Synapse won't open


Hi everyone, I recently got a new computer and a Blackwidow Chroma v2, but whenever I want to open synapse to configure lighting, I click the application and nothing happens. The only thing that seems to fix it is an uninstall and reinstall, and the problem returns every time i turn my PC on. The Razer Central application is running, mind you, but when I try to open Synapse therefrom, it doesn't work either. Any experience shared would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hello everyone. In my case I think the normal automatic update was interrupted accidentally, either I closed the window or restarted my computer, in any case the old version was uninstalled partially, and did not complete the reinstall. I just downloaded the install file and it worked right away.
when I run razer software (razer central or synapse [launching synapse will launch central]) it opens happily however when I try to use macro features I'm given a message "razer synapse must be running to use this function. This feature is not stored as a part of any on-board memory profiles" and no matter what I do I cant seem to get synapse to "be running" this is really frustrating me and it appears to be frustrating many people for many months now. WTH razer? I mean come on.
I just got my Cynosa V2 yesterday. I was really happy with my purchase, had a good gaming session and shut my PC down. This morning, I start it up and see synapse hasn't automatically started, so I try to do it manually and, lo and behold, it doesn't work. This thread is more than 2 years old and it seems Razer employees still haven't found a fix for this problem. Incredible.
Just bought the Razor Viper Ultimate and can't open the Synapse. It installs fine, but after I click the Get Started button on the installer, nothing happens. It runs in the background, but doesn't open. Can't change any settings on the mouse.

Logitech software was crap, but at least it worked. Guess I'll return the mouse on Monday unless I can get the software working over the weekend.

Three years with the same problem and still no fix. Nice going guys. First and last Razer product I'll ever touch. Left a 1 star review on Amazon.

Hi! Synapse doesn't work for me. Nothing happens when the program starts. I have 3 Razer products and I can't use Chroma. I can't configure Naga keys. Reinstalling doesn't help.

This problem has been happening for me since around 2017. Still get the problem although now it's on Synapse 3 as opposed to the original. On the original, it actually worked to just end all the tasks in task manager but that doesn't work anymore.

it could be OS source file damage

For Windows pc
* remove synapse
* Run Windows OS diagnostics,
* update windows with windows updates
* restart pc
* reinstall synapse

There is no guarantee this will work, when there is an OS source file damage, it is best to reinstall the OS
I have the same problem and when it does load takes forver to do any thing. try a macro and takes 20 min to enter 3 key strokes.
yo whenever i even just press the application it doesnt do anything. no error screen or anything. it was working the first day i got it but now its just given up and its only the second day lmao
Update. After restart things back to the same - doesn't run. I've also noticed some new things in autorun. No idea for which they purpose for, but seems to it's no matter if you turn them of, i.e. Synapse will not run as always.

After the last update Synapse started to run finally, it seems to. But now another thing - I see no audio options in the program at all. Where have they all gone?

Or, probably, it's not recognizing my Nari headset now...
the best solution what worked for me is to throw it away and buy from a different vendor. sad but true.
1. Windows firewall option. Seems to I don't have such trouble.
2. Services. I've checked it - have both of them. So. It's not a solution for me.
3. Device manager.
4. Turn off components. I've left only Synapse and Cortex. Same, no result.
*. Also tried to turn on/off things in autoload, i.e. when Windows starts. No effect too.




Have had a long conversation with support via chat/e-mail, tried a lot of things, but, seems to, developers has no idea at all how to fix it and continue to repeat basic things like "reinstall", "install .NET framework" and etc. / take your pick.

Also have tried several methods from youtube, but none of the fix the problem.
Just opened up my brand new Razer Blade and boy if this isn't is going straight back to the store tomorrow. Two years of complaints and no fix yet? Wouldn't the customers Razer already lost to this issue have fully paid for the fix and then some? Give me a break. This is how not to stay in business. For the money we pay, we deserve a fully functional laptop out of the box---not the beta version that this thing is.
Back to the topic. This is a temporary solution. I.e. after you will restart your PC it will be broken again. So if you want to switch settings - it's require to repair this thing each time...

oof, i feel bad about all the people with razer problems, and the only razer problem i have is that I am too lazy to go to the garage and get my razer kraken box and connect it with synapse so i can get some razer silver lol
Update. Fixed. Just open the Control Panel -> Programs -> Uninstall program -> Change -> Repair -> Restart the PC.

Didn't require to turn on/off programs, reinstall drivers / .NET framework, etc.

I also have Synapse 2 installed near by, which runs fine. Razer DeathStalker keyboard not support 3.0.
Using Synapse 3.0. Same problem with Razer Nari Wireless, "Failed to start".

Similar problems but instead I get "Failed to start", ITS BEEN A WHOLE MONTH!
I had an old Synapse that did this, bought as newer one foolishly thinking Razer had gotten their act together. Launch game, then find out my keys are borked. Try to open Synapse, but it asks me to sign in, OK, I sign in. Then nothing. It shows me stupid account settings, but Synapese will not open.

The *fix*

  • Open Task Manger and kill every single Razer everything.
  • Wait a second.
  • Relaunch the app
  • Wait several seconds.
  • Launch Synapse.

I literally almost lost my game of League of Legends because this garbage app can't figure out how to function.
Yeah, this is obviously an ongoing problem with no solution. BYE BYE RAZER!!!
razer is a joke, can't even make a software that opens up. some of their sites are labeled "not safe". are you kidding? you can make entire PCs, but not a software? go fix yourself, i just bought these razer products and i'm contemplating about returning them or burning them. you choose.
