Same here How to Fix IT, the THX led is not working, also the sound is bad, please PLEASE RAZER, ROLLBACK THE UPDATE! I WANT THE OLDER VERSION OF THE SOFTWARE!

20231207 update does not work too. All the same. Drivers seems generic driver. Sound and microphone is garbage.

Not just you Kraken lads, us Sharks lost THX as well.

I think that all the headphones that have this technology have failed because I am in more threads of people with different models and they all fail and I read the same thing over and over again but what really seems bad to me is that Razer seems to do everything; Someone from support looking at the number of threads with the same topic both here and on reddit and no one says anything? It's a bit strange... and then the fix I think will not be something so difficult that they will revert the update from there to the previous version until they polish this and it works perfectly... it seems to waste people's time... I use while thx spacial audio which has a 15 day trial and that's how it works for me but after those 15 days I do see that This remains the same, I will have to switch to another brand... it's not that I'm very excited because I was happy with these headphones but I paid for 7.1 headphones with thx not for stereo headphones

Estou usando Kraken Tournament Edition.

So you were having the same problem as me, next to the mute button on the right side there is the game sound and the chat sound and you just need to play it until it makes the balance sound and the sound comes back

In my case the update gave me back thx 7.1 I have it through the Razer 7.1 Surround Sound app but when I put this at the output I do not have access to the equalizer since now the sypnase app forces me to output "game" if I do this I have stereo headphones with thx... unfortunate about the razer support

I bought the THX update for my 7.1 surround software, which came with my Kraken X, before. Later, I purchased the Razer USB Audio Controller and was happy until they released this update. Now, I found the key for THX and installed it. It's working as before, but now it's operating on the 'Game' channel. I will just wait for the fixing update.

I can actually hear a SLIGHT difference between stereo and THX spatial ESPECIALLY at the end of the demo when the THX lights up.

 

It is better than the stereo option , but the THX spatial is NO WHERE near as good sound quality or positioning , and theres no more custom positioning either.

I switched to the steelseries gg sonar application a long time ago! All problems are gone and the spatial sounds sound better! pubg is insane! The best thing is that my razer microphone sounds much better using sonar!

i am having the exact same problem i updated the synapse and now my  thx spatial synapse audio os missing and the light on my headset does not light up anymore.  Please fix this update it is broken and makes gaming horribly bad now that i am used to having spatial audio

Unfortunately, people took that away from us, I already accepted that I lost that, so I went there and bought thx spacial and my problems ended...

Same here… Before seeing this thread i also uninstalled and reinstalled and removed THX Audio. I hope it will be fixed soon! Cuz they say that my product is now not elegible for the Key to receive spatial audio, and that makes zero sense...

Unfortunately, people took that away from us, I already accepted that I lost that, so I went there and bought thx spacial and my problems ended...

So we have to buy it now ? :D .What a joke :)

That's false information our USB sound card work just with synapse. install spatial audio wont use ur soundcard

After the latest driver release I went ahead und clean uninstalled Razer Synapse, THX, deleted Razer folders under User Appdata, System Programdata and System Program Files, cleaned registry, restarted and followed Installer and Support instructions at 

 step by step...THX still not working on my Kraken Ultimate and Synapse Audio Enhancement and EQ settings show no effect.

Quick Update: As expected the update did not make any difference. I guess the last thing remaining I have not tried yet - for obvious reasons - is to reinstall Windows… I may do that if I find the time...if this does not resolve it, I’ll move on. Would still have wished for a bit more support, acknowledgement, and interaction by Razer.

Same problem new update removed spatial option as well as the equalizer no longer does anything!

I have similar issues as described by others previously. My Kraken Ultimate was running just fine until I updated to the new driver.

Issues:
1. Synapse recognises the Headset what connected, but wrong driver is applied by Windows 11
2. THX is not working anymore, pressing the physical button or in-app switch does not change audio processing
3. EQ does not apply
4. Uninstalling Synapse, cleaning Registry,  uninstalling devices from Windows Device Manager does not fix the issue
5. Manually applying the correct driver from Windows Device Manger does not work

Looking into this, I figured that Windows 11 does not apply the actual Razer driver to the headset but instead a generic Windows driver.
 

 

Attempting to change the driver by pointing to the correct driver located at Program Files, errors with the notification that the best driver “Audio Endpoint” is allready installed.
 


Also the WIndows Sound Settings > Audio Enhancements indicated “THX” as the Device Default Effect, however since this updated and with the Generic Windows Driver it now indicates “Microsoft Audio Home Theater Effects”. 
 

 

From all this so far I would assume the wrong driver is used for running the headset. Therefore Synapse audio settings are not applied.

 

My sound has now an entirely different pitch and color to what I am used and prefer making sound orientation in FPS games very difficult….Either revert or fix soon please….

They say that under "applications" you can now see that THX is installed. This could already be seen before all these problems, it is nothing new.

Before the sound was clearer, it had better quality and when I switched to THX you could hear it differently, much better. Now having THX or not, it makes no difference, it doesn't work.

I don't care that it's "more modern and works better" now, I don't want what's there now, I want the sound as it was before, I want real quality sound. I want to see THX APO, not Generic USB and notice that sound improvement again.

Anyway, it doesn't matter, I'm getting rid of Razer.

exactly same with razer blackshark v2 (usb). Sound drivers selected from Microsoft drivers. It seems drivers were set wrongly.

FOR PEOPLE WHO WAIT WHILE THEY GET AN UPDATE.
You can download the thx spatial audio app, it is a paid application but it has a 15-day free trial, with this application the thx spatial option will appear again in the Windows speaker and once you go to Right click on the speaker / sounds / it will appear again in the thx sypnase set so you can also configure 7.1
I have it like this and although I don't have an LED signal on my Kraken Tournament controller it works for me since this app brings the trial version of the helicopters that are no longer available in sypnase in addition to the point in the middle with the speakers around it that also removed from sypnase.
I REPEAT. It has a 15-day trial, installs quickly and configures in a minute

There are some obvious and persisting issues with the recent major changes to the drivers and Synapse. I can understand that errors and bugs can happen but I want them addressed correctly and fixed soonest. 

 

I am using Razer equipment for years by now and several headsets for the past 10 years. I’m not going to get a new headset that was working great just until this update and had “built-in” THX support what was the selling point back then.

 

I hope they get this fixed soon or revert to the state before...and next time check compatibility more thoroughly before making such a major change. If this is not resolved I dont see how I could trust Razer going forward so will look into a competitor instead. I’m not going to pay for THX app if I am already eligeble to use it on my Kraken Ultimate.

I don't think they are going to fix anything else, there is a list, as I already said, with the headphones that have sypnase 3 support. I don't know if yours are on that list or not... I contacted support and they only gave me instructions to follow. How to configure, I'm still the same as before... in game I only get stereo sound so I keep using the free 7.1 Surround Sound app but the thx doesn't work well... once when this started failing on reddit a person said that I had read on a page that they were stopping supporting older headphones so that people would buy the new models; I didn't believe it at the time but now I have my doubts... the update was a month ago and nothing has been fixed but in all the threads I've read of people complaining about sound problems, none of them mention a new device. .. I also wanted to continue using Razer, in fact I was very content with my Kraken Tournament but I see a dirty move on Razer's part to do this and also say that there is no need for that paid app when they continue to offer it on their page and they have also uploaded it the price... it doesn't make sense... Right now I'm between some Logitech and Corsair models... it bothers me because my Kraken Tournament worked well but to use them like this it's better not to use them
