Razer Synapse 2.0 on macOS High Sierra issue

I had recently updated my razer synapse program for my mac, and about a day after, the application would open but it wouldn't load my configurations for my razer devices. It would only show the green buffering circle and I left like this for about a hour, and still nothing load4ed. If anyone can give me some help with this issue, it would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Wished I had read this thread before I purchased my birthday present for my mac. The hardware feels so wonderful to type on. The synapse v2.0 I just download for the Mac does not even recognize that I have BWCv2 plugged into the Mac. Now I'm stuck with randomly change back-lighting and way to load the macro keys. I'm hoping that somewhere I can find the documentation on what ASCII sequences I need to send to the USB port in order to do the configuration myself. Anyone know where that doc is kept?
Since (I suspect) the changes to the EU privacy regulations, my synapse 2.0 on High Sierra reopens (and usually hangs) EVERY time I unlock my mac. It constantly forgets my devices, forgets my profile, decides there's no battery in may mamba, changes my profile or just crashes.

This latest version is quite possibly the worst piece of software I've ever had the misfortune to have installed on any computer ever and it's a guarantee of me never buying any Razer stuff again despite using only Razer peripherals for well over 10 years on all my computers.

I'm genuinely irritated and upset by this. Either give up, stop pretending to support OSX and admit you don't give a damn about us or write some decent code for once.
Razer synapse is broken in mojave. Work on it now. Thx.
continuous crashes in macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 beta (17G39b)

Synapse is a disaster!

at Mojave and macOS High Sierra

salut!

developers have abandoned the SYNAPSE project for Mac?

I'm wondering if Synapse for Mac will be fixed at all, we should get an answer so that we can go to a different brand, I have used Razer devices for many years, but this issue has become ridiculous... We own several mice and three pads, two orbweavers and a tartarus. The mice have some issues and the keypads are completely useless... Come on Razer, fix you software, you wont want your unhappy Mac users to start flooding amazon with bad reviews on the Razer items we have bought there
Amazon and reddit!

constant crashes...

constant crashes...
Still not working...
I got it working on my Mac by holding Alt+Command+R before turning on my Mac. Then I used Disk Utility to format the Mac using APFS but NOT the case-sensitive version. **WARNING** Doing so erases all data on your Mac!! I then reinstalled High Sierra. Downloaded and installed Razer Synapse 2.0 and it worked! It wasn't working at all when I was using case-sensitive APFS so I think that was the problem. Good luck guys!
I have an issue with High Sierra and Synapse where I can't remap the mouse sensitivity keys to mouse button 4 and 5. In Synapse, it looks like the change is made, but those top buttons still perform mouse sensitivity changes. I also can't remap the repeat zoom buttons (scroll wheel left & right).
I've got my Tartarus V2 working again in High Sierra finally after days of frustration.

I uninstalled Synapse and have started using USB Overdrive instead. It's tiny and runs inside of System Preferences, very easy to configure. No LED controls though.

It's shareware so you can try it for free, or buy a license and support the developer.
He's got more time to do this stuff than the Mac team at Razer!

I'm not gaming, I use the Tartarus for video editing and motion graphics shortcuts and macros.
Ghost.Valk
Terminal -> sudo spctl --master-disable

With that you will get Apps from Anywhere on that screen, unlock and set. That's Apple protocol since.. Sierra i believe, by default all apps not from the appstore are blocked. Can't believe you just realized that xD

I think what he was trying to say, or at least what has happened to me a few times, is that Synapse 2.0 was already "approved" to be used via system preferences > Security & Privacy.. Then randomly, days later, it keeps asking for approval again, but when it does, the "allow" this app to run button, on the "Security & Privacy" screen, doesn't pop up to approve Synapse 2.0. You shouldn't need to use a thermal command to force it to work, and if you have already approved it, why does it need approval again, and again....
Not sure if anyone in this thread has a new 2018 MacBook Pro, if so have you been having crazy issues with Synapse 2...??? Most of the time, my devices (listed below) do show in the Synapse 2 menu bar, but when I actually open Synapse 2, it doesn't show the little icons to customize the settings of each device. I have to physically unplug, and replug in each device to make them show up. Also when this does happen, they do show up within "About this mac" > System Report > USB, so the mac clearly seems them, and they also work like a basic peripherals, but none of the extra mouse buttons work, or the macro buttons on the keyboard, etc. Sometimes I have to unplug, reboot, and plug back in again and hope they show up within Synapse 2.

