, especially coming from a CEO who should be leading the world by example. You started to lead by creating an awesome program and now we are seeing yet another emotional and rash decision to just shut it down when people are merely upset because negative changes were made to the program without any communication. Instead of being the CEO who couldn't handle unhappy people (c'mon something is going to upset someone no matter what, it's life) you, once again because this isn't our first incident here, have the chance to show how great of a leader you can be. Take the feedback, make the program better, have happy fans, and show the world why Razer is the most popular gaming peripherals company in the world.

Momentarily going back to saying I haven't seen any effort, some of the posts in this very thread are copy and paste from the thread from eight months ago where you threatened to shut down the program the first time. Some very good suggestions are out there!

So, let's review how this program has gone so far: Razer started by adding a swath of supported games then ripped those all away without notice for 5 games/month which harms large groups of players (backlash 1). Since then things have started to improve with weekend events such as double earn rates or double caps (seriously awesome incentives). Then came expiration dates without notice and backlash 2. AFK timers, fully understandable. We've seen increased support for a wider range of games at lower earn rates (again, this is really awesome and strikes a nice compromise between too many people earning and people being able to play what they want). Things are going smooth and happy again then BAM!, massive price hikes in popular items without any notice whatsoever aaaaaaaaand backlash 3. See the trend here? Every time people have expressed discontent it's been about uncommunicated and harmful (based on perspective) changes! Communication, try it it's an amazing tool.

I love Razer products and when I was looking at other brands to replace my keyboard you guys started this awesome program and ensured my loyalty. But if a bit of whining from never going to be happy people is enough to make the CEO throw in the towel, I guess this is the end of Paid 2 Play. Or you can take the feedback, make the program better, have happy fans, and show the world why Razer is the most popular gaming peripheral's company in the world.

Edit: I forgot to mention, death threats are intolerable and those people should be IP banned without hesitation. Stay safe Razer staff, thoughts and prayers.

Edit 2: I would also like to point out to those complaining about the price hikes on the most popular and most expensive items in the catalog: there are other items you can redeem for, some of which have even dropped in price (gasp).

I think just some extra information would be useful, things like a shipping calculator so you can know how much it'll cost you out of your own pocket before you redeem would help with transparency so people know exactly how it's going to work. Also being able to combine the order with other things would probably help, I'm not sure if you can do that right now, I'm guessing you can but you can't combine with other offers.

Finally, and I'll keep saying this, I absolutely think zSilver should be integrated and earned from purchases from the Razer Store, or alternatively let zGold be used on the store and encourage people to stock up on your currency and get zSilver in the process. It would really help strengthen the loyalty aspect of the program and it just makes a lot more sense!

Overall I think the program is great, I tell everyone I know who games on PC about it and get them involved. A lot of people just approach the program with a lot of scepticism, they assume that there's something sinister going on, and that you must be grabbing and selling personal data because nothing is given away for free. It's no fault of the company, although a lot of people tend to just hate on the brand before they try it because they don't understand. Ultimately it's a reflection of how little trust people have in anything these days based off of experiences, not a whole lot you can do about it unfortunately.