I do have all my Razer devices plugged into the new BlackMagic eGPU, instead of using USB-C to USB-A dongles, but even plugging them all in directly into the MBP, doesn't seem to make any difference at all.

Also I have had the "Approval Required" screen within Synapse 2, posted above, even after it has been approved within Security & Privacy...

Lastly, lots of RzDeviceEngine, RzUpdater, and Razer Synapse crash logs in ~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports even from the last few days, and it is growing.

Sometimes no matter what I do, Synapse won't show the devices within the app, or the app completely freezes, and won't even open after a reboot, and the only thing I can do is uninstall Synapse 2 and then reinstall it.

hi.

my Razer Naga Epic Chroma disconnects, stops working and the LEDs go off.
I have to charge it for a few seconds and it works again, for a while, because it disconnects again.
The Razer Naga Epic Chroma is fully loaded.

Sometimes, it also stands still for half a second and appears at another point on the screen....

I uninstalled Synapse.
I have installed the latest Version 1.83 (1.83.10)

THX
Will it ever be fixed? MacOS Mojave here, my razer naga is actually useless, side buttons doesn't work at all, i guess i have to buy some logitech...
Duno,
I own a Trinity and Synapse 1.83 and it works flawlessly on High Sierra 10.3.6

o_O
I submitted a ticket to synapse support on July 29th, ask for an update, still nothing. Sad, clearly not important to them.
I have a Razer Ornata Chroma, I am on macOS 10.13.5 and using Synapse 2 really sucks.
I am frustrated about lost profiles, constantly forgetting my devices.
I really like the keyboard, though. But that's another thing.
Synapse 2 freezes and crashes all the time.
Hello guys,

I just bought a Razer Huntsman keyboard and also downloaded Synapse 2.0. However after logging in the screen just says "Please connect a Razer Synapse enabled device". I have tried uninstalling Synapse however I have come to the same result.

I am operating on macOS High Sierra Version 10.13.6

Please help!
My razer isn't even being recognised by my Macbook Pro running macOS High Sierra Version 10.13.6. It appears from reading many threads that this issue has been ongoing for YEARS!

I bought my first naga back in 2011 to originally use on a windows platform laptop. I took a 6 year break and returned to gaming (this time with my Mac). The mouse stopped working so I bought ANOTHER one because I thought maybe my original mouse was old, only to found out I gave you guys more money for no reason as that mouse stopped working too - but works fine on my old toshiba.

I love your products but the fact you refuse to make credible and tangible action on this prominent issue is making me very reluctant to buy any more of your products....
Where do you find Synapse 2.0 for OS X? Can only find 1.83.10 (or is this S2.0 for OSX?)
Keyboard not recognized by Synapse on my 2016 MacBook pro either when plugged into a Thunderbolt 3 dock or a TB3 to USB dongle. The OS sees it and shows the keyboard as a Razer Huntsman Elite in the system information. I've seen a guy at work use it with an older MBP with built-in USB ports, so it seems the Razer software isn't doing something kosher when on the newer Macs.

It's going back to Best Buy. This was my first Razer product. Remember this Razer: you only get one chance to make a good first impression. You dropped the ball here.
It has nothing to do with Mac OS version, i have tried the last 3 versions of the apple os and i have crazy issues on both my keypad and mouse.

It is a shame that Razer decided not to consider apple equipment users as as important as windows users.

I have had lengthily emails exchanges with their support .
The best i got, as an answer to my issues (issues being spending 300 € on a keypad and a mouse and being able to use them), is that they will bring the issue to their technical services...

But nothing changed for months.

I am back to Logitech, and you know what their devices work perfectly on Mac OS...

Too s/bad.
Checking in months later and nothing has changed. Min, please get your crap together!
I just came back from Best Buy with a Razer Mamba Elite. Downloaded Synapse 2.0 on my MacBook Pro and it says to please connect a synapse compatible device... Disappointed that I can't even map the extra buttons on the mouse without Synapse working. I was also going to buy a Huntsman Elite, but if I can't even get synapse to recognize it not even going to attempt it. Very disappointed, Razer.

Looks like neither the Mamba Elite or the Huntsman Elite are supported on Synapse 2.0 for MacOS.

I can confirm that the developers for Synapse 2 on Mac are still here and well. Now that 10.13.4 release is official/final, it is a part of our full test suite. We are also testing on APFS as suggested by @BaccaBoss2 . The patch with all the latest updates and fixes is tentatively scheduled to be rolled out around end of April.

I'm on 1.83 and your POS software still glitches. Literally about to reach out to all Tech PR outlets and get you a sh*t show of bad press if this isn't fixed asap.
